my boyfriend and I (early thirties and my family is actually from Jamaica) went here in 2021 and would only return if we could secure a room higher in level than the private plunge pool suites. there was a sewage problem everyone seem to be in denial of when we were there, the sheets and towels were stained so I had to get them changed upon arrival. the furniture is in serious need of updating (this was covered in your video so interesting to know it wasn't an isolated thing). the best things - super quiet adults only and the guests are all just looking to chill and relax, the arrival champagne was a nice touch, the gelato and all of the food was amazing (our fave was the jamaican restaurant, the steak house is a close 2nd, the jerk chicken although good wasn't amazing or true to the authentic version imo which was strange) things I'd change - trying a different kind of room (if possible to receive one not showing its age), the entertainment was lackluster and we honestly found ourselves bored each night after dinner, the tv channels are severely lacking so we ended up watching netflix on our phones. could definitely use an option or two per week/weekend for a chance to party.
Love all the continued progress in putting out the quality content and extra editing and post production you've been putting in. Many don't understand how tedious it can be with a laptop vs having a whole PC setup.

I agree!!! I was there last week and had a blast!!! The food was great, the experience was chill, and not a party hotel, but the people there made it an excellent experience. The staff goes over and beyond for you!!! I love your videos. Please continue to bring us great content!!!
Stayed here October 2023 in the same room you booked. We loved it! Room service, club service , food, even transfers were great! Planning to go back this fall. There was a lot we didn’t get to see.

So many of these videos spend too much time showing the room features or arriving/checking in to the resort that they lose the viewers' interest right away. Hey hey Sir James ! Two glasses of champagne 🍾 upon arrival …my kind of entrance. And I love me a martini bar . Definitely liked the look of this place …very nice indeed. The string performer was a unique touch and agree she sounded great .
I had an awesome time in Vegas . Stayed in the renovated suites at Bellagio. They did a great job with it . I loved Le Cirque . The best part is I won 3 grand on the slots so it was a good time for sure . 😎😎😎

Great video James! We discovered Excellence because of your Punta Cana review, and visited the one in Playa Mujeres last fall and absolutely loved it. We’re going to Oyster Bay next fall for our anniversary and booked the EC level as always. Best all inclusive resorts we’ve been to.

My wife and I stayed at EOB a few weeks ago in the Imperial suite and were treated like royalty! Our deck was huge and could've had a party with 50 people! The plunge pool was in the corner and had direct sunlight all day making it nice and warm. Didn't have a bad meal all week including room service. Room service pizza was really good! Service was great and the people were warm and friendly! Island time is a real thing in Jamaica so relax, slow down and enjoy the time you have at this beautiful resort!

Great review! Oddly enough we just stayed at Coral Level Cancun and had a rooftop pool and our only complaint was that there was no cover 😂. So good to know with this property
My wife and I stayed here last year. We have visited many Sandals and secrets. This resort absolutely blew us away. We stayed in a beach house room and it was breathtaking.

Stayed in the same room type in Sept 2023 on the other side of the main pool (our view was the tranquil side). The sun on the deck was just right. Pool was in the sun the seating was mostly shaded. And we paid less than $600/night for EC

We went here for our honeymoon and had the same room as you. We had a great time except for some rainy days. We're going to check out Secrets Playa Blanca next at Costa Mujeres.

yet another fantastic video. But i have to ask, when did you travel (month) and at what time of day do you go to the pool areas? In most of the shots it looks like the resort is more than half empty (plenty of beach and pool chairs, empty tables in restaurants etc) I would have thought it would be far more crowded.
Must be more windy in the Spring. We were in Montego Bay in August of ‘21 and it was not windy. Were in Negril last June and no wind at all!
We were unsure about Excellence Oyster Bay. Now we want to get there!

I'm sold! 🙂 I'm always more drawn to resorts that may not necessarily be the most luxurious but more than make up for it in terms of personality, energy and charisma, and this resort certainly isn't lacking in luxury even with the rooms being a bit worn. 😊

Zara! How exciting is that! I know that you started with my Vegas content but I can assure you that many of your most memorable moments will come internationally. Jamaica is an easy first trip because of the lack of language barrier, but most of the staff at reputable and established resorts in PC and Mexico speak english! First of all, I’d like to tell you that your review of Excellence Oyster Bay was phenomenal.
I’m going there for 11 days at the end of August so I’ve been looking at a lot of CZcams videos. It’s interesting your observations were very similar to what I observed.
1- You definitely need to get Excellence Club for the reasons you mentioned. So I got the beach house and my daughter and my granddaughter also got the club and another couple got the club also. I insisted that they did for the reasons you mentioned
2- it’s a shame you never had a chance to go to the beach house or point it out. I picked that option because I can go straight out to the beach, etc. and it looks wonderful.
3- your comment about the night disco was one that I had. I noticed some other Excellence properties had a place for nightlife. But I’m looking at the app. I did notice that they have a DJ at the sports bar late at night. I don’t know if that was there at the time of your visit.
4- just to let you know you don’t have to walk over to the Zenith club. They have golf carts that will take you from one end of the resort to another.
5- too bad you weren’t able to go to the gym because from what I’ve seen it is phenomenal
6- also the X-lounge has an infinity pool on the roof that looks fantastic. But I don’t think it’s a party atmosphere up there. It’s more, from what I’ve seen, a very relaxing tranquil environment.
As usual, I was looking forward to your review and it didn’t disappoint. I trust your opinion more than anyone else on CZcams. Now, we are really looking forward to going there in August.

Yo Phre! Actually, one of the main ports (Kingston?) was down while I was there, so the Montego Bay ports were packed while I was there. In fact many of them stayed an extra night, which I am told is extremely rare.

Loved this review and your content always. I stayed here last year and I agree the pool rooms are a waste of money. We had the pool on the bottom level and rarely used it. I also agree about the nightlife (non existent). The pool scene was also a bit boring or non existent after about 2/3pm. If this resort had a better beach, pool scene, and nightlife, it would be unstoppable.
You were there the same week as my husband and I saw you at the buffet Saturday morning. I didn't know who you were then. We were in BH 904 with private pool and agree about the no sun. I didn't realize the plunge pool rooms were the same

This is better than Excellence Punta Cana, but also slightly and much different. Excellence Punta Cana is a very special place. I'll do all of the Mexico ones next, probably starting next year.

I had a wonderful crowd while I was there. Crowd can be hit or miss, but mine was a hit.
