That Glutathione is truly disgusting, I was so pissed by the amount of promotion done by these influencer back then 2 years ago that I had to make a video on 3 reasons why one shouldn't use Glutathione , but anyways a bahy youtuber's video didn't get that much reach.
But I feel so so so good seeing creators like you who set their standard high and have maintained a class ❤❤❤

But there are a lot of examples of serendipity in medicine which we are taught during MBBS. For example sildenafil was developed for use in angina and we all know how Viagra is used now. Minoxidil was developed as an antihypertensive but found to increase hair growth as a side effect and now is one of the most effective hair fall treatments. Penicillin and so many psychiatric medications are the same. Medications when used in different doses have different effects.
13:03 having SPF in your concealer is such an age old sham! nobody will actually be getting real protection from the UV rays unless they apply like a spoonful of concealer lmao who’s ever gonna do that on the daily. Totally agree to the Nykaa Diwali Lip Kit, repurposing the same thing with a higher rate. Similarly, MAC has a new launch of pearlescent range changing 300 more for a fancy packaging, like what?! Nobody’s collecting that esp after them discontinuing the Back to MAC scheme :( Same with their expensive lipsticks in longer packaging instead of the bullets, sigh.

If it takes forever for someone like u who is in beauty industry, to finish up the makeup products, just imagine how long it would take for people like us who use makeup occasionally. They just keep piling up in my vanity.
I hate large eyeshadow palettes!!! So confusing and I end up using only the shades I'm comfortable with. 9-12 is my sweet spot
True. They just go waste and most of the shades can't be even used to compliment each other
Thanks to you I'm being consistent with conscious shopping! Even though there are times when I'm tempted to shell out my money to buy something but then I try to be rational about my needs and wants.
And I completely agree with you brands launching humungous eyeshadow palettets, like seriously where does one have that much space to store that gigantic item? It's not even practical to travel with that palette. No needs a 40 shades nude or 50 eyeshadows in one palette unless they're hella creative or a professional artist!

Kudos, I love that shreya talks against and educate’s about these glutathione products! I dont understand why I see so many of these products coming into the market and the kind of hype and demand they have.
I have stopped purchasing makeup since the past 3 years ,now obviously when my concealer/eyebrow pencil,kajal,mascara gets over I buy it but things like blushes,eyeshadow,bronzer,highlighter,lipsticks are something I havent bought since years. I have also stopped buying unnecessary skincare products just a makeup remover,cleanser,moisturiser,sunscreen,night cream.I do weight training 5 days a week,6-10k steps almost every day,drink 3 litres of water,good 7-8 hours of sleep ,good eating habits (mostly home and whole foods) ,no smoking ,no drinking and I always get asked by ppl about my skin,nails n hair. So its what you put in your body and not what you apply on it

Kudos to you for calling out the brands. Brands like WOW and mCaffeine spend so much money on marketing while almost all of their products are shitty. And these so called 'ayurvedic brands ' are complete bullshit. Like they disclose only 40-50% of their ingredients name. The biggest problem is that there are no strict regulations when it comes to standardising beauty and skincare products. And what the hell is ayurvedic? Aloe vera gel too has a chemical name, so does haldi or curd or besan.
Anyways, great work Shreya. Would definitely love to see more videos of this kind.

Not that I support this fairness insecurity selling market but wanna add input on the side effect thing.
In medical science & research most of the discoveries are made like this.
Side effects always do not refer to something harmful. It’s the extra effects along with the desired effects of the medication. Just cuz it was discovered through a cancer pt treatment doesn’t make it any different or disgusting due to that particular aspect. There’s no sense in discriminating an ingredient based on how it was discovered. The only thing that matters is how it is being used now.

For me Glutathione use is fine as long as you use it for hyperpigmentation its very effective igredient for that it works like Alpha Arbutine but with way faster results, but a no no if using it for skin whitening.

Maybe there are so many ppl who use only concealer as a base all over or maybe only concealer these days and not foundation then maybe the SPF concealer would make sense because they’re gonna use only concealer to do their makeup but also if you would use an SPF concealer in a day and did flash photography right after you’re gonna get photo falsh back because products with spf does give you flashback

About the mccaffeine concealer: as someone who uses just sunscreen and concealer on the daily, I think having spf in my concealer would be a good idea. The shade range is abysmal though so I’m not sure I’ll get my match.

I agree many are a sham but the whole green n clean is horrible is not justified as well... " "Ayurveda" Is centuries old..unfortunately compnaies throw this word around carelessly...and they are. Many sadly...
Good brands made with care (including preservatives ) are very few... Real stuff wud need knowledge and research which these companies are not interested in and bring a bad name to this whole clean and green thing...
