- Night of Blues at Knuckleheads in KC Mo. June 28, 2013, featuring Joanne Shaw Taylor and out of the crowd comes Mike Zito and Samantha Fish. For England's own, Joanne Shaw Taylor, it was her 3rd time in KC in past 18 mths, all at Knuckleheads, playing on a different stage each time. Mike Zito & Ms Fish had played that night at the free Summer Concert Series in Olathe, KS. They stopped by to see the Blues Caravan Show and were invited up to join in the fun. It was a hot evening in Kansas City, Mo. and nobody wanted it to end!

I dream about being there when things like this go down. Awesome jam session
you know it really is quite ridiculous.....zito, fish, and joanne all sound great playing together......this is once in a lifetime.....and mike zito has been playing for quite awhile compared to the other two, but they all are simply great......For people to compare one to another to another is ridiculous, they are smiling as they play together........listening to the other play.........The comparisons are like comparing SRV to his brother Jimi Vaughn to Buddy Guy to other great guitarists, they all make music what it is.........And, musicians always play with other great musicians to just stay good and live......So, leave it at that......Some beautiful great music this is, so enjoy it for what it is - great music..............and go to a concert......
But none of them can play the harmonica like Little Walter !
FWIW JST has been playing since she was 8, started as a classical guitarist until she heard SVR.
I love Taylor, Zito, Fish.
I've never seen JST and Sam on the stage together... Terrific!
Sam seems to be such a cheerful soul.
She is just naturally centre stage with her band but clearly isn't phased at taking a back seat as she does here.
Knows just how to fit in and not to be a primadonna.
Great girl and wonderful player - goes for all of them equally.
Awesome Joanne Shaw Taylor!
JAM'S FANTASTIC ....ALL TALENTS SO GOOD THANKS FRIENDS OF BLUES. ... JACKY OLD BLUESFAN....FRENCHY.
Incredible trio ! I really love that set !!!!!😍😍😍😍
Three of my favourite blues artists jamming together - a dream comes true. But I think, JST overtops them all here. Her solo is a gem.
It was a surprise to all. Joanne's guitar didn't stand out earlier in show, not sure if it was sound man or her amp. Have you had a chance to see any of them play?
Paul S Yes, I saw JST two times (with her own band) und Samantha Fish (on tour with "Girls with Guitars") once on venues in Switzerland. Their gigs were great . I think, we are lucky to have such big talents today.
hcabelm Do you live in Switzerland? What other American blues groups have you seen? Ryan McGarvey? I highly recommend him. I think he's the best young guitarist in the USA.
Hey, and a shout out for that geezer on the sax, that was utterly wicked.
@@matthewwestwood9366 Jimmy Carpenter
these jams are sooooo cool love iiiittt
Awesome set by 3 very talented musicians. Each has their own style. And their three style compliment the others. Would have been awesome to be there to witness it in person. And the sax added in just makes it that much better! Thanks for sharing this.
Samantha is my no 1 I'm so over on her! But Joanne is also very high on my list who says girls can't play guitar well these two girls are outstanding!!
I agree. Fish is my fav but they are all outstanding. Different styles and tone. Joanne reminds me of David Gilmour
This is the best you will ever get FANTASTIC.......................
I agree, those unplanned jams can be really special.
Thanks so much for sharing this, Paul! Wish I was there, but this is the next best thing!
All I can say is there must have been some super strong ganja going around the crowd this night! I love this, thanks so much!
If you haven't yet, you should make a trip down to KC and check out some music at Knuckleheads.
Oh yeah, several times! I love it!!
When Sam Fish stated playing I was suddenly covered in goosebumps.
Ditto. She’s got blues in her veins
I get goosebumps every time I see her or hear her music on her CD's. Such a tremendous talent, takes my breath away. Just saw her in Orange Park, FL the other night. They had her in as warmup act for a Zydeco band. Should have been all Samantha for the entire night. I've seen her live five times. I love her!
I felt the same way, I love the way she starts out real slow.
@@mr.vinegaroon3132I'll be seeing Samantha for the 6th time on August 16th in Warrendale PA! Can't wait!
Hi there. Great line-up! Glad you were there! Tanks and Jeeps.
i shit my pants when i found this video.
Man he is good! All the right notes in the the right place ..... Simple but effective no need for special distorted miss match
You need a hearing aid for Zito and fish , , , , , ,then come on, or your brain has been miss wired , ,
High Priority First Class Stuff All The Way ----- Whoooooooooooa !!!
Joanne Shaw Taylor sure likes Mike Zito.. look at the smile when she's close to him at 12:17. Luck guy.. she's gorgeous !
great hits!!! And guys
That's Jimmy Carpenter on Sax, too .... Great Stage full of great people !
Ana and Samantha have also been on stage together at Blues From The Top. in Winter Park, Colorado ... Great Show !
andy shaffner Thanks for the info in Sax player.
Jimmy Carpenter is one cool cat....I've had the pleasure of meeting him several times over the years!
Joanne is really sweet lady met her at blues fest this year but she didn't have any cds
She can blow girl can sing
keep rocking guys
Wow, nice!
Samantha is god in a miniskirt! Nothing better than an American girl in a miniskirt! And one that plays guitar well is really smokin!
Mini dress bro ......get it right 🔥😲😜 haha
15 minute long song and it still is not long enough LOL
Joanne Shaw Taylor, - I apologise for comparing this blues virtuoso to anyone else, - but, I'm thinking a female Stevie Ray Vaughn. She is the best.
Luther Allison's "Bad News Is Coming" from 1972
I hate to say this on CZcams, but in my opinion, Samantha has better legs than Mike.
JOanne Shaw Taylor is so smooth,so beautiful, the best player playing a Les Paul on stage! I like when her and MZ trade licks, JST shows more confidence than SF , all are great players just at different levels in their career.... The blues live on!
This is old. Samantha was young here. Check her out now. Kick ass
@@cindyinnew Sorry ,not a fan of SF. Ally Venable and Joanne Shaw Taylor, and Ana Popovic are My top three!
Awesome, can't believe I've not seen this before now. Wonder who's guitar Sam is playing? Not one I've seen her play before and think it wasn't strong enough to keep up with her....haha.
I think Mike is playin' a guitar givin' to Stevie Ray Vaughan by Billy Gibbons. He didn't say anything about it did he? That's a big deal to me. Wow!
I noticed that too, that was one of Stevie"s prized guitars
I could be wrong but I doubt it was Stevies actual Hamiltone.......you can buy one yourself if you want.....Hamilton was building and selling them long after Stevie's death.
Have these two girls ever been on a jam with Ana Popovic? I want to see that but I don't want no polite little jam. I want to hear the sky burning and the bones breaking and the blood dripping from the guitar strings. I'd like to see them getting down.
CZcams has some vids of Sam and Ana playing together, one time on a ship cruise and another time a few years back in K. C.
I am sure I have seen a clip of all three of them together.
@@stephendavis6894 I wish I could find that video.
Samantha is just plain outclassed here. But that's OK, we've all been there, that's how you get better is playing with musicians that are better than you.
She’s kicking ass now
Isn't that a Hamiltone SRV he's playing?
It's a hamilton. But not an s.r.v. not made
And they say women can't play guitar.
+Sam Farris do they?? who said that?? let me at em!
Dont forget sue foley from canada , making some noise in austin.
Maybe, he was the man the inspired her to go with the brass.
Хватит уж слух музыкальный людям засорять ! Очень много нот - мимо!
samatha you wiil not see dis yust one fayvor yuse zour power be kindo like y0u are a now dath
Blurry intro but I didn recogniske Samantha.
Dang , there's no way to delete.
Wat? Samantha fish O.o
Joanne just blows Mike and certainly Sam to the floor, , , she is such a good guitarist singer, class N* 1 , , , Sam does a very poor mediocre solo shot at the gig and Mike hogs the scene without mastery, , during the duel with Joanne he takes the fame by plaing some riffs that Joanne has to double and he just lets out a series of notes that would be almost impossible for anyone to react and copy, , riffs that Joanne plays much better by the way when not in that situation, , , , Joanne, you are one of the best guitarists alive today, , , listening and watching your class, , , , is an awesome pleasure, , , thank you , , ,
first of all....no one has to duplicate the playing of another guitarist and no one is hogging the show, they all are playing blues together and playing it well......And smiling as the other is playing, they are enjoying it......So, try and enjoy the song......Mike is not a "master" but plays a "series of notes that would be almost impossible for anyone to react and copy"....No I think JST knows she has to play her own followup not a copy of Zito....something that adds to Zito's initial playing..... .Silly......No, musicians play together for a reason, to learn from other musicians, and to enjoy and keep themselves fresh........so they can play anything live.......Did you see SRV ever not play the blues with anyone....No, SRV played with everyone and gave credit where credit was due, to Albert King, Buddy Guy, Jimi Vaughn, and to every other great guitarist out there.......Of which Mike Zito is recognized by his peers as being, a great guitarist and singer.......And Mike Zito doesn't play or sing lullabies.......Try playing a series of notes that would be impossible to duplicate or singing at Zito's level....Easy for others to criticize but ridiculous ....comparing the 3............Musicians play together to grow........and learn....simple....really.....Really......
They all play well, so enjoy the show - just like you would a sunset or would you say "I remember the last sunset, man it was better...." NO, silly....
You're right John. They are all historic.
If this is the ONLY time someone hears her, shame on them. They will want to hear more and will. Joanne's play makes the case for her - very well.
I am probably more of a guitar player than you, , , it's an obvious fact what I stated, , so if you can't understand it it because your level of comprehension is much too low, , ,
Jo b wouldn't want him on his 2016 tour because he's far too good!
I'd get worn out just playing rhythm......nah, just kidding.
We all now that Hot girl Sammie Fish We do miss that girl before she became the girl
