Thanks for the video. Did you ever any exterior mods. I would like to extend the tailgate wing and add shark fins to the diffuser.
I haven’t done too many exterior mods. Really just side skirt decal and mud flaps but that’s it
@@KonaNthusiast What have you done for the side skirt decal? Mine gets dirty too fast in the N creavase.
@@S.Madman I ordered a decal sticker from a guy on Facebook, mine always gets dirty too haha but I also just ripped half of it off while on track a few weeks ago lol
sound clips?
Yes I will do a sound clip video in the next week or so
Light it is not.
Just a little correction on oil weights. The 5w40 your using breaks down like this: -5w is the oil weight at start up👈 -40w is the oil weight once it warms up This applies to ALL multi-viscocity oil. Up here in Chicagoland I run 0w30/0w40 Mobil 1.
Ahh that makes sense! Thanks for the tip. Yeah you definitely need 0w for Chicago in the winter haha
@KonaNthusiast yes we do but if you think about it, 0w flows to the moving parts even faster, thus getting lubed up even quicker💡
@@klasseact6663 that’s true
How do you have the navigation to look like that? On mine it is a 2D cartoon graph. Yours look like a satellite view.
So I actually just figured this out last week. Once you open up google maps on CarPlay, click on the settings icon and choose satellite map and it should change it automatically.
Congrats 👏🏽
Thank you 🙌🏽
@KonaNthusiast word of advice, if you plan on track your car. Invest in.a oil cooler. Keep doing your thing 👌🏽
@@NBABY-J thanks man, yeah I was thinking about getting one eventually but I honestly only track the car 1-2 times a year. It’s definitely on the bucket list for sure though
Congrats bro
Thanks bro! 😎
Congrats on 1k subs man!
Thanks bro! Trying to get like you 😎 haha
@@KonaNthusiast hah, you already there man! Keep it up!
I’m not being able to connect the factory wire to the pierburg solenoid. The factory seems to be a bit bigger. Did your kit come with an extension wire or something?
I believe mine came from my sxth bov
My Veloster N 6 MT gets between 26 and 28 mpg on country back roads commuting to work. I don't drive it like a little old lady either. For the fun factor and the capability when I need it I think I get pretty good mileage. The few times I have been on the turnpike for awhile I hit 30+ mpg easily. That is on regular 87 octane gas so I know my timing is pulled a bit.
Nice, that’s not bad at all, especially for 87 octane!
@KonaNthusiast I ran 87 on my Gen Coupe. I traded it at over 134k miles and she still ran like a top. If you are not banging the engine off the rev limiter it is not noticeable. On back roads when I pass illegally I am shifting by 5k or less. I am probably a bit easier on my engine than many others. Tires...not so much.
@@arthurmroyce Nice. Yeah these cars don’t even require full throttle to have fun, just throw it around into a few corners and that’s all you need
I’ve got the Kona ultimate. It has the HUD and a sun roof. Leather seats , heated not cooled . The reason the N didn’t get those was due to covid , the cost to add those features in the US would have easily at the time made the car into the 40s. I hear you about the seats getting hot , if you haven’t already I suggest nano ceramic tint all the way around , no more hot seats.
Nice! Yeah it definitely would’ve brought the price into the 40s, but it would’ve been nice to have those features as well
Yeah but this is pretty much intended to be a track car...@@KonaNthusiast
@@BenBrrown yes, but what I’m saying is other countries have these features on the Kona N. Just doesn’t make sense to not offer it to every market
U should have got the LIMITED, fully loaded.
Unfortunately we do not get a limited version of the N here in the states. It’s just a mix of the base and the limited
What elevation are you? I was able to pull a 8.2 in the 1/8 with jb4 map 6 and intake only. If you want some solid performance you should sell the jb4 and get a n75 stage 2 ecu. That was my next step and what a difference. Nice vids!
I’m not sure of the elevation, but like I said in the video, the issues I had on that night were related to boost. My intake had an incorrect coupler for my inlet. I have an updated video coming out soon of it does at the drag strip. But yeah I’m trying to get ECU tune one day, but I’m in no rush. I’ve raced my friend’s EN with stage 2 ECU tune and I kept up
@@KonaNthusiast no doubt. The jb4 is a good tool for sure. What you gain with the ecu tune is octane learning is always maxed out so you can full performance at all times. The jb4 unfortunately doesn’t override octane learning
@@Talaria567 that is true, that’s definitely my main gripe with JB4. Whenever I’m octane learned it’s way faster but I usually don’t ever get a chance to octane learn here because of traffic
Did you change out your spark plugs, for this install?
Yes, about 1k before the install
Good luck with quality 🤷♂️ Was at a meet last weekend and the guy had this for his EN and the plexiglass window was warped and the hose to box kept popping off every 2 weeks. He called/emailed...no response🤷♂️ I had this on my 2018 ES and everything warped over a 3 year period....AND no way to service the filter without taking it all apart, glad I got the N Performance intake and Shark Racing turbo inlet pipe, the latter comes as a 2 piece and my buddy, with bigger hands, had NO problem installing ANY of these parts on my EN🤷♂️ ...as for my N75 Stage 1 ECU tune, long story, not good after 2 different ones, live and learn, do your research and check out companies that have been in business for a LONG time💡 Apparently it's easy to make power @WOT, partial throttle isn't go easy🙄🙄🙄
Oh wow, that’s crazy. Mine has been pretty solid so far Glad to hear your install experience went well, definitely wish I could say the same lol But yeah I’m sorry you had experience. But yeah it’s hard to find solid tuning these days, I think most are good but all seem to have at least one short fall
@KonaNthusiast yeah and even though LAP3 has been around since 2002, @$1900 for how I'd spec my ECU tune, I'd have $3000 tied up in 2 ECU tunes. I'm going to try and sell my spare ECU to recoup some of my lost tune money🤷♂️
Hyundai of Germany has a nice cover for the stock airbox it has plexiglass but is very solid and the N performance logo is on it and it is a factory part.
@@cindysue5474 that's the N Performance intake they sell in S. Korea at the dealerships as an upgrade, I got mine from Shark 🦈 Racing, along with they turbo inlet pipe that matches up with it, nice kit/combo😉
@@klasseact6663 The one I seen looks a little different I will have to check again.
que turbo noises...
😮💨😎
That inlet took 3 hours for me to install, you gotta have baby hands to work back there. Also mine did come with the couplet.
Sheesh but yeah definitely needed small hands for that job lol
@KonaNthusiast dumb question but why do they have the N available in an suv, when it isn't as cool as the sedans? Ironically saw a 24 kona driven by an elderly couple today (I live in Australia btw) and my thought of them is that it looks like they have come from the future with the occupants being aliens in disguise (they even asked the group I was with, where we got our food from, first thing you do when you arrive in the past, is look for food). But seriously, I think they look ugly and people only find suvs cool if the design is like how they try to make 4x4s "tough". I saw a video where they doing time trials, weaving in and out of "k"ones and I cringed when I saw the suv do the course, just don't look and the one in the video, didn't sound cool (like no popping and cracking), unlike the two sedans in the video who took the course before the suv. But I guess hyndai must appeal to all sorts of people - but you can't really "race" in an suv due to the dynamics and size of the thing (and the N is supposed to be all about the track and performance). But yeah, I guess it's something that appeals to you, but probably not to some other people
I just got the '24 intense blue EN
Nice! Congrats and welcome to the N family
You drove pirelli p-zero in the winter? Well ya of course its not gonna last long, its a summer tire
Well every VN and KN has the same complaint, regardless of what time of year they are driven. They’re just trash
@@KonaNthusiast every Elantra N owner would also have the same complaint if there were dumb enough to use them in the winter. All summer tires (ps4s and pirelli pzero) only are recommended for 45 degrees f and up
@@adamz4737 okay bud 👍🏽
I just went for the 24 N line I acutally traded my Elantra N manual 2022 and I feel more comfortable
Interesting switch but I dig it. Better mpgs and less aggressive suspension
Owned a 2020 VZ 2022 EN 2022 KN and a 2023 EN Kona was my favorite just for over all comfort and getting in and out of. At times it felt more playful to.
That’s true! It is easier to get in and out of, it’s definitely way more playful
Just saw a black 24 N that came into the dealer near mean man was it nice
Nice, you should get it 👀😎
It’s the better option for a performance compact because of the price of it…mostly!
Agreed!
Thanks for the info
No problem 🤙🏽
Wassup brother I really want to see how the new mounts do in the 24 but yea thoes wheels look amazing
Yeah I’m curious too, I watched a video of someone driving it the other day and it doesn’t seem like it’s much better
bro just buy wheels for your Kona!
True true, but the wheels aren’t the main reason for me wanting the Elantra N. I always just prefer the interior and driving the dynamics over the Kona’s.
Fuel economy is actually lower on the 2024 per the EPA. Not exactly sure why though.
Yeah I found that out after recording this 🤦🏽♂️ it’s definitely weird that it’s getting less, maybe the new front end is less efficient 🤷🏽♂️
Just because it's measured differently doesn't mean that translates to the real world. I am getting exactly the same economy vs my old 22.
@@andywiththen that’s true. I always outperform my highway EPA numbers. It’s just weird that the EPA rating went down
@@andywiththen That's good to know. Enjoy it.
@KonaNthusiast That's possible, it definitely looks less aerodynamic to my eye. It would be interesting to know the drag coefficients of each.
Right now getting some injectors replaced on my Kona N.They gave me an Elantra the plain one it is a good riding car more pick up then I thought it would have if there was no Kona N I would of bought an Elantra N for sure.
Sorry to hear about your injectors, but I’m glad you’re enjoying the Elantra. Too bad it’s not an N
What exactly was your KN doing when the injectors went bad🤔
@@klasseact6663 usually it would give out a very lean smoke out the exhaust and it would run with a misfire, sounded just like a Subaru
@@KonaNthusiast hmmm, I had an issue of partial throttle making it "stumble" and once threw a misfire code for cylinder #2, cleared and no problem. The solution was swapping OUT my tuned ECU and putting the stock one BACK IN, smooooth. 440 miles of waste🤔
@@klasseact6663 wow that’s weird actually
Not a 10 spd
Nice video! I just had my fuel injector go out at 35k miles.... hopefully this won't be a common trend
Sorry to hear that man! I’d definitely recommend a few things to help out with that. Message me on instagram.
Nice runs!! Keep it up.
Thanks man 🤙🏽
Very informative. Have you experienced any wear and tear in the interior and seats? It seems that lots of people complain about wear and tear issues in all the N models, and at the same time, complain about problems with the transmission. Have you experienced these problems?
I haven’t experienced any issues with the interior or seats wearing. Also the transmission has been a gem, no issues whatsoever with that so far. Only issue I have is fuel injector issues. But that’s seemed to have worked itself out
Why would you do this on a 45 mph road with cars turning left and right onto the road? If you are going to be an idiot at least do it on the highway/freeway
I did 4.06 seconds in my 22 Stinger GT2 AWD only mod I had was VT Snorkels.
Just waxed one today in my Kona N. I was surprised myself 😅 I thought Chargers were fast? 🤔 loud, though .
lol nice, yeah they’re fast compared to the average car but honestly not fast in the sports car segment, way too heavy lol
I test drove all three after 6 months of looking I got my 22Elantra N with 2900 miles on it last week
Nice!! Hope you’re enjoying it
I’m hearing you mate, just about everything you bought up is about the same in Australia 🇦🇺 yes we can get a sunroof,
would you recommend upgrading the hpfp if just running map 2?
Oh yes, I’d recommend it with any amount of tuning.
Anyone have the bulb model numbers/sizes for the 3 interior dome lights. I have them LED now but they’re garbage, they’re dim and they flicker and looking to change them out. They came in a kit so they never said the sizes.
Dome lights should be DE3175 (31MM) OR T15 (912 921)
Is your dct slipping
Nah, I was having issues with the boost due to an intake coupler issue
@@KonaNthusiast how many miles you have now?

That’s true lol but also I rode in Danny’s VN 😈😎

@@perfblue_n lol oh I know. I’ll have to get a video of yours for the channel next time we meet
If youre in manual mode, is it better to shift when the "shift light" turns red? Im seeing it delay to 6500 rpm in automatic.
Yes it’s honestly better, by the time you press the paddle once it’s red, it should shift in time. But I honestly just leave the car in automatic if I’m trying to get the fastest acceleration, the transmission in these cars are really smart
Love the N’s however can’t afford one rn so ima wait 3 years when the major refresh comes for the Elantra n and I’ll go ahead and buy it hopefully it comes with the 2.5L or RWD
That’s a good idea. I really hope it gets the 2.5t
