Jesus Christ, probably the most useful CZcams series you can ask for. Please keep posting these, very informative especially for us Africa diaspora who want to invest back in Africa.
I don't know Africa yet but I fall in love with Ghana and Kenya....but I choose Kenya for my first love I bought an apartment in Sukuri Heights from certified home over their in Kenya I use a international realtor here to connect me with that trusted company they also selling land in Nanyuki which I also get a plot ....I will visit next year with God help.......go Kenya🇰🇪🇯🇲
Karibu Kenya,💪🏾🇰🇪🇰🇪
Oh nice Nanyuki is a good place
Thanks for investing in Kenya.
Africa rain doesn't know Africa? You bought property yet you don't know Africa? How do you know that you weren't conned? Am Kenyan I can tell you are just advertising the company selling land and properties, you are Kenyan , we are smart people here

Mr Odundo has everything at the top of his head. That's what I call loving your job learning it in and out. He can answer any question in the middle of his sleep. Keep up the good work sir.
He did his homework. He need to come back after couple years later.... and asses or follow up with the on the same pointers. africa has always been a hidden gem, i`m glad the world is starting to pay attention. very informative
Are you dumb or slow, the world has being on top of African for over 500 years!
We don't need him or any other white people, when African have the most phones or camera, learn to use them yourself!
Very informative, 33.08 minutes and you have given us the whole Kenyan economy perspective.
One of the best interviews by far I’ve seen this year!! We indeed have a positive story to tell about Kenya 🇰🇪❤️
Fantastic interview. I’m glad I’ve subscribed to your channel! Many thanks

The bet on cement companies,, is definitely accurate
Haha no it's not. All cement companies have been making losses on losses.
@@peterkamau595 look at the production/consumption not bottom line.
Why? Isn't profitability and operational efficiency the most basic metric of knowing a good investment and a Terrible one?
@@peterkamau595 it's an indicator of the wider economy. Not just a single sector. Macroeconomics
Did you even watch the video or are you arguing just to argue? He said the best bet is not on real estate but on cement stocks like bamburi. Except that all cement companies in kenya are not profitable and are in really bad state

Great content from an amazing angle. It brings better understanding for our country.
Love your channel! Very interesting especially for us Kenyans in diaspora😊 subscribed!
Invest home don’t listen to those people who always show negativity of Kenya, yes we have challenges but we are heading in a good direction.
Very informative interview, privatisation of state corporations is the way to go, I liked the example given by Mr. Odundo on how Safaricom was a small department in the former Kenya Post & Telecommunications Corp and is now one of the biggest Telcos in East and Central Africa. We need more CEOs like him to drive the country forward. Subscribed
When I was growing up, there were far few slums and Kenya was war poorer, now Kenya has improved but the poverty level has risen. This is one thing the government should recognize that social problems may not really be economic problems. We really have to invest in affordable housing.
Actually this is incorrect. According to the World Bank, Kenya's poverty rate has fallen and by 2020, well over 60% of the population lives ABOVE the poverty line.
Are there slums? Yes there are. Could the numbers of people living in the slums have increased? Of course because the population of the country has risen to over 50 million but what matters is the poverty rate as a percentage of the general population.
@S M Those are cartels not kibra residents. Kibra is owned by cartels, the people in kibra are in fact tenants who pay tent to these cartels.
@S M remaids me of one of our sayings, you can talk a cow to the river but you can't force it to drink water...you can also take a dack from mad, wash and dry it but it will go back to the mad the moment you release it.
Thoroughly enjoyed this interview.
Great insights. Representing Kenya well. Kenya the place to be.
Fantastic and insightful watch. Thank you both. Cheers

Thank you so much Sir. This information is crucial or helpful for stock market researchers and investors. I am a masters students and my research is about stock markets. Keep up the good work Sir.
Few Kenyans know about the stock market making it difficult for them to try and invest in it. If a major IPO came out it would not make a big difference cause it needs people to actually put money in it. But I could be wrong. Very good video. Keep up the good work.
this very very much appreciated, i am actually invested in the NYSE and the OTS and i was asking myself why not in my own country......thanks man you gave me this great info.

As Western countries are moving more towards socialism, wellfarism and protectionism I hope Africa can go towards free markets and free trade and show the world how capitalism can advance human race
Africans hate capitalism. Its just forced on us by the big powers of usa, france, britain. We are socialists by nature and I am sure we will move to this direction in the future
@@janeulo4388 Who are these "Africans" you talk about? I'm an African and I love free markets and capitalism, and I know I'm not alone.
Good luck. Globalists coming soon to make all economies socialism. Africans have capitalism in their blood. Anyone that says otherwise is a lier
@@susanapollo284 Capitalism is a white man's concept and creation. Even if you look at african countries at independence, most of them advocated for socialism. Look at the likes to jaramogi and Tom mboya, nyerere, etc. It was only after immense pressure from the west that they abandoned their stance. In africa today, there are a few monopolies in comparison to the west.
@@susanapollo284 I Love cash pesa
I'm really optimistic abt where Kenya is headed. High literacy levels and still rising rapidly. Enlightened people are obsessed with rising out out of poverty. Capitalism is the antidote to poverty and I'm glad we've embraced it so much.
Well I'd say 60% capitalism and 40% communism to balance.
Hey, good stuff. Looking forward to chatting with you soon about the visit and the stock. -Tim Staermose, African Lions Fund.

@Victor Joseph So which language uses Kenia instead of Kenya? Coz Uingereza is Swahili.
Pro- tip, the Nairobi Securities Exchange and the Stock Market is targeted to foreigners that's why when speaking to local investors it feels like a bottom .

I am Kenyan and tbh, the government is the one hindering the growth of the Kenyan stock market, there are many profitable companies in Kenya, and very promising technologies that are yet to get the eye of investors in Kenya. Also, it gets hard for investors, and founders to exit
I'm really curious. kindly explain how the government hinders the growth of Kenya's economy.
How is the government hindering investment?
@@mickyjagah Through over taxation like we've seen with Sport Pesa and Keroche. The government is basically killing the local capacity and favouring foreign entrepreneurs. More like selling kenya to foreigners
@@nairobinyeusi5811 Kenyan taxation isn't even that high compared to most countries in the world, what's hindering growth especially manufacturing is the high cost of power, also foreigners pay way more taxes than locals ,for example corporate tax is 30% for Kenyan companies and 35% for foreign companies
@@antony6799 what do you assume is responsible for the high power cost?.. the countries that i assume you are comparing their taxation with ours are high income countries...overtaxation is restrictng the kenyan economy from growing since the taxes end up financing debt
What can be done to save the free falling Kenya Airways?
Second time watching your video and I tell you this is just the best and extremely informative vlog. You are so informed of the happenings and again very positive, your attitude is just the best and westerners should borrow your ideas and invest in developing countries.
Second time I am going to tell ya this.... learn to think for your YOURSELF, this men ain't here to help u or any black people. They will NEVER DO IT. They had 456 years to do it so no!
What the CEO and the president fail to mention is that the difference between our debt and that of US and Japan is THEY BORROWED IN THEIR LOCAL CURRENCIES. We borrowed in dollars.
very true . the CEO has just said that the debt to GDP ratio for the westerners is quite very high eg USA which are at over 100% but with them they borrowed in their own currencies whereas we are @ 68% but using dollars
@@estherdrixlar3528 thankyou for this contact. I expected it to be yours but the one on the receiving end was equally lovely. Can I kindly have your email address if you don't mind?
Ok! I thought the government was prioritizing it's vote base by investing alot in them now I know that the loans and all the infrastructure is for the good of the country
Not really. Look well. The loans aren't quite proportional to the investment
Very good discussion! If I'm not mistaken, this Geoffrey Odundo has a brother called James who was a friend of mine when we were both young boys. The family owns a popular pub in Nairobi West, if I'm thinking of the right person.
Yes exactly they inherited the pub from there father
@@billysquad488 Thanks for confirming! I knew he looked familiar. Mini Pub is the name of the joint. I dropped by the place a couple of times when I last visited Kenya and had some beers with James. I now even remember meeting Geoffrey once at that same pub. Nice family.
This was very interesting. Great work 👍 I would love to see something about the ease of banking and running companies
I can tell you upfront: not easy 🙂 still very bureaucratic.
@@TheWanderingInvestor A strong telecommunications sector means that a majority of Kenyans operate outside the banking system at a retail level. Even those with bank accounts prefer to use mobile money.
Most Kenyans use mobile money.
Unfortunately the CEO painted too much of a rosy picture. 0 mention on the levels of corruption & political issues. And it’s pretty much just real estate. Either way, great content 👍
It is good to invest in Kenya in any way you call it technology industrial you call any investment is welcome Kenya is running and growing but one thing I fear investors not to invest much in Kenya is the government and the rubbish corrupt police I fear Kenyan police they are horrible brutal worse than USA police they can beat you without even doing anything, I would like to invest in this country but until the government gives police discipline of no bribe.
It's fascinating to see what foreigners think are the measures of success in a country. The microeconomics in kenya are absolutely horrible. The railway is choking Mombasa's economy. The construction on Mombasa road is not feasible and is not required at all. Fraud is rampant. I'd actually say that the debt didn't go to improvement, just to some few pockets. The ease of doing business is only for foreigners. Kenyans are having a hard time opening companies
you're ignorant
@@antony6799 kenya is not for kenyans.
A Kenyan forex trader 3 years now, I don't even care to know what the stock market is doing, it's useless, you can close it all up and the effect on the global economy will be unnoticeable

How do I access a certified broker to make any investment for a non Kenyan citizen?
The NSE website lists approved brokers.
Try genghis capital
Please check the nse.co.ke website, check the approved brokers. Do your due diligence.
The content here is great, good analysis on what is happening on the ground!
With the current and future infrastructure projects, It is fair to say we are witnessing the rebirth of a nation in terms of economic, social and political development happening in Kenya!
In terms of Debt to GDP ratio: Kenya stands at 55%, this might appear high, however, the devil is in the details - the debt levels of some the developed economies stand at - Japan 234%, Italy 133%, Singapore 109%, USA 106% France 99% etc.
We are a developing nation with a young population, abundant access to untapped renewable energy, educated population, multiparty democracy, a diverse growing economy, a somewhat functioning civil service, the best mobile money payment system, possibly in the world, a diverse untapped tourism sector etc - so the fundamentals are looking good for the future unless some low vibration politician fucks up!
The images of Kenya, Africa are mostly one dimensional, Pity, Poverty send in the saviour.....
Thanks for showcasing the vast opportunities available in Kenya!
Asante sana!
Which NSE listed firms are ideal for a long term investor?
@Charles Kaunda there are relatively good companies thats yoy can buy and hold for long term such as Safaricom, Kcb bank, equity and coop banks.
@@investingwithlawrence. Do you think those companies are currently overvalued. They're trading at record highs
