First of all, thank you, Larry, for this comprehensive video because I have been looking for such an actual video for a long time so that I can trust it and buy the shovel in question. Well, now I am sure what to buy.
Second, a British proverb says, "We have not been rich enough yet to buy cheap goods." 👌👌👏👏👍👍
@@alexametaldetector1402 I think you will love his diggers Alex.
Great video! Quality you can trust! Excalibur Shovels are engineered for metal detectorists! Patented as "The Metal Detectorist Digging Tool"
I’ve been eye balling the new Merlin shovel. Love that it breaks down plus you can switch shovel heads on it for different situations.
@@kody3377 you can get D & T handles and choose from 1-3 different spades 😮
@@TheKeyDateKid how much is each spade head? So it comes with one then you can buy 1-2 different sizes, correct?
I've been using my 40" long Wide Sir Kay Excalibur shovel for a couple of months now and I love it! The length and strength are outstanding.
Yes they are awesome!
I'm really happy to hear you are loving your Excalibur Stef! Keep digging up those super oldies!
You did a great 👍 job of reviewing these shovels. Thanks
Thank you.
I love my Merlin Excalibur shovel. Great 2 piece shovel I can travel with or easily put in my back pack for those Mountain hunts. By far best metal detecting shovel anywhere from a great man out of Utah.
You bet
Glad you love your Merlin! You have the standard spade and can swap to your WIDE spade if need be! Innovative 💡
Extraordinary..! Best video.. very nice day.. to work.. success always..! Greetings from Indonesian traditional gold seeker ❤️🇮🇩⚒️⛏️👍👍👍
I bought the Excalibur hand digger & the smaller sized shovel so when I’m hunting curb strips or in a park I’m not carrying around a large shovel drawing attention to myself.
Excalibur makes the best shovels in the market.
Been using the hand digger for 3 years and it’s good as new.
Yes Casey does an awesome job on them.
Good information. Thanks for posting.
I enjoyed your video.Thank you for snaring with us And have a great Week.
Thank you
I got a decent shovel. But wanted something more aggressive and sharp. Read a bunch of reviews today and I bought the sir kay with the t-handle. I got the black one. Wish I would of got a 2 tone color like yours that really stands out. Can’t wait to do some digging once it comes. Great video like always.
We got you on the two-tone! 🤠
Awesome great choice!
Great video thanks as always
Thanks for watching
Great detailed review!👍
Thank you
Very good explanation 👌👌👌
Nice review. Thanks!!
Thanks for watching
Great video!
Thanks
I have a shovel which is made by predator tools, a damn good shovel I might add, but I am in search of a strong trowel that is well built. I like the one you featured in your video.
It's a good one
Thank you Larry, you can tell that these are quality diggers!
Absolutely! Thanks for watching my friend
Newbie here. I am looking forward to searching in Maine this coming spring, but to do that I need tools with quality. This review and all your reviews help make the decision easier for the sandy/rocky soil in Maine. Thank you
Will you have any videos on the nitty-gritty of how to dive deep into property ownership and how to get approval? And where to look for "stuff"
Once the permission has been granted do you share your findings with the owner or is there something that is drawn up that states what you find is yours? What legal advice do you make towards this end?
Thanks for all your advice, help, and Happy Diggin' all y'all!
Hello Randall. I have some of that information on my channel and I believe in my recorded live streams. I recommend Dan Willis at outlawmetaldetectors.com for all of your metal detecting supplies. Tell him I sent you.
I have the Sir Kay patriot model from outlaw and I have the red and black trowel with sheath on the way from Outlaw Metal Detectors now too.
Awesome!
I bet that trowel will fit your digger sheath. Have you tried it yet? I love the Excalibur shovel too! Makes a ton of difference with the longer handle. Way less fatigue on a hunt.
Yes, quality all the way around!
The trowel should fit nicely in almost all sheaths.
i just ordered that same shovel, and unfortunately its back ordered. Do you know when he might get them in? also nice work with the videos :)
Did you check with Dan at outlawmetaldetectors.com
Matt you'll receive your Excalibur Shovel this coming week. 28-29 of July!
@@TheKeyDateKid awesome! Was that from Dan or Casey
@@TheKeyDateKid you guys rock! thank you :)
@@SodBustersMetalDetecting this is Casey
Cool
Thanks man
Your stomp pad modification would in my opinion , would be a great design change from the Excalibur builder. It wouldn’t add much weight. Great video Larry👍👍
Thank you
Excalibur Shovels standard spade automatically comes with wider foot steps on shovels 36" and longer. The wider foot steps are available on shorter shovels, at no additional cost, upon request. The wide spade has 7" of footstep.
Sadly he does not ship to Canada, Know if there is any suppliers in Canada selling the excalibur. Thanks.
I don't know if he has any Canadian vendors or not
@@SodBustersMetalDetecting thanks I will enquire with him.. I can buy directly from Excalibur but always like to support the small retailers as well before going directly to the source.
The Predator Tools Phoenix digs a much better plug.
Good review with good explanations. I have a Predator shovel, that is really well made, but Heavy! Something lighter, but just as well built and long lasting is good to know about!
Yes! Thank you for watching 😊
I love my excalibur shovel.. i def need to get the trowel though
You'll love it
@@SodBustersMetalDetecting ordering one on monday. been a few occasions i almost broke my cheap trowel lol
@@joshuasmith1794 quality saves frustration
I'm glad you are loving your Excalibur Shovel Joshua! 🤠
How do you lug around a 40" shovel while swinging?
The Excalibur isn't heavy
@@SodBustersMetalDetecting But I mean...do you swing in one hand and hold the shovel in the other the entire time, or strap it to a pack?
I swing with my right and carry the shovel over my left shoulder to prevent the detector from signaling on it.
I will like to have one please let me know that sounds good thanks again
If you are in the usa, contact outlawmetaldetectors.com to get one
Hi by any chance do you have any phone from this person or business? Please let me know thanks again my friend .
@@miguelornelas2838 if you are in the usa you can get them from outlawmetaldetectors.com let them know ow I sent you
Ok perfect mi friend you are the best .
Where are you at in idaho? I'm in Nampa
I'm in North idaho near Lewiston
All good information but different people have different needs when it comes to a digging shovel. I've never had my foot slip off the stomp pad of my Lesche but your feet are probably bigger than mine are. Also, the Excalibur is almost a pound heavier than the Lesche, which you might not notice but I definitely would. I still found this video informative and interesting so hope you do more in the future! Thanks!
I don't thing the shovels would weigh much different if they were the same size. My comparison is with different size shovels
The 40" T handle with a standard spade weighs just under 3.5lbs. The 31" Excalibur T handle standard spade weighs just over 2.5lbs, 2lbs 10oz.
@@TheKeyDateKid My Lesche is 31" and weighs 2 lbs 9 oz. The one he's reviewing is 40" and weighs over 3 lbs.
@@elisabethcole2571 I understand how the comparison in this video can be confusing. Your lesche has a 7"long x 4"wide spade. The Excalibur standard spade is 8"long x 4.25"wide. That's the closest equivalent Excalibur shovel to compare to your lesche. Larry has the WIDE spade 9"long x 7"wide. I reviewed lesches website... Any other size spade from Lesche is listed at 5lbs. 😳
best shovel i have seen is at Lowes for 30 bucks looks like this but alot better stomp pad
Buy once, cry once.
Have never had a problem with my Predator and from what I see where the bend is that connects the shovel blade to the handle on the Excaliber the Predator has stronger welds.
If you own a Predator you know what I am talking about.
I guarantee I can bend that shovel here in the SW Rocksylvania soil.
Roots can be fun too.
I wouldn't put money on that bet if I were you.
@@SodBustersMetalDetecting well I would and will lol. If you looked at the welds on the Predator Spartan for instance and how the blade is attached to the actual handle you wouldn't make the argument for the Excalibur.
There is a reason so many people are using those blue shovels.
Just another CZcams commercial.
