      You're welcome. That was in December 2021. London Heathrow is always crowded. Just inform any of the airport staff if you have less connection time, they will help you to get through faster. Good luck on your flight.

    If you have a British passport then all you need to do is get it scanned at passport control or do you have to do something else too?

    • @Bachling1
      @Bachling1  Před rokem

      Yes that is correct, British Passport holders have separate lane, where you can just scan your passport at electronic passport gates and you do not need to go through and be asked by an immigration officer.

      @Bachling1  Před rokem +1

      if you have a flight connection with the same airline then you should not check-in again unless advised. If it is the same airline, then, they shall issue 2 boarding passes for you and once you land in 5A then you shall go directly to 5C to catch your connecting flight.
      In case that they advised you to check in again or you have different airlines, you should allow ample time as the airport is really really busy nowadays.

    My flight is from DOHA (Qatar Airways) to London Heathrow Airport (Terminal 5) and then from London Heathrow Airport Terminal 3 (British airways) to Nuremberg, Germany. As my flights are changing I need to claim the baggage too and catch another flight after changing the terminal. In my scenario it will same as of yours (except for baggage claim number)? And after baggage claim what should be my steps to get to terminal 3?

    • @Bachling1
      @Bachling1  Před 2 lety +3

      After claiming your luggage at T5, you need to travel by train from T5 to T3, It will take around 10 minutes by train and 15 minutes by taxi so you need to have more connecting times.
      To make it quicker, you can request Qatar Airways in Doha to issue a boarding pass and check in your luggage all the way to Nuremberg. It is most likely possible if your connecting flight is a "One World" member. But you can request this from the time of check in.

    • @computology
      @computology Před 2 lety +1

      Can you be more specific where exactly at T5 to claim baggage? You are taking elevator @ 2:35, do I need to claim baggage before taking elevator or after that? also you are catching train @ 03:14, will me path will should be the same as yours and catch to the same train to T3? Or do I need to claim baggage after taking elevators then catching train and then from there on.
      I'll ask that during checkin.

    • @Bachling1
      @Bachling1  Před 2 lety

      @@computology In this particular flight, my luggage was claimed at carousel number 7, probably you will have the same number if not then it will be posted on the screen in the luggage claim area where your flight number will be written with corresponding carousel/belt/luggage claim number. The elevator/escalator ride will be before immigration, if you happened to check in all your luggage all the way to your final destination like you mentioned before, it would be Nuremberg then you do not need to collect your luggage, you will collect it in Nuremburg .......but if Qatar Airways advise you to check in your luggage again at T3, then you need to collect the luggage first before taking the train from T5 to T3. Let me know if this is clear for you so I can further help you.

    Does one need to pay for the use of trolleys at Heathrow Airport?

    • @Bachling1
      @Bachling1  Před 11 měsíci

      To be honest, I never used trolley but this information will help you.
      Baggage trolleys are provided for your use free of charge in key areas around the terminal buildings. Arriving passengers will find plenty of trolleys in baggage reclaim, and these can be taken to the car park, bus station or rail station access points.
      Trolleys are also provided on the departures concourse. Please note that they can't be taken through security control.
