This. ^_^ I've always enjoyed Thorn/Briar armor in the Souls games, for the chip damage but moreso the occasional attack interrupt. You only need to wear one piece. it's so convenient. Has saved me many times from taking a massive hit.
Would love to see some invasions at the rl200 range, not gonna lie! Some of the shenanigans you can get away with build-wise are really funny, and it'd be a great opportunity to try some of the more "hybrid" weapons with multiple scalings! Like the Nanaya's Torch!
Yea I took my rl166 character up to rl200 recently to be able to try out more dlc weapons and the invasions at that range have been super fun especially as a str fth build.
I'd love to see ansbach's scythe in a video. I feel like you'd be able to dance around ganks like it's nothing with that ash of war, and maybe mix some incantations into it too.

I love that they added support for running and rolling attacks. I did a dex build (PvE) with bleed infused backhand blades then Leda's armor (didn't do her quest, so no talisman), the multi-hit talismans, and Lord of Blood's Exultation. Since the BB's running R2 has 4 hits you proc status and multi-hit very fast and the damage multiplication goes crazy. Super fun.
As soon as I found the Smithscript Dagger I immediately had the idea to offhand it, and I experimented with it pretty extensively, and unfortunately it's not really great, which is a shame. It's definitely not awful, but it's not great. It suffers from the same problem as a lot of really cool ideas, where it sounds really practical and handy on paper, but in practice you really need to be trying to _make_ circumstances for yourself to use it, otherwise you're not really going to very much. I tried it with a variety of different weapons in the main hand, and different infusions, and unless you're looking for reasons to use it, it's not going to really organically find much use. Once in a while I could finish off an enemy that had a sliver of health, but an ordinary Throwing Knife consumable can do that far better, and trying to use it to maintain/proc status effects at a distance is not nearly as practical as it sounds like it would be.
A modest 5 hefty pots thrown throughout these invasions. A notable drop from recent vids, but considering the whole build is focused around rolling and running at opponents, it is more than accommodating! This build was really interesting!
I've ran into so many hosts with little to no hp at the hipo boss in the dlc. 55 to 60 vigor seems almost mandatory unless you're a god of the rolly polly way

To be honest, crouch poke spam/ certain double handed weapons are the actual broken ones.. nobody wants to say ish about it but yah, 2 shot attacks and nobody complains about "omg this is brokeeen" like ok... Regardless, fun vid

Chase, i heard that Ansbach’s Obsidian Lamina can have different attack animations after using some AOW’s from certain weapons. Like using the dueling shield with the Flame Spear AOW then switching to the Obsidian Lamina can change the original attack animation into a thrust.
@@Berserker56 Wiggling doesn't actually do anything, colossal pokes are easily countered by jumping over them or just rolling on reaction and not spamming the button in panic. They're nowhere near as unreactable as when the game originally released. This setup would be a lot more oppressive with something like Rakshasa gkatana or if you're feeling extra evil two of them.
I actually really like the smithscript dagger in the offhand. It does decent damage for having just normal throwing knife speeds so it’s good to pressure people who try to keep a distance and if you’re inclined people pretty much never expect you to have parry on it.
Oh they're back now except even worse, running Rakshasa R1s will not only demolish your HP but unless you're running a greathammer or something bigger you won't even be able to stun any poise monsters out of them.

1:50 the Sunbro was wearing briar armor so his roll stunned you. That combined with significant latency towards the host ceated that weird situation as the waterfowl connected a little early aswell compared to what was displayed on screen. you cant poise through the briar armor stun if youre in the run direction change pivot animation. Honestly for quite the unlucky situation.

Also, I imagine this setup is going to be amazing with the Serpent-Hunter; maybe ditch the Lacerating Crossed-Tree tali (the one that only enhances dash attacks) and replace it with the Spear tali. It's neat but very underpowered at the moment. Requires at least RL150 to get decent damage out of it.

Highly reccomend that chest piece against Radahn. All the dodging and quick dodge attacks you use on him destroys his health so fast 😂

Seems pretty flexible
With a different weapon maybe, colossals are easy to dodge for anyone but PvErs.
