- The Atlanta Hawks had the #1 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. They selected the French 19-year-old, Zaccharie Risacher. In this video, I breakdown the upside to his game, and why the Hawks felt he was the right fit for their franchise, and the upside he has.

The Right choice. Go Hawks
Facts
gonna be a bust imo
His high basketball i.q. plus his physical skills make the right fit for the Hawks.
You know ball
He is the son of a basketball player, so there are genes and there a lifetime of proximity to the game, an absolute willingness to work on himself and the game, so he has all the tools.
Physically he looks underwhelming but the reality is that he still makes the plays above the rim, using incredible timing, positioning and reads.
He has a good chance of making good the #1 selection.
I like the assessment. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I wonder what % of players are the âson of a basketball playerâ.
@@kevinb7329 it's increasing now, quite a few currently
So good to see you back â€â€
At first I didnât like the pick. I honestly wanted Sarr. But after their interviews I instantly knew we got it right. He said he was ready to work and will do anything to play. Meanwhile Sarr said he needed a nap in his post draft interview. Weâll see how those statements translate on the court.
You did an amazing job!
Thank you very much! đ€
Great video. I think the pick is awesome. He fits a lot of needs for the Hawks and has more upside than most folks seem to give him credit for.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Looking forward to seeing him in action.
Good video brother. Iâm excited to see what he can do
So am I! The European guys who have come into the league the last few years are so skilled & fun to watch.
love the vid! this draft class was definitely not as exciting as last years, but still lots of great talent. could you made a video like this on alex sarr?
Sure can!
@@TheFilmRoom1 im waiting for it!
Heâs not a stretch 4. Risacher is a winger. Heâs more likely to play the 2 than the 4 in some lineups. Just because heâs 6â9â doesnât automatically make him a PF.
ATL has him listed as a PF on their roster, so thatâs why I chose to label him as that.
Oh, well thatâs weird. JJ is better suited to playing the 4. Risacher will do most of his damage at the 3 I think. Add in Dyson Daniels who is a 6â7â guard and suddenly we have size and defense.
Agreed!
My Hawks are building up the wing position.....why? Because of the newly world champs the Celtics. Great wing play is a must in today's NBA.
I donât disagree
I don't think he is gonna be a 4. Jalen is the 4. He will be more so a 3. But the hawks have the right players that can switch when needed
I watched another channel on Risacher defense tape. Heâs very impressive. But he needs t build up strength.
A healthy Jalen Johnson and Hunter plus him not bad. They all can play both forward positions.
Thing with Risacher is he could play the 2. He played forward in Euro but heâs so athletic that if you put him at the 2 or 3, itâs nasty.
Risacher will mostly be playing SG & SF for Atlanta, not PF as you mention.
On the Hawks official website, they have him listed as PF. Thatâs why I said that. To me, heâs more of a wing, but thatâs what heâs listed as.
His skill set says heâs a SG but because heâs 6â9â he gets listed as SF or even PF.
We have 6â5â+ guys running point, so I see know problem with a 6â9â SG đ€·ââïž
@@ZeroSilence8 I hear you. The point I'm making is that the Hawks list him as a Power Forward on their roster. So regardless of what he does on the court, or his height, he's listed as a 4-man.
@@TheFilmRoom1 sorry, my comment wasnât intended to be directed at you.. just a general assumption. I definitely understood your point. đ

Yes this is it
Great pick!
Hey film room I have a question. Do you think that you could do a thing where people pay for a film study from you. Like I send a full game and you give me like a review. I am willing to pay, I am incoming freshman in college.

Just bought his bowman gold /50 card, wishing him nothing but the best. Go make me some money kid.
Atlanta really drafted a spot up shooter for their 1st pick
Plays simple and clean, great shooter, great off ball movements, good defense, fairly athletic. Klay basically
As opposed to what? Taking Sarr who has no offensive bag and can't crash the glass? Or perhaps you expected us to take yet another guard on a team loaded at that position? Goddamn y'all just be saying anything. đ€Ą
Klay Thompson 2.0
Let's no forget, Sarr told the hawks he wouldn't play for them, this is the only reason he was taken at 1 and this draft will be remembered as one of the worst. Or if Rob and Reed can be set free, one of the best.
@@JasonWatkins-kp7rr if he wasn't number 1 he was number 2 anyway lol
Nope it was rumors that hawks was gonna take him way before the sarr situation
đ€Łđ€Ł who is he gonna guard...? a role player with the #1 pick is crazy
@@offdachainman9534 would you consider Klay Thompson or Reggie Miller role players?
They just play simple and straight to the point
hawks pickin a role player at no.1 smh
Zacc averages more TO than assists, and he was dominated in euro play, they shut him down and he's the best player on the team
lolol... nope. Zacch is a 19 year old kid that started the season as a backup and earned his way into starting and being one of the most important players in his team.
And in EuroCup he averaged 11 points per game and shot above .400 from 3, whilst helping his team to reach the finals, losing against Paris Baskeball and in the French league playoffs he upped his scoring to 15ppg and help his team reach the semi-finals, where they had a good showing, losing 3-1 to the eventual champs, with 2 of the 3 losses being by only 5 and 4 points, which means that they were competitive.
Zacch also broke his personal game high with 28 points in a semi-final game.
i think sarr would have been a better fit on the hawks seeing as their bigs have proved again and again that they are not on par with the top players in that position.. i would rather they took the chance on a big instead of adding more depth in their wings given they already have options like jalen johnson, sadiq bey, and bogdanovic
Some really good points!
Bey is a UFA, and Sarr does not fit as well with Jalen Johnson (who the Hawks see as their future) as Risacher does.
Risacher is going to be playing the 3 more than the 4, the Hawks want JJ to play the 4. This is why Sarr was not the pick, they wouldâve needed Sarr to bulk up and play the 5, which is not what he wants to do in the NBA. He wants to play the 4.
@@jhen0I call BS!
@@jhen0 And Sarr - though his agent - said he wanted the ball in his hands, to develop his game as a #1 option, so he was not inclined to jump into a team where he would have to grow into a supporting role, before eventually 'taking off' as an offensive option.
Last year, Sarr only shot .298 percent from 3 in the NBL, Risacher shot .407 from 3 in the Euro League. Sarr said he wants to be a PF
