Redstone in MCPE is VERY Confusing..

- After 7 years of PC Redstone, I thought I would give it a go in the Windows 10 version.. It left me completely muddled.
Today we try out MCPE/Win10/console redstone. It was not an easy thing to get the hang of, but eventually we get the hang of it and build some interesting redstone builds!

Some say that bedrock edition runs smoother, because the deleted half of the redstone code
It does seem like they deleted half the ticks!
Its coz they put more optimization (coz for phone players and console players)in the game hints why it looks diffrent and some things are cut out from the game
@@Kxy2x it's actually because it's a completely different coding language! (Java for java, c++ for bedrock) different languages are better at different things, so there often ends up being big differences. In general, bedrock (C++) runs faster, but java is more easily modded!
@@antjecramer5324 Bedrock could have the exact same behavior regardless of language, but it was probably implemented in a different way with different subtle bugs and behaviors for performance reasons OR because all the behavior in Java is undocumented / not part of the requirements. I'm guessing both reasons played a role.
Java redstone was made by Notch’s shit code, bedrock doesn’t have it, causing oddities to appear on both platforms
Only true PE fans remember the Nether Reactor...
VultureArmy ah yes, and the stonecutter, lack of caves, limited worlds, cyan flowers and creepy faceless pigmen.... It felt like such a beta game back then.
_Nadiki_ Ikr Its incredible how much Minecraft PE has actually evolved. It's getting closer to Minecraft PC
Ah yes, the old Minecraft PE Edition. I started play soon after buckets and animal spawn eggs came, and the sand started actually getting affected by gravity. It really felt like an unfinished game. I did never get the nether reactor to work tho... Oh, and shift wasnt a thing either, and for some reason I really loved making tall buildings in survival, so when I wanted to build a balkony (idk how its spelled), I had to get one of the blocks, and yolo out to the corner and hope that I would not fall. Ah, the good ol days...
Ha-ha. I'm so old that I remember not only Nether core and this structure (it was cool that quartz and other stuff just dropped out), but even the time when tools didn't take any damage and when you couldn't contact with chests, workbenches and stonecutters in creative cause there was no creative.

another way to do it that i know very well and use all the time and is always consistent, the 3:6:1 ratio. how to build it is you have your 2 sticky pistons, like always, and then you make a 3x3 platform off to the side of them, you have a 3 tick repeater running into the first sticky piston ( the one in the back) and a 4 tick repeater with a 2 tick repeater running into the second sticky piston. The last row on the 3x3 is just regular redstone dust. flick the lever to active all the redstone and you have a double piston extender.

This is why us PE people always love when the tutorial people say it only works for java at the start of a video
Tutorials from java in 2012-2013,
Java players trying: *Doesn’t work*
Bedrock players trying: *Works fine*
Wait…
What’s even worse is when they don’t say and you build it... just to find that it doesn’t work.
Indeed.
I have both versions, but I started out recently in windows 10 edition. learned and experimented with a lot of redstone contraptions. Then I got java edition for my laptop running an older version of windows and I was trying to just do the simple act of making a piston work and I was like wtf?! LOL several things don't work in both versions, however there are builds and ways of doing the same task that will work in both versions using circuits like the quad repeater on/off switch that work in both editions.
it is nice that both java and bedrock editions are finally on the same build 1.16.2 versions now and being updated at the same time. Though I do find java edition to be significantly buggier and slower than windows 10 edition. And I'm sure it was not always that way to begin with, but it's definitely a smoother faster less buggy and more enjoyable experience in windows 10 edition. However java still gets features that windows 10 edition doesn't...like being able to make roads out of lava in the nether using blue ice and soul sand with a flying machine...that blue ice and soul sand converting lava functionality doesn't even exist in bedrock edition.
@@MeNotTadget that's illegal

The stonecutter wasn't always just for decoration. In the early days of Minecraft Pocket edition(I'm talking before they removed the Nether Reactor Core old, btw), it was used as a crafting table for stone blocks. In fact, the ONLY way to make stone slabs, bricks, staircases, etc., was on a stonecutter.
Please do more BEDROCK Redstone builds in the future!

So I got creative and tried making one.
AND I DID IT!
Was (I guess) 2 hours to make the smallest possible flying machine. It has 7 blocks. Easy.
Yeah, that pain.
The small 7 block flying machine is bad though. It is not really that good. It is not pushing a lot. So annoying. But I don't care.
"Very gradual, but it does function."
*You literally just described my entire computer.*
No, but seriously, it can barely handle any of my games.
I feel ya, man.
I can play Star Wars bf2 and Minecraft
I feel bad, I feel bad
Same bro
My pc is a literal potato
I felt that
I agree I play Minecraft pocket edition, and it's so difficult to use notebooks with Observer's because will not detect them when they get activated and it's just in pain, and also the new sckull sensors also detect any sounds even note blocks!! 😫
I thought I was dumb at redstone, turns out I've been following java tutorials on mcpe. Very smart of. Me
Thank you
I can’t build any of your builds so I just watch it
Someone finally understands my pain
Yeah I have To use my Tiny logical brain and copy and modify it
I build the elevator he did in MCPE
But it's quite different
Use repeater
No one knows MY pain....cuz even i dont know my pain lol
I only have half a brain cell left
I couldn’t do this if I tried
Redstone torches on mcpe are basically just decorations at this point
No
@@MrDonut-ch8dr Right, they are useable
They only work machinery wise for a 3 x 2 door with pressure plates at this point
They still light TNT
@@skyedreemurr-patiencesoul6171 indeed. They arent for much any more
4:12 put the repeaters one block apart. The first one is at the first piston, the second one is whet the second will be. The first repeater needs to be at 3 ticks and the second at one
5:50 never seen mumbo so happy for a piston extender. 😂
9:04 It's weird to see him not use wool in this
Concrete?
it's because he doesn't have codecrafted, so he uses the next best thing
could you do another redstone series on mcpe
Derpy_Horse4 He hasn't got his amazing texture pack.
Lol ikr
Me: how to make a creeper farm
Me after 1 hour of building it: why the hell it didnt worked?!
Me after 10 mins of brainstorming: oh, i forget the 'bedrock'
Oh God why so relatable tho xD
Relatable, but instead of "bedrock" put "java"
@@X-Ternal what do you mean? Without the magic word 'bedrock' while searching for a tutorial, recommended tutorials will only work on java
@@gulliblegerman I found out about this the hard way
Lol so true i spent 5 hours making a mega iron golem farm then it did not work my me👿👿👿👿👿
Wait til he finds out you can light a campfire with a fire aspect book 😂😉
Love your vids mumbo plz do more bedrock video
One Trick I learned for the piston doors that is a pretty good first step is to have the piston that feeds the block into double piston extender stay on until closed because it only needs to work once when on and retract at the right time when off
