Excellent! Especially the part about twisting the riser to change direction of spray. I've done this for years, but always thinking that I am probably doing damage to the riser, its cylinder, or something else. But, guilt aside, it always worked for me. Now I learn that from a mechanical standpoint, it is actually OK to do this. I got a clue this morning that the procedure might not harm anything when I shined a flashlight down an empty cylinder and saw the thin plastic "fins" at the bottom of the cylinder. It seemed as though twisting the riser inside the cylinder to adjust spray direction would not likely harm the mechanics of the thing. And those fins together with the "teeth" on the bottom of the riser (the teeth that engage with the fins) would account for the slight resistance and the clicking noise I hear when twisting the riser. But of course I was not sure that my procedure was mechanically OK - until I watched your video. Thank you! And please feel free to take the rest of the day off.

I have searched & searched your website & the internet trying to figure out why after installing my sprinkler and getting the arc set, it would then spray in the wrong direction... Didn't know there was a correct way for it to face and turning the riser was possible or an option! Thank you again!

I have a zone with 7 - MP 3000 sprinklers. I've suddenly got 3 that pop up but will not rotate. Filters are clean and the other 4 work fine. What should I do now? If this is a flow problem and before I try to reduce the size on all sprinklers, would removing the filters help increase the flow? And if I turn off 2 or 3 sprinklers, I should probably turn off those that are operating normal and see whether it makes a difference in those that don't? Is there an internal mechanism that sometimes fails to rotate the sprinkler? Do parts wear out?

I checked and found no issues with water supply, power supply, solenoid valve (shows 24 ohms), nozzles obstruction, wiring, electrical connections etc. I noticed that when I fully open the bleed located at the solenoid valve for that zone the nozzles raise up without any problem. What can be the problem? Is there a video addressing this issue?

I have a ton of problems with my Toro 570's either sticking in the down position or the ratchet system will move and I end up watering a wall or the street. Even after adjusting in the correct position the ratchet will move over the next few watering cycles. I have had to replace many of my Toro's even after cleaning them. After 2 years this is when I see the problems I talked about. There are a large number of 570's both in my front and back yard. Each sprinkler is in the proper level position and they were not installed at an angle. I am at the point where I might change to a different brand other than Toro.

On the PGP-Ultra and I-20 rotors, they will ratchet 360 degrees when the arc is set for 360 degrees. Otherwise, the ratchet will stop at the "Right Stop" fixed point, but will not unscrew the base.
The riser adjustment system is designed to go back and forth to verify the limits for which you have set the Right Stop, and the Left Arc degree. Please see the product spec sheet attached below for more detailed information:

Good question about shutoff for a sprinkler. To completely shutoff a sprinkler with a spray nozzle its best to purchase a shutoff nozzle (916400SP) or a shutoff cap (213600SP) to completely shutoff the irrigation from that sprinkler. You can tighten the set screw in the middle of the nozzle to reduce the flow but you may have some water still leaking out once you have tightened it down as far as it can go. If you choose to tighten the set screw you must have a filter in order for it to work. Use this link to purchase a nozzle, cap, or other Hunter parts.
