Not really. All these games work like this. Unless you are brand new, you don't run around swinging at everything without thought. Unless you're restarted 😂
Side note: if you haven’t talked to Moore yet by the time you kill one, whenever you go talk to him, he says he’ll let you off the hook this time because you didn’t know. But any killing after talking to him will 100% make him aggresive
I killed obe and Moore invaded me. I didn't kill him though and he was still in this original spot before I defeated messmer and now he's not there anymore
Well that would have been nice to extend to players like me who killed one by accident! 😂 Seriously?! I don’t get a chance to apologize?! I’ll even Grovel for Mercy if I have to! I’m sorry, Moore!!! (Please don’t take me too seriously. I’m more annoyed than mad.)
I figured out these guys were not to be killed by all the messages from other players saying, "Friendship ahead, therefore Don't you dare!" Or "Precious Item ahead, but no attacking required ahead" that surrounded like every one of these guys. Each one of these guys would have like five or six messages all around them in a circle. So, I figured killing them was probably a bad idea.
this is why I left messages on during my first blind playthrough. even with the messages left by playwrs, there're certain things like the gesture statue that you would never figure our naturally
Yeah... but a less sadistic dev would make the SPECIAL ones a special color, not the other way around. Forager ones should be green or something with a knapsack and a funny hat so they're obviously different.
To be fair with fromsoft, the hostile rot kindred are located close to rauh, where every single insect gets pinky red paintjob thanks to the romina's rot bud.
If you do make a mistake & kill a Forager, yes, Moore will invade you to punish you. However. If you escape from him w/o killing him, he will eventually de-aggro, leashing back to the point of the dead Forager, where his red phantom will wait, & you can run away & teleport. I was then able to talk to Moore again, who will say "someone" killed a Forager. He was still able to trade w/ me. His questline does not last very long in any case.

It's actually better to kill them and then kill Moore. He gives you his armor but even better he gives you his shield which is amazing for negating damage. You can equip his shield with the new shield tailsman and a few other tailsmans. And you can then equip the sword Lance from the pig dude and put it on blood affinity and you can legit just tank bosses like mesmer and radahn pretty easily. Rule of thumb: ALWAYS use target lock-on to distinguish friend or foe. You can also just approach them very closely and see if they start to swing at you. That’s how I knew to not attack those Kindred of Rot foragers.
