  • The Valley of Fire State Park is located in the south of Nevada, about 50 miles or 80 kilometers to the east of Las Vegas. It’s the oldest and largest state park in Nevada and is known for its bright red sandstone formations that appear to be on fire during sunset. Filled with beautiful panoramic vistas, short hiking trails, petroglyphs, and scenic drives, the Valley of Fire makes for a perfect day trip from Las Vegas. In this ultimate travel guide we’ll highlight the things you need to know before you go as well as the best viewpoints and hikes in the park.
    🤔 Things to know before you visit the Valley of Fire State Park
    1. The Valley of Fire cannot be reached by public transportation and you’ll need a car to visit the park. It’s best to rent a car in Las Vegas or book a day tour from there.
    ☑️ www.getyourguide.com/las-vega...
    2. It costs 10$ per vehicle per day or 15$ for vehicles that are not from Nevada to enter the Valley of Fire State Park.
    3. The opening hours are from sunrise to sunset. Those are the best times to visit as well as it’s a lot quieter. The best seasons to visit are probably spring and fall when it’s pleasantly warm.
    4. There are two main roads that wind through the park:
    The Valley of Fire Highway runs west to east and this is where the two entrances are located. Mouse’s Tank Road runs from the Visitor Center to the north into the heart of the park. This is the most scenic part of the park.
    5. You need at least a few hours to visit the park and see the viewpoints. To have the best experience, we recommend exploring a full day. There’s enough to see if you want to spend two days as well.
    6. If you plan to spend two days here, there are two campsites near the west entrance of the park. The fee is $20.00 per vehicle, per night or $25.00 for non-Nevada Vehicles. It’s an additional $10.00 for sites with utility hookups.
    7. There are no restaurants or stores in the park so make sure to pack your food. The park has barbecues at certain parking lots that you can use if you bring your own coals.

      Thank you so much! ☺️ that’s a great time to visit… not too hot yet, but still sunny like most of the year is in that area!

    This is one of the best video guides to Valley of Fire I have seen. Well done.
    Quick addition/update: Valley of Fire has implemented a reservation system as of September of 2023. This includes reservations for entrance to the a,prk, and the ability to reserve a campsite. Campsites have always filled up fast in the park, so the new system allows you to plan ahead and be assured of a spot.

    Definitely a park with some very otherworldly scenery. Also important to note that many trails are closed from the beginning of June until the end of September.

    Best bet is to live in Nevada & buy an annual state park pass. You can camp in the state park or boondock camping in Lake Meade. Always carry water & snacks, even in winter.

    Very nice video and useful info. I was wondering if trails are marked, or it is easy to get lost? and also if there is phone service around the park trails? Thank you both!

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  Před 2 měsíci +1

      The trails are pretty straight forward! Especially the more popular ones, just follow the others! I don't think there was phone service as it's pretty remote out there.

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  Před 10 měsíci

      Pets are welcome, but they must be kept on a leash of not more than six feet in length. Pets are not allowed in the Visitor Center.

    Sucks that the best hike is closer the ONLY time I will ever be able to visit. Lol. Why not just put up warning signs and say bring water. Lol

      Yes that’s unfortunate. Maybe the rules will change by the time you get there?
