Can I add a powered sub like the jl audio ones that come with the amp built in with this system?
You can add the powered sub using a line out converter, but not directly to our amp

How is it once you turn off the car ? Does the amp stay hot and does it drain the battery ?
The amp turns off with the car and will not stay hot and drain the battery
