    In this video, I attempt to build an electric guitar out of resin. I have been using a lot of resin in my builds so far so I figured why not go all in and do one completely out of resin. I also build my first neck start to finish in this video.
    The song I play in the demo at the end is Kazuki Isogai's arrangement of Just the two of us. The riff after that is something I made up.

    This one is dense. It rocks. A lot is covered in a short period of time. Well-edited.

    I've been watching your builds for almost 2 years now, and I think the reason I'm more fascinated watching your builds than the others, is mainly because you're neither a Luthier nor a full-fledged professional guitar player, so there's this level of "I don't how to do it, but Im gonna try" approach that I appreciate from you than any other guitar builder, you're not concerned with tonewood, nor you care about the type of pickups your gonna put in, you're also not concern with features a guitar should have, it's just fully a "build a cool looking guitar".

      @@gryzew Actually, this one is a pretty normal weight. Normal electric guitars weight somewhere between 6 and 12 pounds. (So yeah it's still on the heavier side, but I doubt no one has played on stage with a 12 pound guitar.

    • @gryzew
      @gryzew Před 5 lety +5

      @@nachostv4217 no it's not "pretty normal" man. As I said modern full thickness, non weight relief Les Pauls are lighter, usually they don't reach 10lbs (same for vintage 50s/60s ones for that matter) and that to me is a cut off for "chunky but normal". 70s and sometimes 80s Les Paul that had multi-piece pancake bodies are mythically heavy, and even though there are some legendary backbreaking ones that went into 13-15lbs overkill, usually they actually weigh like 10,8lbs. I have a vintage Fender Bass that's almost exactly 12lbs and that thing makes your thigh go numb if you play sitting down for a while, playing this standing up with a strap makes you walk around on stage like Darth Vader, stiff heavy steps. Sure there are some tough guys that run around showing off with a supposedly backbreaking 70s Lester, but this is a weight that you can't forget is there for the whole time you have it on. Good luck playing 2-3 hours shows with an axe that heavy on a regular basis. I seriously consider playing guitars in that weight range as detrimental to long term health, read: if you think it's fine cause your back and knees are good, you might be in for a bad back or bad knees in the long term.

      @@nachostv4217 and then people wonder how come somebody can actually drive their car into a lake when Google Maps is telling them to. I just told you from personal experience how having a 12lbs axe feels like (I've also got quite a few people try out my 12lb bass and 100% of reactions were "oof, how can you play a whole gig with this"), and from knowledge of gear with known examples that they just don't make such heavy axes with modern manufacturing consistency. Also this is why acrylic bodied guitars never caught on.

    next time you use colors, maybe you could pull up a color wheel and use analogous colors (colors right next to each other on the wheel). although red purple and blue would technically be next to each other in rainbow order, a standard color wheel has inbetween colors like blue violet, red violet, etc. i think by using those it would have a more satisfying color combination. sweet looking guitar tho!! :)

      Mine, too. It's really where guitars distinguish themselves. The geometry can't really change much, and the shape is a WAY secondary thing. The feel of the neck in you hand is the MAIN reason anyone bonds with a guitar, once you have the strings/action at a reasonable level of goodness.
