Javy gave me my love of baseball back. After 1995 I couldn’t watch Cubs baseball. Then came #9 and he electrified Wrigley in the field as well as his bat. He plays because he loves to play. I’m so happy that I got to watch the Cubs win the Series in 2016 with my son. He passed away 4 months later. But for those seven games we had our life long dream of the Cubs winning the World Series. And Javy gave that to us. #cubs #baez #ElMago

I'm all about the Baez. Best with the glove. Best with running the bases. I mean that swim move is undeniably the best ever. BUT, I will give Tatis the edge with a bat. I think if Baez didn't try to absolutely crush the ball every swing, and dialed it down a bit and got more contact...then maybe. But Tatis does get it with the bat.

Javy is unlike anything I've ever seen. His base running is mind blowing and somehow he makes tagging players out an exciting play. I'm also biased being a Cubs fan, but nonetheless, I just have never seen anything like it.

I enjoy them both, but Baez is just special to watch. Its like putting grace and artistry to the play of baseball. He makes tough plays look easy because it is all so fluid. Tatis is very athletic/great jumper, but he just doesn't have the same wow factor for me. He is a great hitter and baserunner though. Still, I could (and do) watch highlight reels of Javy over and over and still don't grow bored. Great defense lends itself far more to repeat watching then offense - you've seen one home run, you've seen them all with few exceptions.
Both are great for the game. I guess only time will tell!

Fielding wise, it's tough but I have to give it to Javi. Batting wise Tatis easily wins that, but when running on the base paths Javi pulls off the most magical stuff ever.

I’ve never understood why some people don’t like players like Baez or Tatis. It’s like they turn up their noses just bc of Tatis’ high error rate or Baez’s high swing-and-miss rate. All those stats say to me is that you gotta take risks if you’re gonna be an exciting player. You can play it safe and have low error rates, or you can go big. Who cares if a player has a high error rate when they’re also some of the most fun players to watch?
I love watching Cubs and Padres games, and whenever those two are up at bat I always drop what I’m doing and glue my eyes to the screen. Players like them demand attention. Baez’s recent winning homer against StL or Tatis’ recent tying run (which eventually won them the game) against the Astros should be enough proof.

Both are great players. However, Javy makes me sit at the edge of my chair. I'm always expecting him to pull a trick in the game. Anyone hits HRs, and anyone catches the ball. Only 1 can he named EL MAGO.

They’re both people that either strikeout or hit a homerun. They both bat flip like crazy and steal bases. They either make a good play, or try to make an easy play look so solo and just end up making an error.
