DIY Easy Chicken Nesting Boxes

This diy easy chicken nesting boxes video shows nest box plans using some scrap plywood lumber. My homestead farm has a coop with chicken nest boxes, but I needed more. Hens will often share nest boxes, but prefer to lay eggs in their own space. In order to prevent chickens from laying eggs on the floor, I show how I build a couple double-wide nest boxes.

Clever idea! I just finished cleaning out an old chicken house-shed and was contemplating what I should do for nesting boxes. I like that this uses the dead space between the studs.

Are the chickens happy with it or was there theft of egg when brooding and rivalry between them? Something I'm thinking of doing myself.. it is a good idea 😊
