I grew up in that area … in the late 70s early 80s … it was wild and beautiful all at the same time … I went down there not to long ago … man has it changed … still beautiful just way more populated… the boats you were on look fantastic. 😂 it seems that you just realized ALL his videos are marketing... either for him or someone else. Kinda sad, I think there's a word for that? What is it? Oh yah, it's sellout! Can't wait tell he puts a couple extra tons in it for bigger surf waves, with his young kids, and the bilge pumps (plural) fail, when he happen to put the plug in wrong and it leaks water faster than he can think to put it on plane, and he sinks it...😢

Was watching them rolling in the waves while anchored, the Midnight was rolling big time, while the Catamaran was calm…still keep it though . Nice boat.
With that wide beam and stability, I say you have your sonar boat. Have them make it with swing in diver doors on the left and right just in front of the transom and you have the ultimate recovery boat.

Reminds me of when Glacier Bay was located one town over in Monroe, WA, and after a tour with the owner and a couple of outings, I bought one. Again, before they were bought out by World Cat and moved to the east coast :)
Cat/tunnel hull boats do handle waves really well. Years ago I drove a 26ft open cockpit Ted Jones tunnel-hull design that would run 100+ on a single 300hp outboard. Super fun boat.
Those are some nice looking catamarans, in some of the drone footage you can see how much nicer the ride is underway and at rest of the cats over the monohulls.

Catamaran's are always fun to drive, they handle differently than a V-hall. They don't lean and handle heavy chop like a champ.

Freeman has high prices and long waits. Anything over 40' is a million easy. Not that I don't want one, they are a literal dream boat, but these guys here can cut a ton of cost and waiting out and give you a decently comparable experience.
I have been on both each about 25-40 miles of the coast of Florida. Hands down blue cat takes it not even close the ride is way smoother and you get there 3x as fast

Be aware of cost over runs. Check with these builders and see if they have had any major cost over runs (COR). I worked for a company. Lyman Morse in Maine, they started to have many CORs and orders dried up from prospective buyers, eliminating 1/2 of their workforce.
One of the owners was an owner in Contender for 15 years, you won’t run into cors here.

Heavy D, your on the right track, this design will make a perfect boat especially at the size your thinking 45 - 52 feet with high power maybe 2 stroke inboard diesel power running counter rotating props all designed for a 35 - 40 knot top speed would be a dream boat and meet all your expectations
Great boat. I like the bridge being covered. The sun can cut your day short. Another thought, is have a way to use this boat for recovery options. So getting in and out of the boat would be needed, plus sonar. Just a thought.

I love the low dash and that type of boat is ok for nice weather which is what we would all go out on with family and children on the boat ,unfortunately i live in the north east and prefer something traditional with a cabin, but shes a nice boat you got there lots of room.
I'm not a massive boat person but I know when I see something that looks like the future of boat design, amazing looking boat and I can see orders going through the roof!!!
