Watching this makes me sad... This is a positive spirited, pre-Twitter feuding Azealia. She was on such a good track, 1991 EP was a great introduction to her and gave great promise of what was to come. Too bad the her attitude and the negativity kind of stalled that excitement and overall interest in her. I'm still looking forward to the album, but it should've been out a long time ago.
She was physically and mentally abused by her managers for years, her 'attitude' is definitely not the problem.
I get happy seeing old and new Azealia. She's grown so much and I love how she puts everything out fearlessly, many people get the wrong idea of her but she's just perfect imo. Nothing can change her except the growth in herself and I can't say that for many people. It's so inspiring seeing someone standing up for themselves even at a time when it felt like the whole world wanted to bring her down, probably out of their own fear, idk.
@fred d she's doing what she wants whenever she wants and that is fearless. Azealia is honest and tells it how it is. These big name artists lie and put on this big smile when really they're awful behind closed doors.
Idk about you but 30 year old Azealia kicks ass!
itâs stalled her bad. her opinionated personality would be perfect for radio, but sheâs not a radio host, sheâs an artist and thatâs why people get upset when she shares her opinions on things. itâs even worse now in 2023. sheâs lost herself bad.
She is a product of her intelligence...this interview shows just how articulate and intelligent she is (for ANY girl her age), and her incredible wordplay in her music can only come from the mind of someone intelligent (go read the lyrics to Liquorice...they're almost Shakespearian at times)
Good rap requires incredible intelligence
She's soooo cute ! I love her so much , her music is original and fresh .
i didn't know very much about this girl, and now this interview made me actually LOVE her! she feels and sounds so real and so happy, and this proves that she's a REAL deal, she knows about art/performance/theatre i mean she's gonna be HUGE in 2013!
something about her... she was different, something changed her.
I think it was her label. Interscope tried to change her sound so they shelved it year after year. Her rants had a play in the shelving too I believe
She refused to go mainstream. That's why. And I wish she never created IG or Twitter!
She got bitter by not receiving the recognition she deserved. Rightfully so considering how much the industry has abused her.
She sounds so innocent when she talks! Like the stuff she says in 212- WOW. She doesn't even seem like the type of person who would curse! lmao
Absolutely in love with that woman :)
we love her hear in the uk im glad she lives here `;)
Omgosh I remember hearing her. and was like ''What the hell.." like she was so good.. I was kinda mad that I'm just now hearing her... I think they need to advertise her more I'd buy every song.
She actually seems like a really nice person!
This comment aged so poorly lmao

You can tell she definitely has a love for art. I can't wait to see what she's going to do next, there's just so much potential.
Well
You should listen to the interview. The word wasn't used to replace concepts. It was used mostly as a sound in between words. Basically its a part of her English dialect. Furthermore, the way she juggles perspectives in her musical lyrics is a witness to how articulate she is.
i really dig her style and i can't wait for her album to come out, she really is unique !
she's so freakin adorable
5:02 she released this on spotify a few months ago i didn't know it was an old demo
THANK YOU!
I love how she talks

she is AWESOME!
QUEEN
i love her
Finally some new music worth playing!
thats so true!
She doesn't need to use big words to convey her life story about how she got to where she is! She's a competent and intelligent woman!
love her
she's just brilliant. nuff said
I like her. Plus she's a natural beauty.
I WENT TO TADA theater THE OTHER DAY !!!!!!!!!!! :O WOOOOW im from NY too girl :D
love her, such a gurl
Im going to LaGuardia this September
yh because everyone should talk like you.
you know, like, you know. Like... You know?
Like
yeah she does
@MusicViaTim it's also a harlem thing to represent where you're from. I'm sure she had pressure from her parents to be sure that this is what she wants to do in life and to be successful. I know most Carribbean parents they want you to go off to college/university or get a really good job after high school so she has to prove to them that she's going to be excellent. It's just a competitive attitude. She's not trying to be a snob or anything that's how a lot of young women talk. :)
Azealia for sound of 2013
She's cute. Yung Rapunxel has to be her stage persona, seeing how sweet and genuine she is in this interview. She could be Kelis' younger sister
word!!!!!
That "Seventeen" song she talks about has a sample from "21" by Ladytron. So cool. Gottaï»ż love this woman.
omg i was totally thinking that, for some reason she reminds me of her
omg shes so cute
I agree. I think she has that special something. It's not a gimmick.
I Like Her :)
Wow!!! She sounds like a 12 year old. I would of never guessed she was from Harlem, NY cuz her proper talk. No "yo", "son" or any other street slang, like how I talk sometimes. She seems very intelligent & well educated. I like her different style of rapping eccentric & funny at da same time.
love the is girl
i love you
I usually hate rap, but I love the 1991 EP. Azealia seems very intelligent.
id burst her bubbly personality
i can't fuckin believe she did a cover of interpol. i think i'm in love.
how cute
I love nicki and azealia their both amazing DONT COMPARE THEM IN A BAD WAY!
the song is called seventeen by ladytron, think thats why she kept it called seventeen.
i'm spanish, i dont understand a shit of english, but i fuckin love this girl's music, i also was born in 1991!!!"!
0:00 such a qt
I th!nK 212 is a BADASS tune I don't know wy the heck some people are complaining about that song its awesome!!ts my frariout song of here's.
@conquistador66 because she is universally acknowledged for her intelligent wordplay. At least music critics think so. Ever heard of rap genius? Try it, it's free.
LIKELIKELIKE she wants us to LikeLIke her
Love how real she is, hope she never goes mainstream *cough* Nicki Minaj *cough*
(standing ovation) seriously though, it's insulting.
I know I thought she was British 2! she does sound British in 212!!
Coco movie out in 2016!
UPDATE: The movie is out and it's called, 'Love, Beats, Rhymes'! Azealia's first movie
@@whizzardblizzard5696 and the last one LUL
360p? Really BBC? lol reupload in 1080p thanks đ€
I have heard plenty of of celebrities use the word umm and err fillers. Fillers are common when the conversation is not scripted. It does not mean that the person cannot express themselves. Most of the times, it is a way of filling in a pause, to complete the next thought. But the thought is expressed successfully. And her fillers were not that many, besides the comments I really had not noticed, because these words are so common and you hear them a lot.
*here
she is so lovely. she seems so real and sweet. honestly i like her a lot better than nicki minaj. is it me or is she more talented than nicki?
seems like a really nice girl to be fair !!
Urban rap ftw.
English is a term to refer to the language of those who come from England, a country within Great Britain (a region of the British Isles that consists of Wales, Northern and Southern Ireland, Scotland, and England, along with a series of commonwealths and provinces). British English = Many different accents, often influenced by celtic languages that have nothing to do with English at all. English is the appropriate term when referring to English spoken from England (ie the country of origin).
I was in the 212
azealia banks is my ideal girlfriend and none of it has to do with her looks. im not saying she is ugly just that her personality is something that i would have no problem being around. she is so talented and fresh. she will be mine oh yes she will be mine.
wow, she's kinda like, yeah like yeah. Not what I expected from the video at all! I would not expect this girl to say "see you next Tuesday!!"
GĂł od Morning Azeaila How Are U Doing Shawty
I agree people from Harlem are the coolest :
Azealia Banks
A$ap Rocky
Teyana Taylor
I love them & they got great personality YUP !!
I did as you asked and read the lyrics to Liquorice, can't see any evidence of them being "almost Shakespearian". Perhaps you'd like to explain further?
Oh, it's Seventeen. It says twenty-one in the lyrics. I've made a mistake. It was amazing to dance electroclash in 2003/04. Bye! x
People don't choose how they can speak naturally. Some people may force it but they have a natural accent or way of speaking that they're hiding. But being from Harlem doesn't any less likely that she doesn't normally speak like that. I'm a black girl and I speak similarly to her. I don't fake it. The colour of your skin doesn't change the way you speak.
well the lyrics in the 212 song she may come across maybe a little cocky but seems really level heade !
@MusicViaTim Plus the Indie community spits out different hit bands all the time then they move on to the next thing. I don't think they rule the music industry though. The people outside that scene are just as successful. I'm glad she's so versatile and is doing different songs that are not like 212. She's better than Nicki in my opinion. I feel her and Iggy Azalea are going to help bring more variety to the female hiphop scene. ;)
Anyone tried counting the times she said "like". I lost count.....
She's so cute! I love her - she is such a better role model than Nicki Minaj
Well, this comment aged really well
She's cool as fuck
wouldn't mind if she put 212 on her album 16 times
@MusicViaTim I know what you mean but she doesn't come off as super arogant to me. She's just hungry for success and so she not going to act all shy and as if it doesn't matter whether or not she blows up. I mean she finally found her passion, after assuming that she would go into theatre so now she doesn't want to waste time. It's a cultural thing to.. not every young black person gets the same opportunities that she had growing up so she should be happy that she had that chance.
What is the song towards the end?
Her and Frank Ocean would be so cute together!
She don't seem to have that big ego some peeps say she has, she seems sweet.
She sounds different compared to her Hunger TV interview
She's not posh, she's just not affecting some bullshit gansta style drawl to make her sound street for the sake of it, she's cool enough. She's speaking normally, she's clearly intelligent and completely comfortable with herself.
Whats the song from the video
she doesn't sound GHETTO if thats what your getting at but she does sound like she grew up in a black community. she doesn't sound white at all, just a non ghetto black girl. that doesn't mean she doesn't sound black, she still talks like she's of that culture. you must not have grown up in that culture if you are unable to tell. its like when you have a foreigner visisting a town, it usually harder for them to tell a difference the lighter the accent.
how its the song at 2:41 called plz?
Like you are like totally right, and like I didn't even like know what I was like saying, so like my bad, and like, like, like, like, like, it won't like happen, like again, I like, totally, like, promise, like so serious, like woah..... OMG!
