Having played this game for years on PC, you guys are in for a treat.
Ok
I agree - however, I'm most curious to know how the controls are going to translate. That could make or break a game like this. I can't imagine this game using anything other than KBM...
Well, it’s way better on PC.
The devs have been hard at work to make the gameplay as easy as possible using a controller scheme. True, Factorio is always going to be better with a mouse and keyboard, but don't let that dissuade you, it's an absolutely excellent game.
The touch screen controls should be pretty nice!
@@trevan5035 Yes but the game was never made with any controler imput in mind so alot of mechaniks just wont feel as good as on M&K
It’s on PC?
@@BrandonB Yes, it's been in development since about 2012 on PC and this is the first time it's been ported as far as I'm aware. Check out the reviews on steam to get a good idea about it if you'd like.
I played the game wayyyy too much i was addicted to it, its a word that are now being used lightly but im not joking. I was near playing it for a week straight and that was when online started so i was basically 24/7 the game. Im looking back to playing it again
Dev said on this blog that the avarage factory that can launch rockets will still run at 60 UPS so I'm excited about this. Factorio is one of the best games ever.
nobody cares
@@spencerwilliams461 about you
@MayorBryce UPS = Updates per second. It’s a second metric used for the updates of the game per second. It’s like fps, but more of the backend running the processes. Less updates and it’s a more laggy, sticky feeling game.
@@garofp Factorio is known for being extraordinarily well developed and optimized. It runs on the most potato-ie of PC's, so there's no doubt that it'll run well. But players typically just continue to scale to massive sizes, which is why Straightbanana's metric was a base that can launch a rocket and still maintain at least 60 ups. If you haven't tried it before, it's an insanely good game
@MayorBryce ups is actually more important than fps in factorio. It’s not that you won’t see every frame or smth. The game literally slows down if your ups is low. It always has 60 frames in a second, even if that second should take several seconds of real time. But unless you go really ham with the size of your base, you should be alright when it comes to game speed.
Factorio is one of the very best games to come out in the last 10 years. Get it.
I second this.
Supportive message goes here
I wanted to try it out, but i always though it seemed super complex xD you think the gameplay will translate good to switch?
@@MoiBlackInk The designer has been apparently working hard to make it work well with a controller. I doubt that it will be better than a mouse and keyboard, but I doubt it'll be bad.
Factorio looks more complex than it is -even in this trailer. It has a decent campaign that acts as a tutorial, and the game starts off pretty slow. I think you'll probably be okay. There is a bit of reading especially in your first couple of plays, but you get the hang of it pretty quickly.
The amount of content you get out of Factorio for just $30 is insane.
It is the game you think you'll play just an hour of and you'll suddenly look down and see 4 hours gone.
@@LegoAssassin098 I'll definitly give it a try then, i dont have any basebuilding games like this right now and it seems a cool game to play handheld at bed or long trips :) thanks man!
do not let the limitations of PC stop you. The factory must grow

oh uh the factory must grow
This was the biggest thing for me during the direct. Cracktorio was such an amazing time sink and I even considering getting a steam deck just to play it more often. I implore everyone to at least see what this game has to offer.
The Factory Must Grow
Is that a league of legends reference? 😜
Ah yes, league of legends, the game where you build factories…
This was the bigger surprisee for me than Pikmin 4 in the direct!
So excited for it :D
If you like puzzles and problem solving play this game. It's really addicting.
the factory must grow
The factory must grow!
people who do not know Factorio do not know what is coming, this was my favorite thing of the direct ❤️
i came to the comments bc i knew that a game like this has its niche. this isn’t my type of game but it still has just the same dedicated fan base as i expected. there really is something for everyone. it’s what i love about video games so much :))
You really should try it out, there is a demo on steam, trust me, you will get addicted
@@magicpopolito what keeps you playing it?
@@AtendoFan SOMEONE has to grow the factory. Might as well be you.

The factory must grow!
I've known about this game for some time. It has a very distinct early to mid 90s PC strategy game look to it, which is part of what makes it so special. Now that it's coming to Switch, more people will get a chance to try it out and that's great!
when your factory expands so much that goes portable
The factory
Must
GROW
Thank God I no longer have to take breaks from growing the factory at work and school now
nice
nice seeing you hear sir, reporting for duty, sir.
Definitely pick this up when you can. Can easily drop tens or hundreds of hours into this game. The backround tracks and sound design are especially good and compliment this type of game perfectly.
THE FACTORY MUST GROW!
If this has touch screen support then this would be hard to pass up!
It does!
This was one of the only things that even grabbed my attention from that direct. Looks neat
this is fun game, but I can't imagine playing this other than PC. The mouse gives so much freedom
Rimworld, which is a game that faces a very similar dilemma, as they have many similarities, came out with an optmization for the steam deck, so that is probably a good parallel. If Factorio achieves the same amount of success in porting to a controller scheme that Rimworld did, it will be a great "on the go" experience, but with a game pace that is noticeably slower. How much you can take that pacing change is up to you, but in my case the portable Rimworld experience is only when the PC is not an option. I'd wager this will be the same.
@@In.New.York.I.Milly.Rock. games don't really come out for the steam deck, also you can play factorio on the steam deck right now.
@@J0vani92 true but the Rimworld devs made it work with the Steam Decks specific controls using the TouchPads. They didn't have to so that and could of just left it at the standard PC controls. Rimworld is also available on console too.
I love at the end of the trailer you can see a sneak peak of a great late-game element in the top right come crawling in.
Can't wait to play this on my lunch break where I work at a factory.
Props if you noticed that giant monster in the far right corner at 1:54.
Oh. That's not a monster. That's the best thing you can get in the entire game. I'm not gonna spoiler it. But my god it's amazing (unless you're an arachnophobe. In which case, don't look)
@@roadtrain_ (**Sounds of Mirth and Laughter**)...Wow, that sound epic. Thanks for clarifying that. Appreciate it. Many strategy games have taught us the joys of wielding giant all-powerful units: Rise of Legends, Age of Mythology, Supreme Commander to name a few.
I had just gotten into this game the other month. Been playing it on PC.
This brings me profound joy
THE FACTORY MUST GROW BEYOND THE PC BORDERS
The factory must grow!
I am so happy I was not the first person to comment this.
This looks really close to my idea of a sim city/ rts hybrid dream game
One of the best and addictive games ever.
Always wanted to play this game, never had a pc. This is a godsend
The factory must grow.
The factory (and cleansing of bugs with high explosive ordinance from trains) must grow.
The factory must grow!
The factory must grow!
The factory must grow!
The factory must grow
I hope there will be a Demo for the Switch.
I tried the one on PC once, but somehow couldn't get warm with the game.
Wich is strange, since economy games a one of my favourite.
the demo will come the say day the same as the pc version
I had the same experience. This seems right up my alley. Tried it on Steam and it was..interesting and had potential but like you said - didn't stick, so I hope a more laid back entry with a controller could help. Skyrim was the same way first time. Couldn't get into it, but later tried with a USB controller and that changed Everything.
This game gets infinitely better if you have a buddy to play it with. I can't play this solo but together? It's great.
Lots of optimisation for this, not just a simple port job. Will still run better on PC overall but the experience should be fun
I love the way this was presented. Soon Switchbros shall understand the pain of the large biter.
I have been waiting for a factory game on the Switch :) Now to see if it plays well with a controller
Addicting
Factorio is awesome. Love that game :)
please buy this game it is so good
THE FACTORY MUST GROW
I hope there will be some use of the gyro for controls, to simplify menus...etc as its a PC game at heart, will be perfect if they have nailed controller mappings.
Gentlemen,
It’s time to E X P A N D.
The factory must grow!
I'm so excited!!! I love this game.
I am cautiously excited about it. Always dreamt of having it on switch ever since I saw that Steam Deck promo with Factorio playing on it (the Deck isn't available in my country). And now it's happening 🥺🥺🥺
Oh great, so now I can finally take a break from my factorio on my PC to play it on the couch
C'est nickel ça ! Enfin sur console Avez vous le projet aussi de le sortir sur ps4-5 ?
I can’t wait!!
Wow,my dream came true , i wanted to play factorio on switch …cant wait
P.s
Plz add local wireless too
Loving the interesting scale of this game
This is the coolest get for switch ever like who would have thought Victoria was coming to console at all let alone switch this is awesome I'm super excited
Yea, I can't wait to do Victoria on the go! :D
when i saw the steam deck I wished if I had one just for factorio, oxygen not included, and rim world. factorio making it to the switch is huge since its the most time sink of them all for me, especially with the switch having some decent tycoon games too like Cities Skylines, Rollercoasters tycoon 3, and two points hospital. they kept me busy in my long 16 hours flight.
10/10 top 5 games of all time
I wonder what the other 4 are then?
This one seems like a winner to me, I love the music
5 FPS Endgame
The intro literary made me think " _Did Mandaloregaming make this trailer?!_ "
I still want to know how you can control this.
Touch makes sense, but I've never had any luck with a controller.
The only thing I want now is this game on everything so the factory can grow across all platforms
3 days ago I asked the steam forum about my wish for factorio to be on switch
>no mods
>No kb+m
>Mega bases 100% guaranteed to slow down
There is literally no point to this port; if you were gonna make a Factorio port why not to an actual console that has a chance of running it properly?
chill dog
it lets people who have a switch but not a dedicated computer play the game? its also an on the go factorio... not sure what else you could ask for
I hope it comes to playstation too this game is so much fun.
Great idea to bring it to the switch
Yeah, I could see this coming to PS and XBOX soon.
The bugs caught me off guard with this one... 😂
is this gonna run ok on the switch? there is a lot of constantly moving parts in this game and ive noticed some slowdown on other game with a lot going on
In their blog the Devs said that a factory able to launch a rocket (endgame things) can run at 60FPS
"Oh god, it seems we've crash landed here on this planet"
I just adore how they reuse their trailer. It’s like a bit now
My DREAMS are coming TRUE!!
I never thought the switch would get Destiny
Was this actually in the direct? I must’ve completely missed it, no idea how though
yes
This is an extended trailer. It showed up in the direct for like 20-30 seconds.
@@RadTony the direct one is shortened, this trailer is the normal trailer for the game
Loved that Danny Elfman inspired theme
I absolutely love this game on Steam, I can’t believe it is coming to Switch! Definitely gonna be getting it on launch day!
Enjoy downgrading to 20 fps bro
@@yeahtbh.161 C’mon… there’s no need to unnecessarily bash Nintendo Switch like that! The developers have literally confirmed the game runs at 30 - 60 FPS consistently, in both handheld and on the TV.
@@yeahtbh.161 bro, they even said it will be 60 FPS what do you mean
@@Crocdor_UwU Exactly!
@@KDT_Gaming unnecessarily bash? lol I own a switch and it can't even run resident evil REmake without dropping frames lmao a ps3 has more power ffs
Literally the best game in the direct and it's not even close
Zelda objectively took a bigger spotlight
@@STuffSuperRandom no gameplay
@@STuffSuperRandom Notice how he said the "best" game, not the one with the biggest spotlight.
Those two descriptions are not mutually exclusive.
@@LegoAssassin098 uh, yeah, it's exactly "best" game
You're a 0 IQ moron of you think Factorio is a better game. No way that runs so well on switch as it's shown on trailer. High end PCs barely fart it out
But sure, whatever your abscenece of brains wants you to believe kid.
Chill out, angry adolescent
Though I don't know why I expected anything smart from a guy with a "Lego assassin 98" nickname 🤣
Its a game I've always wanted to play. Wonder how well the Switch will cope with it
i wish i had the mental capability to create something that insane. I get stuck on creating green science from assemblers
Well that's a thing i didn't expect but I'm glad to see.
Didn't think i would use that sentence with Nintendo of all things 💀
The game that excited me the most in the last direct 🤩
Just have to confirm the Portuguese language in the game to sell me
Atleast on the pc, there are a ton of languages, so portugese should be there as well i’d imagine
HECK YAAAAAA
I’m really fascinated by this. Never played it, must admit it looks intimidating.
Try the demo on Steam, you wont regret it
Better yet, try the demo on the games developer's official site. You get like 30 days with limited content, but that's better than the two hours steam gives you
Мне интересно как в него возможно будет играть то? Или часть будет на сенсорном управлений?
love this game!!!
Now, we can E X P A N D everywhere anywhere
The only question I have is: will there be mod support?
Out of all the kinda farming sims this and harvestilla look good
this is not a farming sim. If anything it is more like a survival-type game with a lot of automation of gathering/building/etc. It is one of the top rated games out there
Another simulator that includes farming? Let’s Goooo!!!
Factorio has no farming. It has mining though.
Pls do touch input
The entire Factorio community just selling the game in the comments and telling great things about the game. I will do no different thing.
Buy this game if you want to achieve true happiness. That's not as good as you might think, because when you stop playing everything else just isn't that good anymore. It's up to you.
You never have enough iron. Seriously aways focus on your iron supplies.
Correction. You never have enough iron... until you start on red circuits and then you're suddenly copper starved :D
This actually looks fun, might be tempted with it. But it also looks like the type of game I'll get frustrated at because I didn't read something correctly and now I can't figure out how to do/make something 😂
Give it a try. It's pretty straight forward. Easy to learn, hard to master.
Cheers, me (with 1200+ hours in the game) :)
thing is you slowly make simole thing until you look back to factory and realize how complex looking factory became
I hope it comes out on xbox soon
Ooooh this one looks interesting
I'm sure you will have to play this docked all the time or your battery will be gone before you know it! many many hours on this game!
Nintendo please make a remake of Custom Robo and Fossil Fighter's please
