Watching this 3 years later, and my heart's pounding, hands are shaking, and I'm yelling let's go as we march down the field.
Then Watson to Renfroe for the score brings back that feeling of pure, blissful joy. This is the single greatest moment I will ever experience as a sports fan.
Even though in 2 weeks from right now, Clemson will be playing OSU in the CFP semi for a chance to play in their 4th national championship game in 5 years and a chance to win 3 national championships in 4 years, none of that is close to matching this one.
The 1st is so special because as a life long Clemson fan, I never really believed we would win it all. That 1980 Clemson team won the natty 2 weeks to day after I was born, and I was in front of the TV in my mom's arms, so I kinda got to watch it. 😉I truly believed that was the closest I would ever come to seeing us win a natty.
That is why this drive means so much to me, and all that's happened since is icing on the cake.

@@brennenhowell6500 No, the receiver has the right to run his route. The defender grabbed him and drug him down. But even if they threw a flag on that play, Clemson kicks a field goal and wins in O.T. because they had the momentum.

That’s what happened on Clemson’s game-winning play. As Scott, positioned furthest outside, began to break his route inside, he got tangled up with Alabama defensive back Marlon Humphrey. The key element here is that it’s unclear that Scott initiated that contact, as Humphrey put his arms around the receiver and appeared to pull him to the turf.
With Scott and Humphrey moving in the direction of Renfrow, who was breaking his route to the outside, Alabama defensive back Tony Brown was forced to go around that pair, leaving him hopelessly unable to catch up to a wide-open Renfrow. But Scott never made contact with Brown, and as Jay Harbaugh, a Michigan assistant coach and the son of Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh, noted on Twitter, Humphrey’s physical effort rendered the play a no-call for the refs.
For me, this was one of the best moment of my life.

The best feeling ever. Me and my bro in the living room while everyone else in the house is asleep.. Refrow scores and BOOM everyone's awake. Me and him went CRAZY! Hugging and jumping and screaming. I remember calling my mama and I was in tears on the phone with her saying "We did it!! We won!!"

I was there. Right in the endzone we scored. I'll never forget for the rest of my life. Been a Clemson fan my whole life traveling from Columbia for all of the home games. It was a huge part of my life growing up. Never thought I'd ever see Clemson win a National Championship after living through all those 6-6 seasons. I'm forever grateful to my father for providing this experience for me. Surely something I'll treasure forever. For whatever reason, I haven't rewatched it often. But it's always so surreal when I do.

The best part of this win was the statement they did on the end by closing it out on an unexpected onside kick (which was put on us the season before). It was icing on the cake!

Single greatest moment of my life. I didn’t get to watch the game live because I had a high school soccer game that night so it was 1am and all our friends already knew the outcome but my dad and I were on the edge of our seats all night until 13 caught the ball and I was overwhelmed with happiness. My dad, a lifelong Clemson fan dropped to his knees and was in our living room crying. So so happy. The 2nd one was great too but it will never too this moment

I just wish Bama would have leaned on Josh Jacobs more after Bo Scarborough went down with a broken leg. Josh got one carry for 9 yards. Damein Harris couldn't really get anything going. I partly blame OC Steve Sarkisian for the play calling coming in cold to replace Lane Kiffin after he was fired. I also blame Kiffin for not being dedicated enough to focus on the job for Alabama. I'm positive Alabama would have won if he served as the OC.
Needless to say, that was the most exciting national championship game series we've ever seen - 2015, 2016 and 2017.
