The vintage kit has developed very well. Good job, David. With the paintwork you will definitely end up with a great model. Wish you a lucky hand and a good time at the workbench. Greetings, Joachim
David, You've done a great job on this vintage kit which dates back to around 1970 or so. I'm impressed how cleanly you separated the canopy, cutting clear plastic that was probably somewhat brittle would have been nerve wracking had I tried it! Now I'm thinking about a movie I saw long ago.. "Flight of the Intruder". That made me wonder what ever happened to the actor Brad Johnson, who played Lt. Jake Grafton in the film, and I see that Johnson died of complications from COVID in early 2022 at the age of 62. Well that's a downer. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing this Warbird when you've finished painting it. Model on!
Thanks Mark, I did crack a little of the brittle canopy but I glued it back and it's "battle damaged" now. I watched that movie twice so far as I was building this. Lots of early stars: William Dafoe, Danny Glover, Ving Rhames, David Schwimmer, Tom Sizemore 😊
Your A-6 is coming along very well. That two piece canopy would have really pissed me off but you did a great job splitting the fwd and aft canopy sections. Your cockpit detail painting looks amazing. Great job, you are well on the way to a beautiful Intruder model.
Nice work, David. I started detailing one of the front landing gear flaps on mine today. So I’m progressing, just not very quickly. And since I’m not using the figures, I’m going to have to do something with the emptiness of the cockpit. Oddly enough, my kit has decals for the interior, so I won’t have to go through the stress of painting the gauge and control details.
I always thought the A-6 was a neat aircraft. Nice work on the build so far David. The instrument panel detail painting looked good, that is a small piece to detail paint and you did it well.
Thanks Mike, haven't seen a video from you lately and wondering if you ever completed the 32 Hot Wheel Ford or did I miss it. Hope you are having fun at your workbench.🙂
I haven't done a thing for a long time David, thanks for asking. My wife's health has been an issue for quite some time and it has taken up a lot of time and energy. Things have settled down a bit as of late and I plan on getting back to the bench.@@davidchin350
Coming along nicely! I have built the the later Hasegawa A-6e 1/72 which is almost identical to this kit with some exceptions. Will you be priming first or straight to paint?
@@davidchin350 not sure but I believe based upon what I see, your kit is from 1970 or 77 and the “e” kit which I built was a re-boxed “a” with some new parts and decals to make it an e from 1987. The airframe minus the TRAM ball looks the same as far as detail goes.

Very good progress on this plane build David! Happy building and looking forward to the finished product 👍
Thanks John👍

Nice work. Cutting the canopy is a nice touch. Also nice job on the ejection handles. 👍👍
Thanks Kurt, cutting the canopy was challenging and it did crack slightly but now its battle damaged.🙂
Good idea to cut away to see David, nice work mate👍
Thanks Paul, I like when the interior is accessible 🙂
Excellent update David! Looking forward to the final reveal.
Thanks, been taking a little longer than predicted but should get paint on it soon.🙂
Very nice David. I’m looking forward to your next update. 😀👍🏻
Thanks Steven, moving along slowly 😊
32 likes! That is such a cool kit! The pilots look very detailed.
Thanks Mark, I just completed this kit.
Great job David, it’s never easy with old kits, but they are great for honing skills. Model on my friend. Cheers Bob 👍
Thanks Bob.👍
Nice update, David. I'm in a builders funk right now and was thinking about building a plane.
Thanks Rob, building something military is definitely more relaxing since cars have to be perfect unless it's weathered. Give it a go.🙂
That's looking sharp David! 👍😎👍
Thanks Jeff👍
Very interesting kit...It looks very nice without the stickers...very clean 😊
Thanks, I have to paint it first then the decals will be applied.🙂
That’s looking really great David!! Pretty cool old kit. Great work on that canopy too
Thanks Kyle, appreciate it.🙂

Great progress david.
Thanks John, I'm trying to get this into the booth soon.
Nice Intruder Hasegawa.👍👍
Thanks Pierre, so far so good.
Nice added detail!
Thanks Ed👍
Looking awesome David!!
Thanks Manny.🙂
Your welcome!! @@davidchin350
Awesome work david 👍🏻
Thanks JR😊
Aleays liked this plane.👍
Thanks Charlie, a great 70's kit.
Great ! 👍
Thanks 🙂
Weighting the nose is a great tip. Finding out the hard way a plane is tail heavy can be very irritating.
Thanks, there were times I forgot about the weighted nose and ended up with a tail dragger.☹️
Coming along nicely! I have built the the later Hasegawa A-6e 1/72 which is almost identical to this kit with some exceptions. Will you be priming first or straight to paint?
Thanks, did the later kits have more detail? Probably have to prime since I have some putty on the top of the fuselage seam.
