- We do 3 pulls to see who wins between the electric quad motor Rivian R1T and the 6.7L diesel Ford F350 Super Duty Tremor. The results might surprise you!

Let's put them on water up to the bottom of the doors and see which one comes out running
Water Fording of the Ford is about 33 inches. The Rivian is about 43 inches. However the Tremor is lifted about 6 inches. In that case maybe the mud terrains might shine, or the weight of the Rivian with smaller tires might give it enough traction.
Excellent video guys!!!! Love the idea, the production and the great test!! Love what you guys do! Honesty, transparency and quality!
Now let's run the quarter mile 🤔
HAHAHA that's not even close. Rivian will make the Ford look like it's standing still. 0-60 in 3 seconds is crazy fast.
@@DirtComplexthere is a video of the Rivian towing a 5,000# trailer in the 1/4 mile and still beating the Raptor.
That was awesome!!! Cool products you got there. That's a beautiful flag you got flying up there ❤
can you test against a stock f150? heavy duty vs mid season pick up not even full size LOL
That Rivian looks really good 👍
Thanks!!
Did you try Tow Mode in the Rivian? Tires are definitely a difference
I was hoping to extract the most power by putting it in sport mode. By the 3rd pull it was very apparent that the Tremor was going to drag the tires no matter what mode I was in.
@@DirtComplex Yes, I figured that was your goal. I think the Rivian puts down full power in Tow mode and maybe more torque to the rear motors? Here is from US News Cars article: "Lots of extremely low-end torque translates into stout towing capacity. In Tow Mode, the R1T engages the maximum amount of torque at all four wheels consistently. This allows the R1T to tow up to 11,000 pounds. That rivals some of the most capable full-size light-duty trucks and blows away the compact truck segment."
would like to see Hummer EV VS HD ford maybe the new Highoutput
I think the new HO Ford motor in 4x4 4LO will still win over the Hummer. The Hummer is much heavier so it will definitely be harder to pull. However the Hummer is 11,000 lb-ft at the ground where the Tremor with the transfer case and gear multiplication is well north of 30,000 lb-ft torque.
Also, did you give the computer gremlins time to figure it out? Not that I see. You need to keep flooring it (not feathering it) until they figure it out.
You want apples to apples for the 2? Do a tractor pull.
The Rivian was floored the entire time. You are correct that the computer gremlins kept the wheels from spinning but if I had floored it any harder my foot would have gone through the floor! hahaha.
The ev truck tractor pulls so far I've seen are pretty darn good for stock trucks. 👍🏻
honestly a test i been wanting to see because a f150 is to light to go up against EV and honestly thought even HD would have issues as well because of the weight and instant torque!!
Ok now try out that Tremor against GMC Hummer EV !!!
Is that my shackle that harry is using 😂😂😂
I think your shackle is floating around somewhere in the shop. That shackle came out of the ARB bag in the 4runner hahahah.
bad ass video top 👏👏👏👏👏💫🏕️
Thanks for watching!
You did NOT use the correct drive mode boys..... Hitch height has to be even, Huge advantage having a higher hitch height.
Hey thanks for watching. The hitch height was something we were concerned about as well. With that hitch height the Ford should have pulled the rear of the Rivian UP giving the rear tires less traction. In the video you can see that the rear tires of the Rivian did not even break traction and instead spun backwards. The Ford in 4LO easily pulled the Rivian so we did not do any more tests due to the fact that it was obvious even with the rear tires spinning that the Tires was a very unfair advantage.
We will be doin another test with better tires.
Which drive mode do you think we should have used?
Do this same test. Use Sand mode. upon pulling you have to get it! Launch the Rivian like you are at a dragstrip. It removes the computer limiting the power due to recognition of a heavy load. Enjoy :) Watch my pull videos to see what we do. Took a whole season to figure out how to start a pull with the most power the Rivian will offer. It is still only about 500hp output. If we could unlock this truck, the world would be amazed. @@DirtComplex
@@DirtComplex could you try it again but in max height off road mode? That might make the hitch receiver height more even overall.
Also maybe ask a rivian guide what they would recommend for a tow off like this?
@4literv6 Once we get new tires on the Rivian we will definitely do it again!
You guys still in business? Ordered the HD over 4 months ago. No reply’s no return phone calls.
WTF?!?
Talk a big game but customer service bits.
I’m not far from Montclair I need answers
You order one of these things from them and go ahead order a bed cover from Renegade (both big on MADE IN US) then you’re done bro! Literally just forget about it! Maybe a year or two later one of them will arrive surprises you either with missing parts or damaged powder coat. Well, maybe they’ll offer you a $100 discount if you’re lucky but you’ll have to ship those weights back to them for repair which you’ll pay well over $100. The good news is at least this swing thingy is somewhat universal, if you happen to sell your current vehicle or your lease ends before you receive it, hopefully it fits your next vehicle! 😂😂😂😂😂
Any update?
@@bonnevillebagger9147 I’ll have an answer tomorrow.
Been in communication with the owner and apparently they had an issue with the manufacture of a specific part.
My patience is at the jumping off point.
We’ll see what’s up tomorrow. I’ll let you know
@@XX-XYOnly so you have been waiting 8 months? Their website says 8 weeks. I’m currently dealing with a 2x wait from Gobi: so I’m not pumped to get involved in another. But I do prefer their swing design.
I purchased Sept 20 2023.
Also curious how much juice the rivian loses in a few tugs lol
It was only 3 pulls for a very short amount of time. Efficiency dipped down to 1.27mi/kWh so if we are assuming 25 seconds for 3 pulls then it's going to be a very small number when you convert hours to minutes to seconds....
None, actually charges the battery
Probably about 1% for all the pulls.
Jordan Poole. lol
I've just started watching the video, but my guess is the rivian is going to win.
Just finished the video. 😅
Rivian has 12.6:1 gear ratio with a final output of 10,325 lb-ft of "ground torque."... However the Super Duty has a 2.6:1 transfer case x 3.55 gear ratios x 4.6 first gear. So even with drivetrain loss factored in its still more torque than the Rivian!
