For all of the marine salvage experts in the comments: The owner, Sherrif, and insurance company all told us the boat was a total loss and were only concerned about getting it removed regardless of any damage that might occur during the recovery process.
Lift bags were not a viable or safe option with how hard the river was flowing. Those bags have an enormous amount of surface area and they rip to pieces when you tow them any faster than about 5mph and we were moving along at closer to 15-20mph by the time you factor in the speed of the river flowing plus the 5+ mph that we were moving upstream. Lift bags are NOT as easy to use as everyone thinks they are
thanks for this comment, it always amazes me how people can think they know how stuff works when they have neither ever worked with it or ever sat down to learn how they could work with it.
It seems, nobody read this comment ?
Well said 👍😎
Get yourself some snout tubes. 37" x 22' inflatable pontoon... you can get some from a river company in the Grand Canyon or find some old Bridge pontoons in military surplus...there would make these river and lake recoveries so much easier
And you did not state what could have happened if your boat stopped running. Maybe that is why no body else would do it.
Thank you so much for the recovery! We contacted many but you were the only ones willing to do it and we are so grateful. The boat is still in great shape and we are happy to get it back! You have no idea how stressful this whole situation had been.
Blink twice if you are being made to say this against your will.
They destroyed all the windows!! That was absolutely the result of being lazy or just stupid! Totally wrong way to do the job....but hey if you're happy😂😂😂😂😂
How much will it cost to have all the windows replaced that they blew out?
All the gear and no idea stick to fixing diesels
Where is the all widows man
I’d rather be missing all my glass than the rest of the boat.. nice recovery
I rewinded it cos I was like, wait were the windows there? 😅
@@JoeDobias and its on the bottom of the river..they should have taken it out first instead of polluting
Boat recovery expert, here. Winching to a tree to dump or siphon water, as you contemplated, would have been preferable, and probably, easier. Float it and tow it has, always, been my motto.
But that won't make a great CZcams video ! lol
It's not about easy, it's about views.
Glass expert here. I dont have the dimensions of all that glass and gasket material. If the glass isn't readily available the price goes even higher due to all the templates that have to be made, and it having to be hand cut and wet sanded. I was sick when I saw all the glass missing! I hope Heavy D has a little more sympathy and helps him out on that. It will sure be a lot cheaper than restoring the guy asking them to restore his mustang from top to bottom front to back! I know they could, but what an ask!
The edit of “I think it will pop up” to it being dragged under water had me dying 😂
Just took a bit to blow out the windows first 😂
Luck
Sucks it blew all the windows out but the boat was saved and can be repaired owner is probably happy
I have watched your content for a long time now, and the work you and your team does is awesome. That said, I am handicapped and my wife has always wanted a Mustang. i was finally able to get her one but it needs to be gone through from front to rear and top to bottom. I am unable to complete the work now, and I am in hopes that you might find a place in your guys' hearts to complete the work. After 17 yrs in the military I am ashamed to have to ask for help but with sll my issues I may not be around to many more years and I hope that after all she has done for me I can leave her with a safe car. Thank you for all you do.
Nice job Daves and crew! Funny how instantly everyone in the comments becomes a boat recovery expert !
Finally someone who doesn't think they know everything 😅
I am a Master Mariner. I am a marine expert. And you ? What is your area of expertise ?
Awesome boat, nice of you to come to the rescue of those in need again! The owner seemed to really appreciate it.
Old worn out wear rings allow cavitation inside the pump and really hamper clean flow of water through the pump. My dad ran a jet up and down the Colorado River and he literally changed the wear ring every year. And it always made a remarkable difference in speed and low end torque. Depending on river/lake conditions, its best to measure the clearance quite often if you want peak performance.
Crazy boat i didnt think it was gonna pull it out once it rolled and fully submerged.
Love the repairs on your boat. Was surprised you didn't try to float the boat a bit before towing. Thanks for a great video this morning. Glad the owner was happy to get his boat back.
I gotta admit. I thought that was going a different way. Goes to show that you know a thing or two about this. I Never would have thought you could float that boat with just current and force. 👏 👏 👏
Thank you for helpin the guy out!! Stay safe everyone
No way this is by my hometown and I passed you guys as you were heading to do the recovery. I had to do a double take thinking man that looks like heavyd's boat😂. Super cool!
Bless you and your crew for all you do, thank you.
“I don’t know if it’s well done.. iiits successfully done” 😂😂
Hey Dave and crew, thank you so much for the recovery! It was a really wild day and we have been so stressed about how to get this out. Even though you broke my windows, im very thankful!!! Great wishes to you and your crew.
I guess the only positive thing about the windows being blown out is that the panels all seem to be flat panels of glass so you can have them cut to shape at most any glass shop. If they were curved glass windows then you would be looking at big bucks to replace them.
This beats Cable, TV and Sat, or what ever you call it...I'm watching this...
That was great Dave the crew did there job thank you for keeping the water ways clear for people to enjoy.safely
Every time I watch You Bros do what you do It warms My Heart 💯💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’m shocked you guys didn’t try to pump water out first 😮
I was thinking that, then saw the angle the boat was at in relation to that fast flowing river, fairly sure you would need one heck of a pump to beat that flow rate. Also didn't seem an obvious way to safely get the boat higher at the stern end.
@@chrismcconnell4336just attach an airbag or two at the back to get the stern out of the water, pump all the water out, tow it back safely with the windows still intact. That would have been the proper way to recover it.
@@12sec5ltr But that would not make for "good" content...
It would have saved the windows it took all of the glass in the front of the boat. It was in great shape before the pulled it under water
Thete was alot of luck in this recovery
Nice that you give back and help people out
This is paid recovery he’s not doing this for charity
You are the best in recovery of anything. I enjoy watching your videos.
Same
you must not know about rory irish
Well done all! - quailty recovery, no question. As always, appreciate awesome videography...and all the personalities. B safe and well everyone.
Very pleased to see the navy boat had some solid work done on it. It seemed like every time you brought it out, something went wrong with it, and it was always "we need to do X" or "we need to fix Y," except it never got done. Glad to see it finally did.
I love watching you guys work and getting good laughs ! 👍🏼😎
Thats awesome my grandpa used to weld for the air force ,when he passed i got a bunch of propellors he rebuilt and welded the materials back , thanks for bring me that memory back
Heavy D's expert planning & action gives the result of Wonder. Well done!!
Absolutely love all your videos here in nz thanks for the great content
The boat is wicked cool. Great video and thank you for sharing the recovery.
Every video I watch I learn something whether it's something small or something cool on how to get an old piece of equipment running. I love your videos
Good job👍 from a operator of over 20 years
I cannot lie, I haven't been watching your videos since you came forward about the Badger truck. I was put off by the whole situation and, wrongly, that caused me to be withdrawn and I stopped watching anything HeavyDSparks related. I must say your transparency and openness about it finally did win out and I watched the "River Boat Accident ..." after months of absence. I would like to finish this missive by saying I apologize for letting my fear of wrong doing cloud my judgement about your channel. I say truth in your eyes when you were on several podcasts and I believe you.
That boat is awesome. Definitely could have a fun time with that boat that HeavyDSparks has.
That was awsome. Love your boat and love your buddy’s boat. Truely unique anymore 😊
Nicely done Dave !
Great recovery! Without any inflation bags to lift the boat and pump it out, you had no other options. Not sure if bags would have worked there anyway. That rescue boat has amazing power.
Always helping someone!! And that army boat is going to be sick!!
I don't know how this came up on my feed, but that boat you pulled out is pretty cool. Your boat looks like it would be great on the coast.
Jesus, lately these videos have been more infomercial than content it feels....
I agree its garbage 🗑
Thank you for the video.
Your new boat is a BEAST. That roll scared me for a real sec, have you guys looked at boat-recovery floatation bags? Could give water recoveries their own little floaties, then tow the target full or not. Not that this project needed it at all lol.
The comment section made my day. In the end, I'm positive that the assistance was well appreciated.
Every video I am amazed you guys do such a great job
I would like to see more tv show style restorations. I haven’t seen these guys restore anything start to finish in years it feels like
Sparks motors channel has all the building content!
@@HeavyDSparksI'm subed to all you're channels

Sweet and a outstanding job everyone
Lot of people talking a lot of smack about the recovery. But you guys did a great job
Great episode. I'm all caught up, started from 2 years ago! Took couple months but it's alright enjoyed it all.
This is by far the best team and couple that with the best equipment and you got the best of the best
I was just watching the clips yesterday on Snapchat Yall Be safe out there Good stuff 👍🏾
Love that boat.
And the vids you have made with it.
Seems like they are always in a rush and More stuff gets damaged in the Process. I agree bags and pumping it would have been better then what they did
Great job. I love the boat.
Awesome machines and awesome men!
Hopefully its makeover includes a full rebuild on both engines, and performance upgrades to really make the power!!! 👍🤘
Nice, cannot wait til your boat is completely restored and equipped, it will be a Bad A$$ Beast! From SE Texas Bear
Nice one Heavy D great job
Love how they lost all of the glass and windows that were in the boat into the river
That is one fine river boat D and an exciting rescue. Thanks
Can’t wait to see the build of this boat
As always you guys did it again😅 Thank-you and May God Bless all of you 🙌 🙏 ❤️

Stellar job!
That boat come up on plane, just from pure pulling power. Nothing but power, so cool
Great boat and great job as always. I can’t wait till Erik get the new paint job on it then it really will be twice as fast
Wow! It was neat to see that boat refloat after being upside-down. Good job!
Did we see that?
@@brianb5086 no but we did see the boat upside-down and then next moment it was upright. He explained what happened!
Best chanel on youtube
Just waiting for the video where you buy a swedish Combat boat 90H (CB90) - Originally called "Stridsbåt 90H". The US navy has a few and they love them, so do many other countries. They can be found on the civilian market atleast in Europe, don´t know about the US. They can go almost anywhere because they are made for shallow water operations. They stop from full speed in 2,5 boatlenghts by reversing the waterjets, that´s a rush i tell ya.
You got me with the heli in the thumbnail! Great video regardless.
Dang it Dave. I’m already having a heavy flow day. Then you put this stress on me. Lol
Well done USMC SURC Small Unit Riverine Craft
Nice work, bro
That was amazing!!!
I’ve commented before but I never know if you see them because there’s so many people commenting. If you want to try running a jet boat with your same set up (twin 400 hp turbo diesels with Hamilton marine pumps ) but all electronic controls (joystick docking, power steering and helm modes) you’re welcome to try the Osprey (36’ Hinckley picnic boat) any time. I’m in Camden Maine on the Atlantic Ocean. A beautiful spot. Would definitely make some great content.
Great to see the life jackets!
You guys sure smash up a lot of people's things whenever you do these "recovery's" 😂😂😂🤪🙃
Incredible what a beautiful boat
Land, sea, or air. These guys can recover anything!
That boat is so amazingly badass!!!
