    This advice will help you drop 4-5 strokes per round.

    I've always been a good putter,some is natural feel and the rest is practice for me. This is a really good video for those who struggle with this part of the game and for those who have lost confidence in their stroke. I do however,think part of his secret is to have a putter that is so frigging ugly that the ball is diving in the hole to get away from it!

    Good reinforcement of some basic principles. My putting lacks consistency so this will hopefully help.

    Excellent lesson Mr 1P, that was really good, practiced it today, got rid of practice swings etc. This and your dominant eye video are really good

    Paul Azinger said it best on a golf telecast. He said, "All good putters know that you have to give up control of the putter in order to gain control of the putter". It's why Crenshaw insists on an ultra light grip. You have to allow the putter to swing freely and obtain travel motion on it's own inertia. Putters don't twist when you do that. They do when you try to control them. And that is why most golfers miss so many of those putts. And in practice, timing is your worst enemy. Timing alone is putting them in the hole. But it is gone in 5 minutes time. There is no timing in a free swinging putter (aka - released).

    • @misteroneputt
      @misteroneputt  Před 11 měsíci

      I agree with most of what you say, but they do twist and I’ve demonstrated that multiple times in a device that does nothing to control the putter, but let it swing

      @@misteroneputt That's why the pro's look for one with balance. It's also why virtually all pros use a big flat topped grip. It aids the human brain in allowing the hands to eliminate twist. While the putter in a good stroke APPEARS to arc and open & close, that is only because of the effect of it riding perfectly on a tilted plane. But the putter itself is not twisting. It is staying flat and untwisted on that tilted plane. This can be proven many ways. In fact, the Putting Arc people sell an add-on device which proves it. I use a square shaft which rides a stair step one step up. It can't turn or arc but looks to the observer like it does. Weld a blade to a bicycle rim, tilt it, and turn it.... same thing. People are fooled into believing the shaft gets longer during the stroke and relative to the ground. It , of course, doesn't.

    Now that Im hitting more GIR Im facing more really long putts and Im 3 putting! Wasnt an issue in my game when I was short of the greens and chipping. Ive got to practice long Downhill lag putting! Im afraid of blowing it and leave the first one way too short, leaving a longer 2nd putt and a tap in for 3. Its frustrating when you're putting for birdie and end up with a bogie!!

    • @misteroneputt
      @misteroneputt  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Hi Sandra...that is a very common issue as you improve at GIR. Interestingly, I just posted this morning a video with 3 drills I do regularly and during a quick pre-round warm up on turning those long putts into no miss short 2nd putts which eliminates the 3 putts. Check it out and comment. czcams.com/video/A1qt7o2CwlM/video.html

    @misteroneputt, would it be possible to do a video on your yellow putter grip? I'm not certain but have you turned it 45 degrees? Would love to know more about it.

    • @misteroneputt
      @misteroneputt  Před rokem +1

      I can do that. Yes I have my Kotahi grip turned at 45 degrees. It will be a couple of weeks as I already have videos in the works. Uploading one today on flagstick in or out

    Any preference mallet or blade for players that struggle from 3-6ft?
    I have an old Newport that I can lag really well with, but when I don’t and to make a 4 footer, I’m really inconsistent
    Thanks, great video

    Should you watch the putter head go back when making a stroke, Where do YOU focus when making a putt ?

    • @misteroneputt
      @misteroneputt  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I pick one dimple on the top back of the ball and focus on that. I don’t see the putter head go back except for in my peripheral vision, but I am not focused on that.

    How many feet and inches in front of the ball is your target mark that you want your ball to roll over?

    • @misteroneputt
      @misteroneputt  Před rokem +1

      Usually somewhere between six and 18 inches but sometimes on Long puts, I pick a target further out in the distance say 1/3 or 1 half way to the hole and think about I want to roll the ball over that target or just above it or just below it

    Hi...would you consider a video where you are actually playing a round of golf with your golf buddies? Be interesting to see you in action with real golfers. Thanks for the great video.

    • @misteroneputt
      @misteroneputt  Před rokem +1

      Hmmm. I have done a few holes of that on other videos over time but yeah it’s probably time to do one that has a couple or three holes on it. I couldn’t do a whole round that would be ridiculously long video. Give me a few weeks and I’ll see what we can come up with.

      Going to order one tomorrow! I currently use the original Scotty Futura, I keep coming back to it after failed attempts with others, like a Cobra 3D Agera, my distance and direction are better with the Scotty but there is always room for improvement!
