MAybe you could tell us what are ST.Emil's downsides more precisely ? Especially when compared to other paper TDs.
Yes, St. Emil is Kaku. Was very painful to get thru, but did have a few "good" games with it....but just a few.
I can say with full confidence I hated this tank more than any other I have played in the game. I made an effort to get ace wanker and then sell it, never to ever buy it again.

I stopped playing WOT 4 or 5 years ago, and recently youtube decided to show me your channel! Man, your content is gold, love every minute. A small part of me even wants to resintall the game, but I can't do that to myself eheheh Cheers, keep it coming
I did the same thing, I started playing in December 2011 and stopped in early 2015 and I thought it was the shittiest game ever made. After that I think I only played like 20-30 battles in 2017 and 2018 and after that I gave it a chance in December 2020. I kinda got back into it, not as hard as I used to and I basically just play with what I like, and I ignore the chat and other players and it's a kinda satisfying game to play from time to time
@@danielfraiz74 I've literally done the exact same, used to play all the time and now just play incredibly casually. Not a bad or frustrating game unless you really want to meet goals, but then again it's just a game and if you're playing for fun it's all fine either way
Stopped playing from Beta about 2 years ago. Still watch my daily dose of Skil, he reminds the game could be so much better than what it is

I am at 75-76% on many tanks but that’s as good as it gets for me

I love this tank; I still play it regularly to warm up, since usually the battle doesn't pivot on this tank. Very little pressure. Up the camo and be patient. Then find a good spot a ways back to park, hide, use depression -- then sit and fire at the speedsters or heavies. This thing swats like Rocky Balboa. Just don't figure you will fly around the field, and accept you can't brawl w/o armor. But you are dependent on the team -- to spot, flank and protect. This TD has a specific role. But if relaxed, patient, warmup is a style you enjoy, I have found this tank is good for that.

St. Emil is one of my favorite tanks. The first tank I marked I think. Fits my play stile. It has to be said, I tend to like strange tanks. Großtraktor is another one of my favorites and TOG
I swear this tank hasn’t even heard of camouflage, the amount of time I get spotted just sitting in the bushes is outrageous!
It's even taller than a Ferdinand with 0 armor, the moment you are spotted you are annihilated from miles. It doesn't make any sense because it should be a turreted td, like the Krupp WT but the gaming experience is absolutely crap.
I like the Sturer Emil, even kept it for a while after researching the Borsig.
It was difficult getting used to the Borsig's -5 gun depression after the Sturer Emil's -15.
I rebought the Sturer Emil some time back, and am training another crew for it.
I really like these videos talking about your experiences with the tanks. The only thing that would improve it is talking about which equipment you used and why for 15-20 seconds. I think it would be beneficial for future players grinding this tank. Thanks for all of your great content

I remember when my dad grinded this line how we went from a OK experience with the nashorn to the most painful grind with the st emil. Sometimes this game puts a trolltank in between 2 good tanks to make you spend money for free experience and just skip

I actually liked the whole line from St. Emil upwards. And top of the crown - Grille is one of my my favorite tanks. Playing a lot with Scorpion G as well and I have to say it suits my playing style very well.
The Emil is basically what the Jpz. E100 ended up being at tier 10, a slow gun platform that can barely rely on armor; talk about powercreep. I think it at least has an advantage getting some concealment.
I am very well aware that are some high dmg replays with these tanks, but it is so situational that ends not rewarding at all the amount of the time employed with the vehicle, unless you like being a sitting duck most of the time.
I watch your videos every morning before I get out of bed (#retired) and sometimes I don't feel like playing WOT but after your videos I feel inspired to get into a battle. Thanks for all your efforts to share with us your experience, gameplay and honest reviews to CZcams... taking off my kneepads now ;)

I actually liked the St. Emil a lot. The german TDs were my first line when getting started and, as a noob, it was great doing your HP in a single shot (pre rebalance). Additionally, the good pen made it far easier to do damage, even without knowing where to aim. But I didn't play it on this level, of course.
It was a stepping stone to the Borsig - which I like. It's also slow, but hits well & has good camo.
This man has now multiple days in a row made a video about a tank I was trying to find a video about the day before.
St. Emil was so much RNG, you had the matches of your life or the worst nightmare
I loved this tank so much when I was grinding the wafflecock, the depression fits well with my playstyle. I even got the Fadin medal in it 😂

It's certainly an underrated TD. It has a very specific job and it has to fit that role. Funny enough, I get a surprising amount of bounces from tier 6 and 7 tanks in it.

I actually really enjoyed this tank. It has a humoungous alpha damage for its tier, and depresion is amazing. I uses binocs, camo net and rammer
This grind was tough. When I did it there were no Turbo charger. Used rammer, Camo net and binos. My biggest problem with the tank was the low mobility. Made it very hard to reposition.
I remember starting this tank stock with a 75% crew and it took forever to get anywhere with it. Slow as fuck a huge bullet magnet and hard to do any real damage when you finally get there. Once the crew was slightly trained and I got the gun upgrade it was like a brand new tank, still slow, but a lethal bushwanker, with the gun depression you can hit tanks from strange places they won't be used to. I wouldn't say it was a lot of fun even then but it was at least playable.

Yes skill I have played with st. emil and it was quite painful experience, if it would not have lead to the mighty rhm b wt i wouldnt even consider playing this tank.. except the gun and gun deppresion the tank simply has nothing to offer.
-no armor
-no turret
-no speed
-arta and every HE can penetrate you if get hit except to the gun and tracks
-i almost forgot to mention the 15 ammo capacity
St Emil, ty for making me hate the game, ha ha yes that’s precisely how I felt using that German TD, nearly quit, well I was also doing the British TD at the same time, not a good combination at t7

I love it. If you know how to use it in each situation it's a beast. I have had many amazing games in this (with the big gun). I think a lot of gamers hate it because they love speeding around everywhere, brawling and blind firing a hundred rounds at random bushes.
I grinded the St.Emil a few years ago, I hated it at first as the stock gun is truly horrific, but after getting the top gun the games got easier and you can start to enjoy the tank. In fact I think my highest kill game was 9 kills in a battle and it was in the St.Emil

personally i like this td, the high alpha is just satisfying, though playing it well takes some dedication. I have to admit it is a little hit or miss depending on the map, and isnt for everybody.

St Emil: you have the gun, and every other aspect of the tank working against the gun.
I loved my sturer emil. I guess i dind't take it that seriously. Got 1 mark of excellence over 80 battles, but it was definatley worth the massive giggle factor when enemies had segnificant emotional events after my shots.
Still haven’t got the top gun on the stunher emil but I enjoy playing the tank once a day. If I start grinding it out i’m in pain and the fun positions you can play with the gun depression become stale.
The amount of times I penetrated this tank with tier 5 and 6 arties in the past was absolutely insane. 850 HP pool, straight XP booster to be honest. It was a nightmare to play this tank because you could meet KV2 and T49 a few years ago. It's incredibly frustrating how this td is compared to the Nashorn or the Dicker Max. The lack of shells is just plain stupid, it should have at least 20-25 shells.
I got my first mark on this in record time (for me). I thought it was because I was getting good at it but now it turns out it was just because no one else plays more than 10 games. Play more than 10 games WG give you the first mark out of sympathy. I still play it sometimes. It's like banging your head against a wall. It feels really good when you stop.

Well this tank was the first one i get the 3 marks in, but not gonna lie the tanks isn't for everybody, i like it a lot just for the depression and alpha damage, actually i enjoyed it a lot more than the Rhm, great video skill :D
Great job with the St. Emil. I looked up the record for kills on WOT replays and it's 11. Maybe that can be your final challenge.
I'm surprised Skill struggled with this tank. I'm a filthy 47%er and I love this tank - I have massive games in it. Just don't bother with the blind shots and it's all good.
This was one of my first tier 7s, I was a noob (more), didn't have premium time and the XP it asked was A LOT for tier 7. The grind was seriously painful, I hated the tank; with the 12,8cm it was far better that stock, but still painful. Worst grind I could have ever experienced.
Waaaay back when this ageing baboon grind to get him Waffel, in a days when Waffel E100 dominated tier 10, I played through Stuner Emil, and I had no problems with it, appart poor pen on stock gun. When top gun came, it was bloody awesomnes! I can't remember anything particularly bad with this TD. I guess it's not ment for 2020/21 meta.

I've watched your struggle in to stream all these days and felt your pain. Its really a bad tank, but always you find a way to make every single tank work. That's what makes the deference between the King and the peasants or even "Babies" :P
I liked my sturer emil bought it back and 3 marked it and sold it. It would be great if they release sturer emil premium version with 25 or 30 shells. I just like how the gun fire sound is and that 490 smack on enemşes. In the end it is too slow for other open cabin TDs but i think its just forgotten since its a mid tier vehicle..

It has been way too long since I played this. I did grind the entire line. I do remember the limited ammo kind of a stress situation if you last the entire battle and it comes down to you at the end and you only have a couple of shots left. As you said you are rewarded on the next part of the tree. Edit: Playing this TD is like training with a rock tied to your back(limited ammo) when you take the rock off you can run and do so much more. Excited when you have 25 shots you feel like a god. 😃
I played this tank after Nashorn. And it was pain in the ass how slow it was and how slow was the gun firing. It took me few years to complete it. I think I used only first gun. Right now is tank sold and VIII is awaiting first battle.

I think I played through until I got the big gun on this tank and tested that for a few games. Tank was still horrible so I skipped the rest with blueprints. RHM is so much better it's crazy so good luck with the RNG for marking it to 100%.

Saint (lol) Emil is one of my favorite tanks - because I am masochist, maybe. Basically it is a stationary glass cannon: thin glass, capital CANNON. A cannon wich isn't reliable, by the way. On top of that, Wargaming decided to reduce its ammunition amount to 15, from 18 in the original tank. Why? Because Russia.
St. Emil is heavily dependent on a good team, since you're completely helpless on your own. But if, like Skill said, all stars align, and the next few neighbouring galaxies too, the St. Emil is glorious. And those moments are what I'm loving it for.
Ammo capacity and gun traverse range are the 2 big limiting factors for this TD. It has pretty good HE, but you cannot really afford bringing more than 1 HE shell. Bino and camo net are useless because of the traverse range is is narrow, you are turnning constantly. I got 3 marks on it with coated optics. It is useful in late game cleaning up. Use bush mechanics, outspot enemy, pull back, delete and repeat.
Another drawback is this gun has no gold round. Which can be a good thing because you don't need to think about how many gold rounds to bring.
My personal best result in this TD was in 2019 Feb 24th with 1223 base xp, 4063 damage and 7 kills in a victory. That was before low tier HP buff. When I got 3rd MoE, 95%, expectation was 1643 on NA server. I am sure it should be 100 or more higher now.

I grinded this tank from stock all the way through using 0 free exp as I didn't have any, the big gun is sooo much better, the tank itself isn't that bad to grind through.
Getting to 100% MOE though is torture! I'm surprised Twitch/youtube let you show it xD
Am I the only one who actually enjoy playing with this tank? I'm currently playing with Sturer Emil and just researched the Borsig. Coming from the Nashorn, the top gun takes more patience but it is very rewarding to hit with 490 alpha. I just think you need good bushwanking skills, take your time when aiming and you're golden with this tank.

I quite loved this Stuner Emils gun for hard smacking, but when I researched RHM.... oh well.......what can I say.....its simply like a tank from another galaxy.....
I have never had a game where the enemies all set out in the open like that first game.
Skill completes 150-200 even 400 battles with a tank and he is still fine while I quit after max 10 battles because of rng. You are one tough nut to crack skieeel
Hey Skiiiiiiil! I actually enjoyed the St. Emil. STOP. Listen to me my friend. I started playing in 2012 and so i was playing it by 2013 as one of my first lines. I had binocs, camo, and gun rammer - equipment was so much easier back then. I was a noob so i loved sitting in the back with this tank, behind a hill, just to pop up and quickly shoot n scooot back down. But you're right it takes punishment hard in return every time and there was a reason it just sat in my garage with no additional games for so long - sentimental value. I also wanted to keep grinding, never playing any of my elite tanks. - You keep grinding there skill!!
I recently got the Borsig and man I HATED the st. Emil. It seems all you can do in it is aim turn aim turn aim!!
And so slow ahhh. Such a relief in the borsig to be able to move and have a turret.
I'm playing st Emil those day and It is so hard to make it work. The mobility, the Shell velocity and the vertical travers of the gun are very pour. But I like play with particolar tanks

Mad respect watching you play it. I saw your stream to 85% so I bought the Nashorn and Emil and hated it so much played like 10 games lost all but 1 and was like sold. Got the Borsig, same results but tormented how to play with such a sluggish tank
I played the St. Emil in the early days, because I wanted the Borsig. It was a bit easier back then, not so many M 44 arty , but still it was a masochist grind. It was painful, But I did it, there were no blueprints back then, so you had to grind it. without a premium account...
In my opinion the Borsing at tier VIII makes it worth the grind, especially now when you have blueprints to skip most of the grind.
I'm sorry, but the St Emil is really fun to play, it can be pretty effective too. I love that tank. The speed is what really gets me...
Skill, hearing about your painful experience with the St Emil, makes me feel a little better about my painful time grinding it. When I grinded this pile of crap was before equipment 2.0 it's doubtful it's much better, it was painfully slow your lucky to get into a good position & it's armor is laughable. You're so right skill about the top gun, once you have unlocked that then you have a worthy boomstick that was the only highlight of this pile of crap. 15 shells sux but I found that most battles I didn't run out because either to slow & my team had a run away win or I got stomped by Jeff's. City maps in this tank are going to give you nightmares & hope to return to the garage quickly. If you can keep the enemy at a good distance & you have the top gun you may get a few LOLs but don't count on it. I was very happy to sell it & never want to go back.
Hi men! I loved that alpha on tier 7 that really SHINee!!! Like SU 130Y in tier 6. But both are really toght to get well in.. How you sugest to equip RHM wich equipment you think are better in that one.

Just marked the St.Emil a few days ago, and i honestly had a better time than expected. Last few percentages went very smoothly.
Most annoying thing about this tank is that you are so f*ing slow, even though i used a Turbocharger (+ rammer + binos because of a shitty crew)!
I aced this thing after the first battle with de 128mm.And what is super duper hiper turbo gud is the 15 degrees of gun dipression 🙏

Very binary, some games can be great fun slapping hard like a tier7 fv4005, but equally in a fast moving roflstomp by your team you just can't keep up and get ru do little or nothing. Turbo is worthless really, 10% extra power on crap is so little extra and you'll still be slow. I found engine silencer best, as your narrow arc means you move quite a bit to adjust and helps keep you from being spotted, also helps relocate as base camo not great.
grinded this tank long ago, was scared at first, bc i already heard how bad the tank is, but it wasn't so awful tbh. i think it's because when you grind through this tank you need 4-5 pen shots to earn reasonable exp, and if you know the basics of how to camp, use bushes you won't be stuck in this tank too long. but when you play for marks in it, it is totaly different situation, and that's when this tank starts to cause mental pain & brain damage
I've kinda enjoyed it. I was playing like 2-4 games per day with Emil and usually at least in one I was top damage dealer. It's a slug, but it's better to die quickly with 0 dmg trying to take a strategic hill than sit at the back to shot 3 times. I have 1,7k average damage with Emil, which is kinda nice since at least 50% of the battles I died with 0 damage. Gun is amazing, gun depression is super comfortable, so it's not even half bad as T34-2, KV3 or Czech lvl 8 mediym
