2017 Clemson vs South Carolina Football: Never Say Never Again

- In a shocking turn of events, the defending champion Clemson Tigers annihilated Lil Jake Bentley and his merry band of Never Againers. The Cocks entered the game riding a wave of confidence that can only come from beating not one but two P5 opponents with a winning record while navigating the worst division in college football. The Tigers marched through the off campus industrial park warzone the Cocks call Williams Brice Stadium and allowed South Carolina fans a rare glimpse at greatness, the likes of which had not been seen in Columbia since The Citadel last visited. The unwashed garnet hordes in attendance were so inspired that they frequently feted their conquerors with various bottles and cans, though they could have simply been attempting to demonstrate proper forward pass etiquette for their hapless QB.
In any event, the Tigers coasted to a 34-0 lead before the Cocks declared "never again" and showcased the type of fortitude that allows a program to hold its rival to a mere 90-17 differential in successive games. This game concluded the glorious Kurt Roper Era of Gamecock football, though any attempt to engage in lazy, surface level analysis related to Will Muschamp's idiotic decision to rehire an OC that already failed him at an infinitely better program in Florida would surely be misguided (some of you just don't get it).
The annual demolition of the Cocks represents the fifth different time in recent decades that the Tigers have won four straight over their rivals, as the Tigers extended their commanding 69-42-4 lead in the series. Led by Kelly Bryant, Hunter Renfrow, Clelin Ferrell, Christian Wilkins, and Ryan Carter, the Tigers did their best to retain the natural order of the universe while the Gamecocks were left to feverishly plan their next Hootie concert against the backdrop of a season entirely reliant upon false hope, lack of standards, and moral victories. When it comes to Gamecock football, never say never again.

..every game in the Clem/SC series was played in Columbia, in SC's home stadium until about 1960. SC's an older U, far larger student body, located in the state center, with plenty of satellite campuses. basically every built in advantage one could imagine, and yet Clemson leads the overall football series by 30+ games. Just imagine, if Clemson had those same advantages over the years, Clemson might lead the series by 60 games....

Contrary to my name and profile picture, I'm a South Carolina fan. I just wanted to say to Clemson fans that y'all may be laughing now, but y'all will be crying later. Also don't know why y'all appear to expect SC to be on the same tier as y'all, at least it seems like that by the look of these comments. I mean, SC got screwed over by Spurrier, and they have a second year coach, not to mention a team that is extremely young. Give em a few years, and they might (notice I said might) be up there with y'all, or y'all may go down. I compare Muschamp's progression to Kirby Smart's of Georgia. It's at a somewhat similar rate, but Kirby started out with a hell of a lot more. I'm not making claims about a natty appearance next year or the next few years, but this all means South Carolina will most likely be a good team in the next few years. If I was y'all, I wouldn't nessecarily get used to the current domination, it may end sooner that y'all think (again, not trying to piss anyone off).
