That item you said was for picking up logs is for picking blocks of ice, My dad worked for a ice company when i was little and used 1 or 2 of them to carry 5 or 10 or 50 or 100 pound blocks of ice , He had a leather apron that covered his back to so he could carry the ice on his back.
That was befor people had refridgerators they had Ice Boxes
Ice tongs. Seen those when my grandmother had a ice box. Yes I'm old. Lol
Vanilla "Ice Ice" Tongs :)
Flipper! "They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightening..." I miss that show :(
That was the best growing up :)
7:03 It's called a bolo tie, I wore one on my wedding day along with a matching belt buckle,we're Texan so yeah.
Jeremy.... Those tongs sure look like the ice tongs the ice man used when he brought the ice for our ice box when I was little. Now I'm 77 years old, and we didn't get an electric refrigerator until I was about 9 or 10 years old. I'm 77 now. Love your videos!
Vanilla "Ice Ice" Tongs :)
14:01...I was always led to believe those were tongs to pick up large cubes of ice, when you had ice delivered for your ice box
Vanilla "Ice Ice" Tongs :)
There's always exactly 239 beans in Irish bean stew because one more would make it too farty.
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha... best comment EVER!
torchandhammer lmao
Hey that's my joke!!
Hi, I think that log picker upper thingy was used to pick up blocks of ice back in the day. Stay healthy you two 😷😉
Your spinning drill thingy is called a brace. When you add one of those pointy spiral thingy into the chuck, it becomes a brace and bit..
I find Brace and Bits all the time :)
Those wooden items kind of looks like the sides of a kids wagon! Great finds Jeremy! Hey to George too!
You're right now that you mention it ... WHOOPS!
Ice tongs to carry block ice. ?? Instead of log Carrier.??
Flipper is a kid safety item. It goes over the tub spout so it won't cut or hurt kiddos (and adults). You attach them with silicon so you can clean them and make sure they are staying on. The vintage hand drills have caps at the top of the handle usually. When screwed off they have drill bits to use in them. Love those old drills. Those old red handled scissors are called kitchen shears. They were used for cutting, crushing (walnuts too) and separating meats and vegies. I wish I still had mine. Wiss made all kinds of scissors and their pinking shears are the best for sewing clothing, the dressmaking scissors are well worth sharpening again and again by professionals.
Thanks for the wealth of knowledge :)
36:35 Drink charms for wine glasses at parties, so you can remember which is yours.
The primitive items that are animated by the wind are called Whirlygigs in the South.
Who invents these words?
The Patch on the soldier in the WWII pictures is Technician Fifth Grade.
Thanks for letting us know ... that's great!
17:00 That is a Knee Hugger Elf Christmas ornament which were primarily made by the Yuletide of Japan company in the 50's & 60's. It was the true inspiration for the reinvented Elf on a Shelf fad.
Thanks for letting us know ... we were really curious :)
I Googled "C & E Marshall" and that kit looks to be a vintage watchmaker's tool kit! Couldn't find the exact one but maybe you can. Other types of tools by that company are selling at $$ on ebay!
That's great news ... thanks for letting me know :)
31:31, Palzgraff pottery is good stuff...
Oh GREAT! How good? How much money are we talking?
flipper goes over the water spout in the bath tub so kids dont hit their head when taking a bath
Why are kids head banging in the bath?
@@WhatTheHales well because they are crazy goof balls like you and dont know how to behave in the bath tub lol
I think it's older. I remember those water toys that you squeeze in the tub or pool & it squirts the water.
The keys are from American Tourister Luggage Company.. My Daddy used those old hand drills all the time. He had a shed with old tools. It was a tool lovers paradise.
The log picker uper as you referred it to I believe are ice Tong's to move blocks of ice
Vanilla "Ice Ice" Tongs :)
Ice tongs had two handles on each side and the points were really sharp. They needed to be sharp so the points would jab in really deep to survive the trip to the kitchen and the ice box. The tong that the Hales found is a tong for skidding logs out to the skidder trail where they were hooked up to slide to the log loader or dragged to the river to float down to the mill. The logging tongs had chain between the ends to hook on to the skidder. I limbed and bucked pulp to the skidder lane one summer and I thought it would be the death of me. Bucking pulp is manhandling (or woman) a green wet 8 ft. log upright so it was vertical and then pushed to the other side toward the skidder lane. Do that 50 times a day.
The dolphin thing I think can be put on the end of the bath tub spout ...
Then how would you take a bath :)
@@WhatTheHales after the bath is full silly it's a toy and seen them used for baby's so not to bump there little fublenutz noggin
American Tourister made suitcases. Those keys are for the locks. I believe they were all universal. I can't believe you broke the box to the Micro Stove. You just reduced it value immensely!
Hahahahahahahahaha... the value of the micro stove box? $20 new ... I'm going to use it
@@WhatTheHales See, Jeremy. That's why you can't have anything nice! :P bahaaha
Bolo tie I have several of my uncles. Luggage keys, sides to an old sled not a BBQ. So little kids could ride, they slid down in slots of sled .
YOLO with your BOLO :)
The inside of the red scissors are for opening bottles. And the package of Pucker charms are for putting around the stems of wineglasses. (36:38) They are colorcoated so you can tell which glss is yours. And the Elf on the Shelf, lol, I think is one of the Rice Crispies boys. I might be wrong. 😀😀. Have a great night.
It does look like a Rice Crispy Guy (or whatever they are)
8:42 scissors with jar lid opener
Or ice carrier instead of a log gripper
Vanilla "Ice Ice" Tongs :)
yeah, I think it's an ice to pick up like 25 lbs. of ice,
I know old but that monkey was curious George
The green ceramic cups are restaurant small wares. The # is the style/size of the item and the "H" stands for the company, Hall. Those look before my time...and I started in the biz some 50 years ago.
WOW...thanks for the wealth of knowledge :)
Conneaut Lake Park is an amusement park near me in Crawford County, Pa. At one time it was THE place to go for us kids every summer in the 1970s and early 80s.
I actually owned that same glass mug you found in the tote. Probably not worth much but very cool you found that in there.
Ah, memories. Lol
Glad we can be a part of bringing back such good childhood memories :)
AAAAAhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jeremy Please When you find something delicate like those potentially very valuable set it aside to the end then take the time to carefully
look at then look it up and from there you can decide want you want to do. The prints should be carefully taken to an art appraiser. I inherited one of these print many years ago and sold it for $400 That was before the internet. I stopped to make this comment because I like some others gasped as soon as you unrolled the first one and to see you toss it in the bin well my friend as much as I love and watching your videos you gave me real total butt pucker. And now back to What the Hale$ :)
It's an honor to know that I made someone's butt pucker :)
I stopped watching Storage Wars because of the way Bernie threw things around when he was going through his units. If don't know what it is or what it's worth, set it aside. The Remington prints may have value.
@@bighornriver1648The prints are garbage ... they are filled with mildew
@@WhatTheHales i do't think you get it.
@@paulmclaren8327I don't think you get it :) You don't do this on a daily nor do you have any understanding of my multiple businesses or my business plans :)
Fishing contest is a printer’s block. That would’ve been most likely an ad for a newspaper, possibly for a magazine. Printer’s trays (actually were once drawers in cabinets) were very collectible about thirty years or so ago. People would put various trinkets in them and hang them on their walls. We did that. We were foreign missionaries, and worked full-time for 17 years. The trinkets in ours are very precious to us. We collected them along the way in multiple countries, and they represent many memories.
The “H” on the bowls, probably from Hall Pottery. Hall teapots are very collectible, so I’d guess that the bowls were, too. The finish on the bowls are identical to those on the Hall teapots.
The box with tiny vials with tiny parts-most likely belonged to a service/repairman, for use on “calls” to homes for repairs.
The tiny oil can at 43:25. I’d like to know more about it, if copper? If you still have it, cost, etc., please?
The green balls at 39:00 ish, I’d think that those might’ve been “Clackers” without the rope that once connected them.
The lining of the antique soft rifle case at the end, wow! It was so beautiful that I’d consider it art. Sincerely. 😃
It reminds me so much of my childhood...same style as the art used in children’s books at that time. I could easily imagine that hanging on a wall in a man cave as an embellishment.
Hope these tidbits helped you identify a few things. 😊
Hey Jeremy, I think the bicycle you found is a weather vane sometimes called a wind vane for telling the direction or speed of the wind. If it is older you soould make about $100 off of it. Glen & Joy/Bakersfield,Ca.
Let's hope so! That would be incredible!
43:25 those tongs are for picking up blocks of ice, I believe.
We returned bottles as a kid and used money for vacations.... you got some moonshine LOL
Did I ever :)
Still have nose hairs?
@@paulanull8731A few :)
PFALTZGRAFF you wanna look up... it's collectable
How do you pronounce that without choking on your tongue :)

that ring is awesome Jeremy what a Hales of a unit great stuff love you both ❤️
Or large cubes of ice
Never can have enough ice :)
Which pair are the poultry scissors?
@@xltranger98Are you sure ... because I'm ready for a barbecue ;)
@ john p you are the best, I was trying and trying to remember where I had seen those before. Thank you.
@@WhatTheHales the ones that you thought were for walnuts. Plus you can use them to open small lids as well. Basically all purpose kitchen scissors
The green Pottery I believe it is Hull's pottery
Can you time stamp it in the video so we know what you're referring to?
Looks like a very old class ring, totes are great oldies in them !
There's no school like the old school :)
Metal milk cans will rust inside if lid is on ,found out the hard way, love the wind lawn ornament that's my love of the unit
This one is rusting for sure :(

When you don’t pay your monthly rental

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
those keys are vintage American Tourister bellhop luggage keys from the 1960s. they can be collectable. one guy was turning them into bracelets and selling them for about 16 bucks and those two prints that were in the cardboard tube were part of a 3 picture collection that usually sells on ebay for about 15 dollars in good condition. too bad
C&E marshal company supplied equipment for watch makers and repair workers. those probably were used for holding small watch pieces.
So it's a watch repairer tool kit? So cool!
Dear Jeremy I wonder if people know that what we call World war 1 , was not called as such in the first place! It was called the Great War . So they were not expecting a second one 21 years later.
My mom had those same kitchen scissors, the round party we used for grabbing the to of jars to help open up.
They really are a little too wide for cracking most nuts or bones
the lighter in the tool box is a pipe lighter
Maybe I'll find the pipe next?
@ 7:11 - bolo tie
Oh yes...that's what they are called :)
19:56 you NEVER shake the 8 ball lol...just turn it over ask the question then flip it up to read the answer... Lol such fun as a kid...
I was unaware of proper 8 ball procedures :)
@@WhatTheHales not trying to be critical it's just that I remember telling my kids the same thing ...its the bubbles. Lol
Those triangle shaped rulers are engineer’s scales with several measuring methods, ergo inches, metric units, tenths for surveyor measurements. These were used in drafting class and by draftsmen.
C and E Marshal viles were watch internal parts if im not mistaken.
Other viewer and google would agree with you :)
bolo tie
Oh yes...that's what it is :)
At 9:28 that lens is for a old school film/ slide projector
Lots of great treasures. The ring might be a class ring. ❤️
If you stopped uploading so late I could go to bed earlier. Argh
If it didn't take so long to edit, process and upload the videos, I'd be working a normal 8 hour day like the rest of the world instead of 18 :)

@@WhatTheHales the 2 min showing wire bike with wind catching cups in a circle. 😎
Technically it's a kinetic sculpture, but it doesn't look like it's in very good shape.
The thing with the police Dept patch is called a bolero tie. American Tourister is a luggage (suitcase) company.
No if I could only find the luggage :)
The small pitcher that you thought might be for milk is actually a display piece and it sits in the white dish you found @28:31. The ones I’ve seen in the past were larger (both my mom and my aunt had one).
Oh wow...thank you for letting us know :)
You really didn't recognize Pfaltzgraff and the wagon sides earlier on in the video immediately? The "Eau de Toilet" as perfume? Dude. C'mon.
I reckon you have to play to the viewers, but your seemingly lack of knowledge of basic antique and old items is disturbing give what you do.
I love watching but it is frustrating at times and he is so rough with stuff LOL look out George!
WHOOPS! I buy storage units ... I resell items from storage units
Plus this would end my hobby of answering questions if he knew all about stuff and was careful. It gives me something to do when I can't sleep at night. Keeps the ol' ticker active and this isn't my only stop either. I bug other folks too so don't feel alone. lol
@@WhatTheHales but you could really increase your earning potential if you knew when to be more careful with certain items. On the other hand, maybe I'm just jealous that the items are in your hands rather than mine!! :D
Luggage keys
I don't think there is any luggage with this unit so all I have is the keys :)
@@WhatTheHales Those type of keys could be used to open trunks.

They were American tourister suitcase keys, those were bell hops or renditions of one imprinted on the keys. Very cool they have to be pre 1970's.

My iron is the first one I bought way back in 1977.
It still works.
@1406 THE SKIDDING TONGS ARE MADE BY A COMPANY CALLED COWAN. =) BEEN AROUND FOR A LONG TIME!
At the time 13:39 are Ice Tongs for handling large blocks of ice. They probably belonged to an ice company years ago when people used to have non electric ice boxes for food. The ice man would bring a big block of ice to put in the ice box. What you can not read there on the tongs might be the name of the ice company.
Vanilla Ice Ice Tongs :)
The skeleton key in the last box seems identical to the backdoor key I had many years ago to a very old house in the UK. My late Dad said it was older than any lock and key he had seen before. The ring is a great find, did you ever find out what it was commemorating Jeremy and George? Take care my friends and good luck Mary-Ellen UK
old scissors are to open bottles and jars, love those, my mom has a pair
When sniffing a bottle of unknown substances it’s best to take off the cover and waft it towards your nose. Never sniff straight to your nose. Taught to me by my chemistry teacher
6:21 it is an external cigerate lighter box so you can have extra charge ports for a cell phone car chargers and also for a tv hook up
Do they actually work?
You probably know already but that Lionel Clock is very rare on the internet. May be big $. Huge fan!
31:40 is a printing plate if you don't know already.
Those green sphere things are probably knobs to a 1970s swanky bathroom faucet.

Dang... I wish I would have known about you guys when that dagger sold!!! That dagger for $20?? Hell of a deal!!
oh and the wiss scissors are actually kitchen shears used for cutting meat and chicken. they were also used for various other things around the house. unfortunately wiss is still around and kitchen shears are pretty cheap as a whole.

39:18 I believe the green monster beads go to a lamp. Rod that carries the wire goes up the center to the top light socket thingie. Some parts missing to put it together Base and top piece. Pretty glass!!!
That was my thought as well :)
12:38 Those Wooden slat things...they are sides to a flat bed Radio Flyer Wagon. I have one in my garage...it belonged to my kids years ago. There's printing on one of the pieces...you turned it print side down. LOL.
Are there holes in the bottoms of the vertical pieces?

Hi J! The red scissors are old kitchen ones. The inside of the handles is for opening jars. My mum still has her pair! Keys are from luggage (american tourister). Are the tong things for wood or ice? Hmmm. C&E Marshall vials were for watchmakers or jewelry, . Might be a collector piece! k

about 29.45. C and E Marshall. They made watch and jewellery repair tools etc.
It's got to be a little repair kit :)
The design of the image on the ring was made for the 1933 Chicago World's Fair as the official poster of Century of Progress and designed by George B Petty. It depicts Miss Chicago with the city's motto "I Will" and is inviting the world to the exposition. The Indian recalls the Chicago of 1833.
It’s not a log carrier it was for carrying blocks of ice for really old coolers. Tks Doug
Did you used to have one?
Bell and Howell sold photographic equipment such as slide projectors and cameras.
Do you think that's what it's for?
I loved the Lionelville railroad travel train bank with coin sorter. they go for about 15 bucks give or take. but thats if its working. it actually has a speaker and when you drop a quarter in it you would hear the conductor say all aboard.
