I agree with the Mudryk point though I feel the team is very one sided dominant. Palmer and Madueke link up on the right very well usually we’d have Gusto or James also attacking on the right. Conversely on the left we have Mudryk largely by himself as Cucurella is moving into midfield and Gallagher floats around the field. Jackson moves around a lot too.

Badie played well. Mudryk didn't lost to many passes. Noni helped in defense. Silva was cool and calming in defense. Petrovic was amazing in goal. Palmer was what we needed him to be. Jackson played well as a forward. Poch got the tactics right. We need to keep Poch and let him have a full season with all his players fit. Then we can make an assessment. Noni, Cucu and Gallagher have been the key to the situational tactical changers.
Although the formation of a box midfield is the same, how these 3 players now genuinely affect the game is up for serious discussion. The midfield has energy, bite and depth in it. It has completely unlocked Caicedo with driving runs and shared defensive responsibility.
Palmer is becoming more influential in build up, arguably further away from goal in certain moments. Noni becoming a danger with dribbling and a serious amount of shots that he is getting off.
Having Mudryk starting allows more play build up/possession down the right, and threat in behind down the left. The almost double wing play down the right with Palmer and Noni has been one of the true game changers and nearly impossible to play against.
    It’s phenomenal!

Gallagher is not up for discussion. Not only do I want to keep him, I want him to be permanent Captain, or at least vice captain. He is everything the team needs that’s hard to contextualise. People say his pressing, his energy, his tackles etc. To me it’s an Aura or presence. Just by being on that pitch, like Kante, the team knows they have spirit. They know they can turn to him and he will pick them up. They know that he will take away any nerves that they may have. They know he is the player that allows them to express themselves on the pitch. They know he will be involved in all aspects of the game. He will sacrifice himself for the team. He is a true warrior, with 10 lungs.
To have him, Caicedo and Cucu as warriors locking that midfield down in a press is a blessing to watch.

If we go on like this I really have to reassess my views. They say if you keep trying you'll get your reward, and I'm delighted Jackson, who I thought wasn't up to it, is proving me wrong. That Cucurella who was looking a misfit is becoming pivotal, that Caicedo is showing us why we paid so much for him, that Chalobah is getting the chance to demonstrate his worth. To all of them, I wish them all the best, and to Poch, at last he seems to have got the thing to click. Unless the last three games are disasters, removing him would be absurd. It would simply undo all he's achieved. Do we need a ÂŁ100m striker? To my mind, not if it means losing Gallagher, Chalobah, Gilchrist, and whoever else. Breaking up a young, winning team would be asinine.

Great content again. I just wish you would give more credit Cucarella ,when he inverts, he is way more effective than Enzo .He wins the ball more, and he gives it away less. The few times he's struggled at full back is down to Mudryk. Bowens second time hitting the bar, look back at Mudryks defending and that is what Cucarella has had to put up with all season.

Even at our worst this season, I’ve always said that Pochettino should be given 3 clear years with no talk of the sack. This is a young team and Pochettino’s record bringing through youngsters is excellent. And I don’t care, *any* coach would’ve struggled with the injuries we had. This is a new Chelsea! Let’s not be so reactionary like we have been in the past. Give the coach and the team time. Look at Arsenal and Arteta, if they sacked him when they were rubbish, would Arsenal be where they are now? I don’t think so. Give the coach time.

This is the kinda performance you get when you play individual players to their strength. Gallagher staying or leaving won’t have much effect on the team. I still feel CFC needs a coach that knows how to win consistently and have trophies in sight. Not sure Poch is the coach.

  • @florme6494
    @florme6494 Pƙed 21 dnem

I’m surprised that people think Poch is a problem, not a solution. I’ve been saying it the whole way through. If you watch his tactics, mannerism, his vision, his relationship with staff and players he is a leader and hope for success.
I understand that people analyse on wins vs losses. Position on the table. The things that couldn’t be overcome by other managers were: Potter looked like he’d loss control of the dressing room. Frank looked completely overwhelmed. Tuchel looked like he was not interested in a corporate environment. Poch ticks many boxes.
I agree he may not put us in the driving seat to take out Pep, Klopp, Arteta teams, but a manger that could may not have the ability to handle a building project that we have ahead of us now. Poch is the exact person we need for this moment. He will help stabilise us. Then once the right manger comes along and should Poch digress we move forward.

If we could produce better consistency in performances next season under Poch by this time next year, ill back him. Change in system, time playing together, relationship building... things we ignored i guess cos we were all clouded by what we were used to

Kudos to Poch to get it right after 34 Game Days. But this is not rocket science having our 4 most creative play upfront with Palmer as No 10 and with 2 Wingers on either side and Jackson upfront was elementary. This coupled with Cucurella inverting to make structure better of the ball as well is adding to the whole balance of team.
Poch I think may have stumbled upon this but according to me regardless of where we finish we top tier coach with better in game management skills and had actually won things rather than Poch passive and reactionary management.

Loving the attitude an performance of the whole team. The 4th goal was one of the best of the lot, brilliant line breaking pass by Trevor, excellent run and pass to Jackson who did well to put it in.
Results and performances like this are what would give Pochetino a life line for next season and the management a head scratcher in terms of positions they need to strengthen. I'm backing Jackson to get 15 PL goals at the end of the season.
