I have a final project due in 48 hours and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for delivering all this information so efficiently and informatively. So many 'basic' AE tutorials on yt that are 30min-1hr in length.
Agreed, this is by far the best one I've seen! Easy to understand, it doesn't go 100mph and it doesn't promise things that you can't do in 10 minutes lol

And you're right, I would never have completed so many projects if not for the college briefs and deadlines. I know it can all be learned from internet, but I feel i'm learning a lot from college than 2-3 years learning on my own. Excellent training, thank you. You got right to the point and filled the time with great instruction. I re-learned quite a few AE points after a long hiatus from using it.
This is the best crash course. I already know a lot of the stuff in the video coming from other programs but still needed a 'tour' of AE to know where everything is and this was perfect in a clear, short, way that I haven't found elsewhere

This was REALLY well made for somebody jumping in as a beginner. I am moving from Motion to AE so this was exactly what I needed. Thank you!
Because of my deadlines, I'd rather use Motion because it's so much faster....but my company wants to ditch all the Macs! (Stupid decision) ... So into After Effects I go, which is like going backwards! This tutorial helps, but sheesh, the rendering time is 3-5 times longer in AE than it is in Motion for the same basic stuff, and in Motion I see most things in real time. Sigh.

I was trying to find which After Effects video tutorial was so good, it changed how I think about every single program after. ("How can I distill all of these intimidating buttons down to the 3-4 core things we really need to do?") I knew I'd found the right one when I saw my own comment again lol
The way you broke down After Effects also helped me overcome my intimation to learn Fusion 360, Shap3D, and even Javascript. Standout job, even years later.

This isn't everything...far from it. Wait till you get to the part where you have to select a section and hit ALT to bring up a set of pointlessly hidden tools to link one part of your composition to another, or perform motion tracking on a really argumentative clip, etc.
The first time I ever used after effects was a few years ago for a Logo animation and I had a really hard time trying to get into it. I then didn't use it again, but due to changes in the tye of projects my workplace gets, I agreed to try and learn it so that I can work on those.
You really helped me with this. Not only do I feel like I have learned some basic ways to use the software, but you also have made it look easy to understand. I'm now much more confident in my ability to learn more and use it. Thank you! :)

We were using an animation software for our animated assets. For some reason the colours were appearing darker when exported. We also had a deadline for these assets. With the deadline looming I decided to watch your tutorial and learn After Effects. I spent 10 mins watching your video and 30 mins putting the animation together and when I exported the colours came out perfectly!

Perfect video man. With quite a bit of experience in Fusion and Resolve, I wanted to get quickly started with After Effects. Your video contains all the infromation I wanted, presented at the right pace, with the right amount of detail. Props.
edit: I especially like that you showed both the keyboard shortcuts, and where to access the same feature in the menu. Too many tutorials skip over this, and it's fundamental to understanding the workflow of the software.
This was my first video on learning After Effects. It was funny, information and as you said at the end, this program can be daunting, but I feel I have a good grounding in what is possible thanks to you. I'm going to watch the next 15 videos. Goes by WAY too fast, and yet, it's perfect. In 10 minutes, I've got the vibe of it and I can always replay or reduce the play speed to get a key element later. At the very least, I've gotten 20-30 minutes of "Simple things you can and will be doing in AE unless you're not using AE" packed into 10 minutes, which lets me assess how I want to go forward in understanding those things better.

I’ve had some experience with editing with things such as final cut and premiere but ae was confusing to me and pretty daunting but this helped me learn the basis of ae in literally 8 minutes and you explained this insanely well and no I should be able to search for other effects such as time remapping and masking
