      @@sens_120ms fps isnt hz....you need to distinguish. Just to add to this...because at some point it becomes important to distinguish between the fps of your game and the refresh rate of your monitor.
      And to his test...you clearly see difference but tests with pros suggest: a.) You not get a pro with your monitor and b.) muscle memories for compensating input delay of that particular point seem to fade at upwards of 120 (better 144hz) to be negligable. Important is fps, other lags of hardware, etc.
      They completely lack the important point, how the response times are on the 60hz monitor. While naturally faster displays respond faster.....but important also is the response time itself...and that not grey-to-grey bullshit but actual, proper response timings.
      So, the test isnt really professional and lacks knowledge...BUT as said: Usually they are faster, but there are 240 or even 300+hz monitors with ceazy bad hardware, bad response times, etc.

      As you was explaining, I know 360hz is worse than 240hz if response time, g2g, ghosting and shit is better on 240hz, Its typically what laptops dont quite get due to the thinner hardware, though I believe 360hz has caught back up to 240hz recently.

    I think it's because of the latency. Mostly 60hrz monitors are so delayed at the input latency i guess. :/ and the modern 365 hrz 260-265 hrz to 144 hrz they are all super fast in terms of latency. :) yea frames does matter but it might be happening because of latency.
    My old monitor latency was 12ms which is 1080p 60hrz and the current monitor is 1440p 165hrz with the 0.5ms latency. So ofcourse i see the same thing, if not more.
    Most 1080p 60hrz monitors are super old so u may want to try some ultra low latency oled/super amoled which is also 60hrz to 90hrz. 😅 I don't know much about it still. This is my opinion on this.

    • @kanalkanali
      @kanalkanali Před 4 měsíci

      i agree for this but i think this man uses 2 the same monitors but its not logical if he downgrades the refresh rate that its latency goes up. he must doing something like setting the monitor on energy saving mode to higher its latency

    • @taxa1569
      @taxa1569 Před 4 měsíci +2

      @@kanalkanali The 2 panels are the same, I think windows is automatically in a constant state of vsync ever since win 7. So think of it like this. The duration between frames at 60 hz is 16.66667ms and 144hz is 6.944445ms. When you move your mouse there is an equal chance to start moving the mouse early in that 16 ms than not. And if you did, the panel isn't drawing anything new until the NEXT cycle. But the 144hz in the second panel has the time to draw 2 complete frames in that time span. But on the OS side of things, windows is also synced to the faster refresh rate, not the slower one. Sooo it is actually registering the physical movement in between refresh rate cycles of the 'slower' monitor. Making it look like not only is the image smoother, but quicker latency too.
      Although if you've used a phone with variable or multiple refresh rates you might actually notice that different modes also effect colour reproduction and subsequently latency too. So EVEN with the exact same display. Latency could be drastically different depending on the refresh rate set. Being optimised for one doesn't mean the other doesn't intrinsically leave the panel with the same latency. And the latency is never perfectly (1000ms/hz), that's just the absolute minimum.
      With all that. TL:DR yes, changing JUST the refresh rate changes latency on the exact same display/s.

    • @nagyFerko
      @nagyFerko Před 4 měsíci

      Lower refresh rate itself means higher delay, a 60hz monitor will show you a new picture in every 16,6666ms, while a 144hz one will do it every 6.94444ms, but it’s the same delay as you saw in monitor specs, that one is the time which the monitor need to show a picture it already got from the graphics card. You could have 2 60hz monitor with different delays, I had a setup with an old 1080p 60hz tv and a fairly basic 60hz monitor, you could easy tell just by looking at it that the tv had like a half second delay compared to the m because the electronics in the display have to process the data from the gpu, can’t simply just show it as it is
