This was me up until about 2 years ago. I tried so hard and did every thing I could to be a good friend but every time, I would find out sooner or later that they were toxic and the "friendship would quickly end.
But then I met my best friend (and because of meeting that friend, I was able to be reunited with my lifelong best friend that I've known since I was a baby!)
You'll find true friends one day, trust me. It may take a little while, or it may take no time at all. But once you do, life is so much better! Just keep on doing what you do are doing and you'll find some true friends soon enough! 😊

Well my friends don't laugh with me mostly they laugh at me. They just focus on themselves and ignore me. They lie all the time. They're always "too busy" to hang out. They always talk about boys even though they know i'm a lesbian and they make fun of my pride. They never listen to me. They think if i don't like something they say or do i'm being a bad friend. Well... seems like i have found fake friends🙂

After having a horrible time with people my age,and fake friends, when I went in a new school, making friends or even talking to people was not what I wanted to do. But after a while, I eventually made one friend of a girl who wouldn’t stop trying to talk to me. After many years, we’re still friends and has helped me make more, so I’m really thankful that my friend didn’t give up on an angsty, scared young girl

i remember this one time, i was crying in music class, my closest friends asked me how i was and i said i was fine, but they knew something was wrong, so he stood there and encouraged me to cheer up! he made me smile and laugh. he is truly the best friends anyone in this universe could ask for; he has my back, he is supportive, and overall an amazing friend. he will always be in my heart, and i will always love him. I just watched this video and nearly started crying. It instantly made me think about two special people in my life. The different paths we took in life separated us and we barely communicate, but every time we do, it's as if we'd never been apart.
If one of us notices the other one is feeling sad or anything like that, we leave everything else aside and care for one another, no matter how far we are apart.
I'm grateful for having two amazing friends like them.

My best friend graduated a month ago, and given that he’s a year ahead, I won’t see him in person for awhile.
Good thing we’ve made plans to meet up when we’ve both stabilized our lives!
I watched this and figured out that me and my best friend are all of these. Even today, we are the best of friends and always see each other when we can. I moved away about a year and a half ago and constantly go and visit my hometown. She never forgot me and always accepts who I am and is not afraid to say what she says. I love her so much and she has made the biggest difference in my life. I hope that everyone finds a friend as good as she is.

Remember that if your bestfriend doesn't do some of these doesn't mean they aren't a true friend, for example, me and my bestfriend don't encourage nor make much time for eachother, but we still care about eachother. Just remember, a real true friend will support you no matter what you're going through, maybe not in the best way, but they will make the effort to. Also remeber bestfriends will accept you even if they have second thoughts.

I have good friends, but some moments shared with people I don’t know have a much stronger impact on me. For example, I was in science class once and my friend was off. We were doing an experiment with the people next to us so I joined a three with two other students who I barely knew at the time, and yet they treated me the same way they treated each other. They made me feel welcomed and valued in a way my best friends never could. They dont interact with me as much as that one lesson, but that memory will always stay in my head, because if us three make a better attempt to be friends we might end up closer than the people I label my best friends now.

I always struggled with this idea. In order to feel that void of loneliness, I tried to fill it with so many people. But it only exacerbated the feeling.
In reality, the principle of "less, but more" rings more true here than not.

Im crying. My friend and I check every one of these signs. We've known each other for over a decade. She drove an hour once to spend a day with me during a really hard time in my life. Whenever we hangout we have sore throats afterwards because we've laughed so much. We both cry at the mere though of not having each other. I really hope everyone can find a best friend like her in their lifetime. Being able to share the hardest things with each other and being able to laugh at the tiniest and silliest things. Best friends are such a blessing.

Watching this, I thought of my friend who I've known since childhood. I can tell her anything and she listens without judgment. She even gives opinions and suggestions without hurting my feelings. Recently, I told her about another childhood "friend" (I use air quotes cuz based on this video, that person isn't a real friend) who hurt me by saying something awful. We were walking around our neighbourhood when I told her this and when we were near a bakery, she's like "lets go inside!" and I've NEVER told her that I tend to eat sweets when I'm upset. The thing was, I didn't have money (cuz we were only going for a walk around the neighbourhood), so she said we'd come back another time so I could get something. But she still bought two croissants and then told me that I should get the free sample that the bakery had cuz I couldn't get anything. She knew exactly how to make me feel a little better even without me telling her and even went around the issue when I didn't have money. It was amazing and I love her ❤
Commenting this after a heart to heart with my friend. I didnt have a lot of people I could trust, and wasn’t able to kerp cobtact on top of that. As such, I developed severe abandonment issues. Thankfully, after telling my friend this, she affirmed that she's here to stay in my life, and I couldn't be happier. Thank you, Maria😌❤

I love these videos! Now in college I have an amazing group of friends!!!! I have held on to people from over the years and I have always had a lot of friends but the reality is I have cut a lot of people off!!! The thing is I had friendships over the years that were a complete waste of my time and situations where it was so not a friendship I was being bullied!!! But I just couldn’t admit it to myself!!! You know it when you have found real people and the people that are meant to be in your life will be in your life and nothing will stop them from being in your life!!! There are times I’m with my friends and I just smile and feel like crying tears of joy because I think back to all those times I was disrespected and couldn’t be my true goofy loud and extroverted self. Or people wouldn’t appreciate it my friends all appreciate it and embrace it and I can have fun with them!!! Thank you for posting this. I really needed it. Right now I'm dealing with something with my best friend at school. Earlier last week, I couldn't taste. And I decided to let my friend know just incase she started showing symptoms of covid-19. Unfortunately, I thought that I could trust her to not tell anyone. Well, I was wrong. Since she's diabetic she has to check her blood sugar, so when it was almost the end of the day, I was in my 9th hour class, Math, and my teacher gets a call from the nurse. She told my teacher that I needed to go down to her office. I started to panic a little bit because I didn't know why I got called down. The nurse explained to me and said since I couldn't taste I would need to get tested. Now if I got tested without my parents permission, there would be a problem between the school and my parents. Now the nurse called my mom and asked if it was okay if I got tested. She said yes, and I got tested. Unfortunately, it came up with a slight red line. The nurse said that it was just the beginning of covid, and I would have to quarantine till the symptoms went away. Now that I have been home for 2 weeks now, I'm starting not to trust my best friend, because this is the 3rd time she's snitched on me. I just wish that she would have kept her mouth shut. She's been ignoring me for 2 weeks now. I go back to school on Monday, I'm afraid to go back because I'm afraid it'll happen again.
I asked my friend through text to help me with my homework and since she hasn’t learnt that chapter yet, she was willing to learn the whole chapter for me.

No offence to you, but maybe you are? Sorry but I am just trying to look at things from a different perspective. People grow and change, maybe the bond/quick wasn’t there anymore with your bestfriend. Maybe they are growing up while you are still stuck in still an immature mindset. It’s always good to look at yourself and maybe have a think IS IT you that might of been the problem? That is a step in becoming mature in itself. Recently I learned my best friend has some views that I don’t agree with generally, but I worked through my thoughts on his views and I’ve come to a conclusion that someone’s views don’t change a friendship by any stretch. We see each other as brother and we always call each other brother/bro. I’m so grateful he’s part of my life regardless of beliefs and/or views.

I was a true friend, I cared for my friends, I would make jokes to cheer them up. I would always be there for them, and I didn't judge them for what things they liked. I was a pretty nice friend.... but then in Middle School... I lost my friend. I still don't really know why. They still were in the same classes, and they still were in the same school. It's just all the sudden they weren't hanging out with me anymore, and when I would talk, they would tell me, "Shut up". Even if I was barely talking. I still miss being their friend... 😔

I thought about my best friend when watching this, this whole list got checked off, I’ve known my best friend since 2nd grade and he is the best thing to have ever existed in my life and I love him dearly. We live in different states which is very hard to deal with but when I come to visit it’s all worth it. We’ve had some ups and downs and even cut each other off once, but we rekindled and are now even closer. I’m so proud of him and I’m so glad I can call him my beloved best friend.
The fact that I always devote to every friendship, but it falls apart. I always encourage and I'm there for everyone during their hard time, may not be the best in advices and a shoulder to cry on, but I'm there to listen and look out for you. But I've never got that back, it's like I'm always being ranted on, and never been the one consoled...they rarely talk to me nowadays and ignore when I text them, but whenever they need something, they'd text me back, and me being the soft person I am, i can't ignore them..

I have really good friends, and I'm so thankful and grateful that I have them...but I think that the main reason I have friends who are honest and make time for me and are supportive and understanding is because I have been that friend to them.
I found my real and true friends at my worst. We will lose some, but during your darkest times, the people who really care about you will support, help, and be with you no matter what. I am thankful that I already found them. They may be busy, but true and real friends will be there for you through good and bad times.

I am friends with this one person and to me they’re the best friend I’ve had in my whole life I’ve never been the happiest with someone but I remember when one day they literally said “I wish I had a best friend” that simple sentence broke me completely it felt like all the times we spent together meant nothing to them, all the times they made me happy, all the times we laughed together, all the times they told me something that bothered them was just a lie, a joke and it hurts it really hurts, I know it’s just a simple sentence that couldn’t mean much, but as someone who’s never had a genuine friend or someone to actually call their friend, it really hit me. It felt like to them my existence didn’t matter, but everyone is just the same no one will ever care for me. It just hurts soo much cause with that happening I don’t want to get close with anyone anymore. You can laugh with people and feel happy but at the end of the day can you really call them your friend? But honestly this was just me dumping this out cause I don’t have anyone to consult this with.

He was telling i Couldn't do anything right.have flaws regarding my socializing...and the struggle im doin to get over with,he sees it as not a struggle...i went hurted and stopped talking to him and the group...He is always like this yk...can't blame him for that..He has things of own too...But after seein this video...Maybe he was right along the point.Now putting much efforts now.Now i see why he like this to me when comes to my problem.I wasn’t pushing myself hard.So...he gave me this boost.Welp thanks for this.I do have friends like in this video. ❤

There was something like that with my best friend a year ago. We barely talked for a year, she was going out with friends she knew for 1/2 months. But I reconnected with her and now our friendship is even stronger. Sometimes you have to let the person for a period of time, maybe some months. Than try to connect with them again and be active. If it doesn’t feel like before, maybe it wasn’t meant to be and you have to let them go so you can find the right people.

A true friend doesn't judge you for your mistakes; they stand by you. One time at work, my boss and her chef colleague took me to the office. The chef lectured me for touching my coworkers so much. *_Casually,_* like on arms and shoulders. I was always very outgoing and tactile at work. The chef told me that we need the workers to be comfortable in a good work environment. That I shouldn't talk about anything other than work and school or tell my stories, because they may be inappropriate or upsetting (can't remember her exact words) to others. Now yeah, I didn't have a great filter, especially as a guy with ASD, but I don't think I said anything _horribIe_ (and no, the chef never specified my comments). I only meant to have fun with my crew. I didn't mean any harm or discomfort. If I had known anyone would feel either, (though technically no one showed signs), I would've been much more careful. And besides, people casually touch each other; that's how I always saw/meant it. I felt the chef was being disrespectfuI. She was right in some ways, yeah, but a formal lecture in the office with the two of them, instead of a delicate one-on-one chat in a hallway? I don't agree with that. And I felt awfuI when she said to my boss, "Is there anything you want to add"? So cold and insensitive.
But my friends pointed that out. They told her how she mishandled the situation. How I deserved some respect. They didn't judge me when I explained why I was down; they listened, nodded, and said they totally understood. And the chef just happened to arrive at the coffee shop we were at (they recognized her from our university's dining webpage) My friends told her off, and my buddy from high school said, "You know what? Give the guy a break. John's made some mistakes, yeah, but he is learning from them. Thing is, he could've learned with a little patience and understanding from you." His girlfriend said, "Yeah, you didn't have to make him out to be a fooI or a cr eep. He isn't those things at all. _'Is there anything you want to add?'_ How could you say that to your colleague, right in front of John?" And her roommate was like, "And you told John he could only shake hands and talk about work and school? That limit is too far. There's this little thing called 'compromise.' What are you trying to do? Civilize him to be better? Make sure he doesn't become a big Ioser? Maybe the first person who should change is _you."_ They are true friends; they treated me with tact and stood up for me, even though I had messed up. Some of us--especially with ASD--just need a little more patience and acceptance.
I have met my true best friend about 2 years ago, she always stayed with me, she stayed with me at my worst and helped me trough everything, she litterally gave me the motivation to stay alive, she shows all of theese sighs and I'm beyond glad to have been this lucky to have met her, she accepts me for who I am, I am not be the best person but I'm. Trying so hard to be a good friend qwq. Same, mine is my only friend who actually respects my ptsd and tries to avoid it and doesnt just go “oh you’re just faking it for attention” or actively tries to trigger it for a “joke” or “funny” even though it was a really traumatic experience that genuinely makes me feel really sad.

It took me a long time and a lot of heartbreak to realize that in order to find a true friend, I have to BE a true friend
In my opinion, true friendships are VERY rare, nearly impossible, because all the people that we call "friends" come and go. They end up not even remembering who you are after a time of not seeing eachother (e.g. the summer holidays after school going in another education cycle) or, maybe the worst for you (psychologically speaking), finding another person that have more interests and replacing you. No one, except for the own family, really cares about you. And yeah that's reality ig.

i think that i would be happy even if i had fake friends. it would be even okay if they disliked me. as long as someone would at least pretend to pay attention to me, i would be SO happy. but i was born wrong, never learned to socialise because of that, and here i am, rambling under a happy friendship video that i decided to watch so that i would know how to fantasise about not being alone, to cry meaningless tears. thanks for the video, it's really sweet, even if i personally can't relate.

She body shamed me, she insulted me, she hit me, she ridiculized me, and also she was so popular, so everyone thought she was doing awesome. Idk why I said this in past when it's literally happening right now. But I have a friend, who is going through the same thing witht the same friend, and we are trying to figure out a solution with a childhood friend of the bad friend. Hope it goes well.

I recently had lost a friend because of her actions, and her talking behind her friend’s backs. There are many more reasons of this, but here’s the story.
She was hanging out with me and my other friends, and she was getting very mean and snappy. Ever since I was younger, (first grade, maybe, I’m still pretty young) I met her with with one of my other friends. She looked quite nice and I befriended her, but later, she started getting rude and she started to talk behind her friend’s backs, so I told my friends. They got mad at her, and we didn’t talk to her for a while, but then, she stole my other friend’s bike, put it in her garage, and started to close it. He told her to stop, and she started to hit him hard and punch him. My friend and I had watched the whole thing. I told my mom about it, and we haven’t talked to her since. She is moving soon, so we don’t have to worry about that. Anyways, if you see any signs of a fake friend, tell someone that you trust immediately. I struggle with anxiety, and this made it worse. I still grieve about all of the good times we had together, and that it was all fake. If you read this whole thing, thank you for your time.

My best friend Julia and I have been friends since we were born (our mothers are best friends and went to school together) and I'm so lucky to have her she's is the best friend I could've asked for and even though we never went to the same school we were always close. I'm only 11 days older than her (we are both 18 now) and at this point she isn't even my friend anymore ... she is my sister. We couldn't be more different in some ways but we learned to appreaciate that.
She is the truest friend imaginable and I'm so thankful to know her.

Thing to remember with friends:
-Quality over quantity. It doesn’t matter how many friends you have, what matters is if they’re true to you.
-Time & Relationship means nothing. It doesn’t matter at all if they’ve been your friend for long, it matters if they’re real or not.
-Stand up for yourself. If they feel toxic to be around, they’re most likely not deserving of you, and they’re probably the ones you should leave. Toxicity meaning like calling you names, telling you jokes about serious topics which aren’t funny, and pulling down your self esteem in general. Most of the time you notice this by listening to them calling you a party pooper and all that stuff and they force you to do stuff you don’t want to do.
