  • Long awaited photo recon version of the famous Vought Crusader. First released boxings were RF-8A and RF-8G and ofcourse I bought both of them. The plastic parts are exactly the same and the only difference is the decals. I started with upgraded RF-8 and wanted to build it out of the box to see how it goes together.

Being limited run type of kit you have to take it into account when you build the model: There is no part numbers in the sprue, there are injection ejector marks that has to be removed before parts fit etc. But the instructions are the worst part of the kit, but as there are not a lot of parts you can figure the kit out. But I would have liked the instructions to have mentioned which of all the options (there are all the lumbs and bumbs to make every RF-8) you should use with each decal option. Although there are no locator pins, after you have done all the fiddly small inside parts the rest goes together very nicely. The most of the filler goes to intake, other parts that needed filler were some alignment issues I made myself.
After all I was very happy with the kit and I make the RF-8A version next with knowledge of this and with some twist. Sword can make any packaging with these plastics and I can see myself buying for example Project Bullet and final flight versions if they decide to make such...

@@runesvensson1244 Although box-art looks very nice the wing doesn't rise like that. In reality only the wing rises, not part of the fuselage along with it.
And what is not artists fault, but I don't like when you can't build the kit out of the box like the box-art shows.
After all nice art from Mads Bangsø as I have A-model box art in my desktop background..

@@TV-ez4md Mads sometimes make the 3D model from ground up, other times he buys the 3D model and do the rendering on top of that. I don't know if he made this 3D model :-)
