MASSIVE well done Jesse. You should be proper proud of yourself for putting in the graft to get yourself clear of that debt. It's anything but easy, but your diligence and focus on achieving your target is both admirable and something that can be applied to any challenge. It's also invaluable in providing others with the proof that with hard work and commitment you can achieve whatever you set your mind to. Keep smashing it dude!
I honestly really feel these unfiltered thought videos. I know it’s not easy to be vocal with a lot of these topics. But it’s also something we all go through as creatives.
Thanks Jesse. Cheers
I know this is 5 months ago, but there’s something so inspiring about seeing where others have succeeded telling their story from our point of view all the difficulties and sacrifices made to overcome an endeavor.
Rewatching this always gives me hope that when I finish school I’ll have a fighting chance to eliminate my student loans with art, and also to find myself in my art and get rid of self doubt and loathing. To accept my art and path regardless of what everyone else does.
Congrats Jesse!! It's so awesome to see your hard work is paying off, this definitely is SO inspiring!
Made it to the end of the video. Congratulations to you on paying off you student loan! You are very inspiring to a lot people, not just with design, but with how you tackle the obstacles that are in your way of reaching your goals. Much love to you.
This is inspiring! Thanks for sharing, Jesse!

Hey Jesse, just wanna let you know that you're my inspiration in Graphic Design. You've pushed me to do better with designing graphic designs. I'm architecture student and I've been always into graphic design and when I discover your channel you inspired me. Now I'm doing my freelancing work and I gotta say you're the best teacher to us aspiring graphic designer. Hope to see some contents about graphic tutorials and best of luck in your channel!

Congratulations on your achievements.
You are inspiring and make beneficial content for your audience.
Thank you!
Thank you for making this video. Right today, I feel like sh*t - trying to make it in a freelance world, but it is difficult when you have never had a client. Thank you for telling your story and showing that it is possible.
Just finished my first semester in college. This video was super inspiring and motivating and makes me feel a lot better about my decision, thank you.
Thank for the motivation mentor
Thank you for making this, when I declared my major in college back in 2017, I had chosen to go with business management because it was a “safe route” but the entire time I always envied people that were majoring in graphic design, art, or anything creative.
Now in 2024, after finding your videos, I’m finally teaching myself the things that I’ve wanted to learn for so long but didn’t think that I was capable of doing. So thank you for sharing your story. It was really helpful and has started me on a very fulfilling path. Very grateful for you 🙏🏼
Thank you Jesse
Congrats man, that’s a huge accomplishment. I’ll be in this position pretty soon, so the timing of this video was perfect. I appreciate you always working to prove that it IS possible to make a comfortable living as a designer
Proud of you bro. Keep doing your thing and keep pushin. I love your drive and ambition 💪
Honestly watching this video is giving me so much hope. I don’t have student loans but that line about having people change your mind sat with me
Happy for you🎉✊🏽🤗
Great work 💯💯💯
I'm in my second semester for my bachelor of multimedia arts and I'm thankful that you're giving me hope that somehow, I'll make it in this industry. Thank you dude and congrats on paying off the loan!
I needed this right now, just sent off my university (college) application and I'm going through all the same struggles and doubta right now
You made the right call being that aggressive on paying off the loan. Interest will kill you in the long run
Hey Jesse congrats. I have also got about 25k CAD in student loans and it feels quiet daunting at times. Just wanted to say thank you. I usually listen to your podcasts and audio as I drive to and from university lol. Hopefully will have my diploma by the end of this year and not sure if I will go work at an agency or continue on to my bachelors. Anyways, just glad I found your channel and wanted to say thanks. Your content has definitely inspired me to become a better designer. Thanks for being vocal and honest on these topics. Once again, Congrats!!🥳
congrats!!
Mr nyberg is the goat of design. Great content bro plz keep creating for us 🤟🏾🤟🏾😎😎.
This video is so inspiring.... Keep it up.

Thanks Kat!
mane i just started watching you and this is so sick and inspiring. im still $9,000 in debt to my parents for my schooling and i am looking to pay it all off this year! good looks brotha
hearing about the insane costs for US and UK education always makes me grateful for the cheap universities in Belgium. Shows proper character you managed to do this so quickly, Jesse! That's huge, thanks for sharing ✨
Huge achievement, smashed it lad!
Lord, I've seen what you've done for others 🙌😅! Congratulations, and thank you for sharing your journey!!
Inspring. 💯
3:47 thats so funny i had the same thing happen in college, went for graphic design, had a moment i let others doubts get to me and i switched my major to psych 😂 didnt take any classes and switched back
I'm soon starting on a similar journey to pay off my $23k from design school in a similar fashion. Thank you so much for the insight Jesse!
Goodluck!
I can definitely relate. I'm also in the process of paying off my student loan after graduating with a BS degree in Graphic Design. It was very unfortunate that they veto student loan forgiveness.
I also decided to keep paying my loans while there was no interest at the time. I'm so glad I found your channel and wish you nothing but success! 🙂
Goodluck with paying off the rest!
❤❤Thank you from the bottom of my heart, my friend, for your useful words. I wish you the best. I also love your designs. I hope you create your own book about designs. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
i remember you telling me about this plan in 2020 and i thought you were insane haha congrats jesse
appreciate it brotha
Well done! I'm a full time artist, left retail to go walk out on faith, and I still have like 4k in loans left. Can you go into what type of jobs to take on to make at least the 3-6k a month, that would help me so much!
Maybe student loans was the friends we made along the way ❤️ congrats man
I really like your videos, you have inspired me to be a freelancer, I am very afraid but you are very right, having a job filled me with a lot of stress and unhappiness, But I'm happy quit my job, I know it's difficult but it's the path I want to take, of a happy designer.
Congrats on paying off your loans!!! I think I'm about the same age as you & followed pretty much the same plan. I had 10k left to pay last year and when I found out forgiveness wasn't happening, I finally pulled the trigger. I'm still living at home so it was hard making the decision between paying off my loans or using what I had saved to move out but it's nice knowing I can move forward debt-free.
It takes a lot of sacrifice, commitment & dedication to work towards financial freedom - especially in our society where being in massive amounts of debt is kind of the norm. Over the years, I've realized that a lot of my friends/peers that were buying brand new cars or going on fancy vacations every season couldn't afford it or were even going into debt over it.
Thank you again for this video & sharing your perspective, this topic is so important - there are so many traps in our society to keep people poor and in debt. My parents made me read Dave Ramsey's book when I graduated college & even though it was annoying at the time, I'm glad I took it seriously because I would be in a totally different place if I kept spending money like I used to 😅
we ❤ u
Huge W Jesse! I wish I could say the same thing, but the UK University tuition is so outrageous, I'll never pay it off. £62K and rising.....
Appreciate it Dan! That’s insane though, I don’t care if you don’t pay off your loans as long as you keep making dope shit🫡
Very interesting video. How do you find your high paying clients these days?
Respect Man 🔥In India, we also have to face those problems like stability and lack of jobs or respect in society. Even some people don't acknowledge it as a proper job. But yes..this perception is now changing, after all, if you need something to create that is meaningful and aesthetically important, you gotta go for a graphic or any creative professional. 🤣 So they can't replace or underestimate us. We have to work globally together for the future. ♥
Hopefully you see this and possibly can give me a tip. I’m 31 with little experience in debt from college. I don’t have the programs and forgot how to use em. Would you have any suggestions? I’m in a terrible part of my life and want to change so bad but don’t know what to do.
@everyone hi guys do you have some tips where to learn graphic design and build my portfolio? Thanks
Hey Jesse I noticed something wrong in this video , The plugin you used in editing this video is not activated that's why a red cross is coming in transitions.
Hi Jesse, I legit just lost my job today and am a graphic designer. Would you say it's possible to make a living off of making youtube videos only? Or can that type of job at least cover a lot of bills? I've been thinking about doing this awhile, but am not sure if it's worth it, or if I should focus my time somewhere else. I am a van lifer, so I have no rent to pay, but I need to be able to afford food, gas, internet, heat (propane powered heat) and car insurance at the bare minimum.
come on, start
Get Up and Start again. 🔥
Maaan I wish I had your insight when I was your age.
first, w takes
👏
So proud of you Jesse. Being a design student in my second year I'm already trying to those similar steps you did to have your debt paid off asap. I respect it truly, and being able to look at other creators who have done the same things I want to is more valuable than you know. Much love from the east coast 🤍
