Ron Hextall began it, but Chuck Fletcher finished the job. those two destroyed the Flyers, the culture, everything.
@@TheBeegle77 i know former players who played here during the Giroux era, it was a vacation basically. There was no pressure to win, no accountability, etc. if him and Voracek are the “leaders” and your “best players”, you have zero chance to win anything

I still remember watching the behind the scenes on Flyers training camp when they hired AV. The “be a fucking flyer” speech. It’s hilarious knowing now what Voracek thought of that speech hahahaha. “WTF do you know about being a Flyer?”

Voracek was the best flyer when he played here.
AV is that type of coach who has a successful year but chokes in the finals ,dude just can't finish and he's a weird dude ,rubs the players the wrong way ,
I love Jake… but he doesn’t have a good attitude. This video highlights a lot of the things that were wrong with the locker room/core’s DNA for that era. You preach a lead by example vs cheerleading in the locker room… but the on ice TEAM success wasn’t there to hang your hat on.
@@TheBeegle77I love how everyone blames the players when the organization never gave them support. Giroux needs a Left Winger? Here’s Raffel! The flyers need a top pairing defenseman? Let’s trade and over pay Andrew McDonald. Goaltending was the issue during 2010? Let’s sign Briz for 10 years after the ducks barely made it to the finals to get Giggy back.
But yes, let’s blame the guys in the locker room selling pipe dreams knowing Mangement won’t do anything 😂😂
@@nickbot8313you have the second most influential player in that locker room making fun of players who would support the coach’s message in the locker room. Come on. That locker room was fucked.
@@nickbot8313 They were both major issues but you're right that the roster construction was flawed. Specifically the blue line was god awful. Look at some of the rosters of the playoff teams they had and its incredible they even made it to the playoffs.
But watch it with the Raffl slander, guy was a beast and cheap.
