    When I was growing up, there were far few slums and Kenya was war poorer, now Kenya has improved but the poverty level has risen. This is one thing the government should recognize that social problems may not really be economic problems. We really have to invest in affordable housing.

    • @nightnyungwe5945
      @nightnyungwe5945 Před 3 lety +6

      Actually this is incorrect. According to the World Bank, Kenya's poverty rate has fallen and by 2020, well over 60% of the population lives ABOVE the poverty line.
      Are there slums? Yes there are. Could the numbers of people living in the slums have increased? Of course because the population of the country has risen to over 50 million but what matters is the poverty rate as a percentage of the general population.

    Unfortunately the CEO painted too much of a rosy picture. 0 mention on the levels of corruption & political issues. And it’s pretty much just real estate. Either way, great content 👍

    It is good to invest in Kenya in any way you call it technology industrial you call any investment is welcome Kenya is running and growing but one thing I fear investors not to invest much in Kenya is the government and the rubbish corrupt police I fear Kenyan police they are horrible brutal worse than USA police they can beat you without even doing anything, I would like to invest in this country but until the government gives police discipline of no bribe.

    It's fascinating to see what foreigners think are the measures of success in a country. The microeconomics in kenya are absolutely horrible. The railway is choking Mombasa's economy. The construction on Mombasa road is not feasible and is not required at all. Fraud is rampant. I'd actually say that the debt didn't go to improvement, just to some few pockets. The ease of doing business is only for foreigners. Kenyans are having a hard time opening companies

    The content here is great, good analysis on what is happening on the ground!
    With the current and future infrastructure projects, It is fair to say we are witnessing the rebirth of a nation in terms of economic, social and political development happening in Kenya!
    In terms of Debt to GDP ratio: Kenya stands at 55%, this might appear high, however, the devil is in the details - the debt levels of some the developed economies stand at - Japan 234%, Italy 133%, Singapore 109%, USA 106% France 99% etc.
    We are a developing nation with a young population, abundant access to untapped renewable energy, educated population, multiparty democracy, a diverse growing economy, a somewhat functioning civil service, the best mobile money payment system, possibly in the world, a diverse untapped tourism sector etc - so the fundamentals are looking good for the future unless some low vibration politician fucks up!
    The images of Kenya, Africa are mostly one dimensional, Pity, Poverty send in the saviour.....
    Thanks for showcasing the vast opportunities available in Kenya!
    Asante sana!
