    I’ve got the Kona ultimate. It has the HUD and a sun roof. Leather seats , heated not cooled . The reason the N didn’t get those was due to covid , the cost to add those features in the US would have easily at the time made the car into the 40s.
    I hear you about the seats getting hot , if you haven’t already I suggest nano ceramic tint all the way around , no more hot seats.

    I noticed my car hopped when i first got it, later i replaced both CV joints and had the right bearing serviced. But after having the car awhile the engine or transmission at 45 mph would hiccup as if i had a valve cover leak with intermittent skips in vacuum pressure? Eventually began doing this at higher speeds and more so if i turned on other equipment. Yes the torque converter and wondered if that hop is a bad torque converter?
    Mine is not a Kona. Mine is a Hyundai Elantra 06. The 04’s were more amazing! The engine was so quiet that it was as if i was driving an EV. The fuel capacity is 14 gallons. I was interestedvin the Kona because i got hooked on the Hyundai brand and their introduction to luxery at an affordable price. Heated mirrors. 30 mph cruise control! This cop followed me for blocks unable to write me a ticket, lol!
    I really appreciate this video to learn how small a fuel tank capacity. Had never thought to include when shopping for my next vehicle. And noise at higher speeds. I enjoy working on my own car rather than pay someone to do the work. All wheel drive cars can be a money pit when the wear on the tires doesn’t match, to buy four new tires. And uneven wear leads to mechanical problems. Very expensive repairs. I wish i could buy a front wheel drive with independant rear suspension…

    What’s funny and disappointing is that there is a Tucson N line, I looked into it after my EN got totaled and was very disappointed that it was just an appearance package for the US, while the N line Tucson outside the US had added performance with a Turbo. I really wanted to like the car but driving it was very underwhelming. So I settled for the Sonata N-Line

    • @KonaNthusiast
      @KonaNthusiast  Před rokem +1

      Ahh, sonata N line is a great car as well. From my understanding, most of the n lines are just appearance packages, if they ever made a full blown N, I’d be down to get it. I have seen a rendering of the Tucson N, Santa Cruz Z, and palisade N. I wonder if they’ll ever come through with it

      @@KonaNthusiast that’s what I had thought about the Sonata N line till I read more on it and drove it and it does have added power. The standard - Limited trims have 180HP, while the N line gets an insane 290HP 2.5 turbo. If you thought the Kona N and EN Wheel spin is bad, you gotta experience the Sonata 🤣. Has way too much power for its own good, would’ve been great to have a AWD.
      It’s a trade off, I miss the active exhaust and sporty feel of the EN. Tho you’re right like the Kona N, the EN showed its economy roots and over time (especially in these horrible Florida roads) the plastic all over the interior of the EN would creek and tap/ vibrate, making it an annoying ride when I just want to have a quiet ride.
      Vs, the sonata does have better build quality all around, a pano moon roof etc. while still being fun to drive when you need/ want it to be and also surprisingly great MPG for its class.

    All brands of cars sent to US market are downgraded versions vs European other world makets. It's like manufacturers send us the trailer park versions and I think it's because US buyers are low expectations, and we're more impressed with the lipstick rather than the entire vehicle. When I went to Scotland a few years ago I was shocked when I saw all the standard features for a Ford Escort there vs US. I mean that car was hot and the people could not understand why I was so surprised. They were like, "why, this is no big deal, it's just a standard car". Leather seats and other features in a Ford Escort is not a standard car ya'll. Why do we in US settle for being 2nd class?

    • @KonaNthusiast
      @KonaNthusiast  Před 7 měsíci +2

      While I definitely agree with that, I think a lot of it is simply based on the manager for each company in the US market. I know a few N owners that talked to Tim K. That’s over the the Hyundai Kona planning for the US, and he said he wanted to keep the price as affordable as possible for the US. I definitely get that, but I also couldn’t understand that. Every other country has Kona N Base and Kona N premium, I wouldn’t have minded paying a few grand more the premium trim that comes with cooled seats, HUD and sunroof

      @@KonaNthusiast Yeah, I wish Hyundai would offer the Kona N in AWD so there was a practical benefit to it over the Elantra. As of right now unless you just want the extra space or like the body style better it has a lot of small drawbacks to the Elantra.

      @@parker73724 true! Me personally, I don’t think the Kona N needs AWD. A lot of guys up north and in Canada say that it performs well in the winter since it has a snow mode, you just need proper tires…. But that’s for any car in those conditions

    We need to advocate for better cars. The European versions of our cars are soooo much better.

    Whilst I haven"t got a Kona N as yet, I have done plenty of research and a billion reviews on the various N cars. I agree on the missing features, you guys get a raw deal. Here in Aus we pretty much get everything except for the euro/i30N FL wheels, which I love. In saying that I am sorta warming to the ones already on it. You kinda solved the axle tramp by changing lower engine mount, but it adds more.vibration through the car. I had it on my ST it worked a treat, just a trade off I guess. Good owner insight video, keep up the good work.

      Thanks! Hopefully you will have your N soon. Yeah the wheels are definitely something that should’ve been standard globally.
