This is the reason why we need our own, our own networks, our own production companies, our own producers and directors, as well as our own writers. This show should have been on for 10 seasons, but Disney knows good and well that the main cast members would have to have been paid more than $1 million an episode, ain’t no way a black person in a sitcom is going to get that kind of dime from a major network. Anthony also left out another fantastic show, everybody hates Chris
Or, the show doesn't have the viewership it once had to compensate for the contracts. Even if we have our own networks, it's not gonna change the fact that shows gotta be cancelled if they aren't bringing in viewers. By the way, there are a number of black owned/black centric streaming networks and I do not hear a bunch of black people watching them or talking about their shows.

black-ish isn't a great show, it's a genius show. This might sound dumb but I'm a Latino that grew up around upper white class kids. I didn't relate to a lot of Hispanic culture but was always drawn to black music, culture, etc. So I related to black-ish in this unique way of being caught in the middle of multiple cultures.
Right I love blackish. Well I'm black. Glad to see other races enjoying a great black show

I really miss the era where black casts were thriving, I feel so lucky to have grown up being able to turn the tv on and see our people - full black casts, doing the best shows with the best writers. We need that back. Its a sad thing that they cancel black ish, and by modern standards I get it but truly… if they give the money to shows that arent as good… it really obviously boils down to a racial problem.

As usual interviewers can miss or forget big points. What needs to be said about Blackish ( everyone knows the show is phenomenal) is........." It is the first show in history where black people tell the truth about white people". The first one ever and they do it in a comedic and non-offensive way! It may also be the first show to include 3 generations of a family in every episode instead of rare cameos. In my opinion it may also be the funniest show ever ( weaves complex comedy with real issues ) and tops my no 1 Sanford & Son as funniest. The writing is phenomenal and ground breaking.

I said I would miss ONE episode of Criminal Minds so I could watch Blackish, but then I fell in love with it, and became a diehard fan of *Blackish.* Never went back to Criminal Minds. *The episode where you discuss the FEAR that Black people had when President Obama got out of the limo during his first inauguration was so truthful and beautiful; it lives with me still to this day.* 🙌🏽

@Liconic D the show doesn’t exclude anyone it just focuses on black issues while having a really diverse cast & as it was said it’s ran for over 8 seasons & 200 episodes so they must’ve done something right. Family matters only had one more season at 9 so it’s not really a big difference
