In today's video, we are discussing athletic scholarships and how they work at the D1, D2, D3, NAIA, & Junior College levels.
There are also other scholarships to consider with academic and merit scholarships.
Per the NCAA, college baseball is an equivalency sport. Well, what the heck does that mean?
I'm going to break down the scholarship format, so it's simple to understand.
That's my job, to simplify this confusing & sometimes overwhelming recruiting process.
With how expensive college is these day's it's important to know how you can save money and where the possibilities are.
    I hope you enjoy.

Great video. How do they calculate the the dollar value of a “scholarship” i.e. in-state tuition, books, etc?

So My Son has been at this for a year now and we've had multiple offers, but I am amazed at how many places say they don't do academic money. I'm not sure if they aren't willing to help with it or if it's just the schools we've spoken to. And this is at all levels. I realize that University/College is a money printing machine, but it seems, more than not, that we are told there is no academic money. And my guy is a 4.0 student. The D3's have been great with it, but even at 20 or 30 grand off, it still leaves you with another 20,000 per year. Quite the process...like I said, some good offers, but I was surprised at the amount of school that say they have cancelled their academic side of things.

Yeah some schools have stacking where they have athletic and academic and others just have athletic. Remember D3 does not have athletic money. Congratulations on all of his offers!

@@RecruitingwithAlex Thanks. This is quite a journey. Haha. He’s actually had a great offer up here in Toronto as well. Definitely weighing them all out. Thanks for replying. I would loved to have seen this video a year and a half ago. Haha. Would have saved us some time :)
      peace

when you say 9 scholarships that can be granted--that mean for each new class that comes in. Obviously it wouldn't make sense to use those 9 scholarships to include sophomores, juniors ,and seniors correct?

9 scholarships to give to the whole team unfortunately. They usually break them up in small percentages. 10%, 15%, 20% etc.

@@RecruitingwithAlex but lets say someone got a 10% scholarship--would room and board be free? At D1 would they be able to eat with the football players? use the athletes gym? Out of curiosity do you have a video why football and basketball get a fully funded scholarships but baseball does not? thank you so much for your videos!
