Wow! I’m so impressed! Bread is intimidating to me but I think i will try it!!
I watched the replay of your live cooking chili and wow! It looks so good! Making a grocery list now 😊
Brittney Elliott Thanks, Brittney! I can’t wait to hear how they both turn out for you! ❤️

@@johnnybloggs2494 Thank you!
Try it! I'm new to making bread and I just used my brand new foodi for the first time tonight, following her video here, and my hubby and I loved it, but didn't ride quite as much, and it was a little bit chewy, but it wasn't heavy. I chalk it up to I think I used too much oil in the pan,, still, I will use my foodi for bread as much as possible from now on. Like any new skill, there is a learning curve that requires practice. But this foodi and watching Louise while I worked on it, made it so much fun. It took all the fear right out of me.
I made the bread today and it was my first time making bread EVER! Thank you for the recipe and for making it easier than I ever imagined to make bread.
You have the heart of an angel. I felt it as soon as I first watched your first video. God bless you, sweet angel😘
Jo Dunlap oh my gosh, you are so sweet! I saw your comment when I stopped for gas and I literally have tears streaming down my face. Thank you, my friend, your words mean the world to me. I never imagined I’d be reading comments like yours on a cooking video. You are a special person to take the time to make such heartfelt comments, they truly inspire me. 😘😘😘
Thanks so much for these videos! You're informative, explain things simply, and are making me a much better overall cook! I just bought my Ninja Foodi and I'm super excited to try all your recipes!!
Wonderful! Congrats on the Foodi!
LOVE your reaction when you "sample" your homemade delectables!! For some people, this is so relatable. I'm not saying who.
Thank you!
My ninja doesn’t have to dehydrate feature, but I used the warming feature. I turned it to warm for 2 minutes and turned it off. Then i used a pot lid to cover the bowl. Did the same for the second rise. Very comparable time and delicious bread in 90 minutes. Thanks for these great videos.
Great tip!
Cajun Milk Cows I take it that you covered yours with a damp cloth too? My ninja doesn’t have the dehydrate feature either. Thank you.
Bought our 21 yr old son with Aspergers a Ninja Foodi for Christmas and teaching him to cook. This recipe was a winner and so easy to follow. Thank You❤️👍
That makes me so happy!
I love making bread, I had to chuckle when you said it is therapeutic to knead, that's exactly how I feel!! 😂
Just received my Ninja Foodie today, can't wait to start using it!!
Congrats on the Foodi, you will love it!
I just made mine, and OH MY GOODNESS !!!!! It's soooooo good !!!! I'm not a baker AT ALL ! and have a hard time following instructions...but you my dear make it easy for people like me !!! Thank you !
Glad you liked it!!
Thank you so much for sharing your bread making recipe and how to bake a loaf of bread in the Ninja Foodi. Saturday, my husband bought me the OP305 model of the Foodi and I can't wait to start to use it! Now I am beginning to look for recipes and how-to CZcams videos for this amazing machine! I had four women (three in the store and my hairdresser) tell me that they absolutely love this machine or another brand of an Air Fryer. I have been wanting to make homemade bread and now I have no excuse! We ordered a loaf pan from the company so I make a loaf but I will try the round loaf until I receive my new accessories. So much faster to proof and bake bread! Thank you again and I want to say that your detailed explanation and thorough video is amazing!

I absolutely love your videos. I could watch them all day long.
Oh my! Great job! I love your tutorials! BREAD 🍞😍 The smell is what I love the most! Lol
I like pushing my Ninja Foodi to the max-experimenting with different things, this will be on the list! I bake sourdough bread the old fashioned way-in my PC stoneware bowl-in the oven, but I’ll have to try it in my NF now! I have bread makers that I love to use as well! I’ve been trying low carb or keto friendly bread lately, but nothing beats hand kneaded, freshly baked bread!!! OMG!!! 🥰
SonShine Shon would you be willing to share how to start a sour dough start? I've tried a few and they were Epic fails.
I love making bread, but sourdough has given me trouble. I'm going to revist that one!
Thank you again for all your videos and helpful information.
I watched your bread recipe a few times before I said, I can do this!
On my second try I made bread in my Ninja Foodi,😀🙌🏻, the first didn’t rise, could’ve been many reasons why! The second try came out very nice, now to adjust the seasonings !
My first time making homemade bread!
Thank you again!
I'm so glad you gave it another try and had a good outcome!
You really have the personality for this kind of stuff. Really laid back, easy-going and down-to-earth. Good job :) .
Thank you so much!
Louise, you've inspired me. I'm home on a snow day and I have just put my dough in for the first rise. Wish me luck!
That's great! I hope you love the bread!
The Salted Pepper omg, what’s not to love!?
really helpful, clear cut instructions- our loaf came out so well. My four boys couldn't stop going back for more! A tasty, crusty and artisan looking loaf with a soft inside. Very impressive for a first try-thank you!
Thank you for this video. You are so easy to follow. You have given me encouragement. I'm going to try this today... I'm going to search to see if you have done cinnamon rolls. I love your videos....

Yummie 🍞💞 Thank you! I love my Ninja Foodi
You are most welcome! I love my Ninja Foodi too! 😍
I just made a loaf in the FD 402 8qt. My loaf was browner & raised 3 inches in the center. Might bake 320 next time for 10 mins then back up to 325 for last 20 mins. My flour sack towel actually stuck to the loaf and I need to dampen it more. Easy recipe and will do again. This method is perfect for a cold winter day up north. tx SP!
Thank you! I would make sure the top of the bread is oiled, too. That will help with sticking.
I just received a Ninja Foodi from a dear friend. I came upon your site, and I fell in love. You are so pleasant to watch as you cook the meals. You explain every recipe that you do, and I will be making many of them. Your my go to Ninja gal !!
Thank you so much!

thank you for sharing this how to. First time making leavened bread or working with yeast with this recipe. I made a lil oopsie on the wet towel getting stuck on a few edges while proofing. I think I'll have to make sure the oil is completely covered next time. Tasted great overall though. :D

Ninja should pay you for showing us things this unit can do that they never showed us not even in their cookbook
Thank you! I like pushing the Foodi to it's limit and I try all kinds of crazy stuff, it has never let me down once!
Yes I like that.
Push it to the limit!!!!
Ariana D Yes, I’m a foodie and bread baker. I made burger buns in my air fryer, so the Ninja will work.
You're right.... I would buy this lady's cookbook if she had one. I just got the ninja and I'm totally excited about discovering new recipes that I can make in it. She is very natural on camera and explains everything thoroughly. Love her!!
...sandwich bread recipe, tedious and cake like
I tried this bread the other night. It was so easy and fast to make and had great texture and taste. The only problem was that the loaf was small and didn't last the night with my family of 5. *laughs*
YOUR THE BOMB!!!! I love baking bread and just got my ninja foodi....cant wait to try this at home. Am a subscriber too
Thanks! I hope you enjoy the bread!
@@TheSaltedPepper I will, now here's a question. Like you I LOVE bread right out of the oven with salted butter! Will you do other types of breads? I like rye bread. Also after the second rising take the dough and make in into a pretzel shape...place it in a pot of boiling water that has 1/2 cup of baking soda. cook 1 min on each side THEN bake it....nice chewy hot pretzels right out of the foodi. Its the baking soda that give the white bread the pretzel taste. I sprinkle poppy seeds on the dough before backing. That would be a great video. Keep up the good work
Wonderful instruction, you’re so informative. I wonder if this bread recipe can be used with low carb flour? Have you ever tried it?
Deborah Branson I haven’t, sorry. All my attempts to make low carb bread have been horrible. If you try it, I’d love to know how it turns out.
Wow très bonne recette .... je suis vraiment impressionné, merci le pain est Délicieux !!! La recette très simple et le vidéo avec les explications sont très bien expliqué.. j adore merci infiniment... je ferai cette recettes très très souvent 🤩
Your recipes are so awesome thank you so much for sharing these videos since I am still learning how to use my foodi. I was really excited about making bread since I am Italian lol but, then I got really sad when you said proof it on dehydrater setting because mine doesn't have that feature 😢 my brother got it for me for Christmas and didn't realize it didn't have that and sad part is I didn't either until after I had put my food in it already because I couldn't wait to use it. Another thing about being Italian, I have no patience. It looks beautiful though and I'm sure your house smelled ah-mazing. That's my favorite part 😍 xx
Giamarie Saponaro Thank you! You can proof the bread without the dehydrator setting. Turn the NF on bake at the lowest setting (250F) for 5 minutes. Open lid for 5-10 minutes to release some heat. Put dough in and close lid, keep NF off. The residual heat will proof the bread.
@@TheSaltedPepper yay!! Thank you so much for letting me know that!! I'm going to make Philly cheese steak egg rolls for dinner tonight! I'm so excited 😋😍
Giamarie Saponaro I can’t wait to hear how they turn out!
Hi Louise, since I've tried and loved your regular bread recipe I was hoping you might have a recipe for whole wheat flour bread in the foodi? Could I just substitute whole wheat flour into this recipe? Something tells me that I'm not going to just be able to do that. Any suggestions or recipes? Thanks
Love my Ninja Foodi - this is awesome
I'm so glad you are loving the Foodi!
You're so darn cute lovin' on that bread!!! Can't wait to try this recipe. Thank you!
I was and still am excited about the prospect of this bread …. but my first try had insufficient yeast. I wasn't sure about what I was seeing when I proofed it, just a few dozen tiny bubbles on top...I think I should of trusted my gut and threw out that yeast! Oh well, I will go get fresh yeast and try again. Thank you Louise for all your inspiration though! I can't wait to try again. :)
I hope your next bread is perfect!
I tried this as well but with gluten- free flower. I had some rise but mostly a large brick. Also did not proof because I used instant. Will keep trying until I get it right! Thanks
I see your videos from Spain, I love it!!!
Thanks so much!
Just came across your channel for bread, I have subbed, you seem like such a genuine, nice happy person 👏

Thanks so much! Welcome to the groups, you should have been approved by now if you answered the questions!
Can't you just tell when some knows what they are doing. Thank you very much. Peace be unto you.
My kitchen nightmare story:
I was using the breadman to make basic bread and it became unplugged. Think it was in the 1st knead, had to keep adding flour, sticky. Who knows. Kept kneading and adding flour. This breadman is over 20 yrs old. Bread is my nemesis, anyways I wasn't going to throw it out and start over. I followed you're rise direction for 30 min and saved it. As for the taste don't know. Ninja and you for the WIN.
made this this afternoon. How wonderful! Thanks so much for all you do!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Wow so glad to have found the salted pepper, I've just got a ninja and I'm loving it now I have something to cook, where can I buy some of your tools, I'd love the sandwich spreader, Thank you, the video's are amazing x

Merci beaucoup, bisous de France.😋
Love ur videos!
Thank you so much!
I must have an older model foodi. Mine doesn't have the dehydrate option. I wonder if the keep warm function might work? I'll have to check and see. I'd love to make this bread!
thank you!
You're welcome!
Fresh warm bread. . . Aaaah!!
Nothing better!
Hi Louise. Just made your bread. Wow. Fun to make, delicious to eat.
Some notes for everyone if making it the Ninja Foodi Smart-Lid model OL-701.
Change the bake time to 20 minutes, down from thirty. This machine has greater wattage hence quicker baking (it would seem).
Also I did not cover the bread during either of the proofing steps. No problem.
A terrific recipe. Keep in mind it does differ from the Ninja Kitchen recipe for this model. Nevertheless, it came out absolutely perfect. Thanks for an excellent video, as usual.
I'm glad you tried it using the new model. If you used the proof setting that is why you didn't need to cover it, there isn't a fan running to dry it out. It's a very nice feature. Did you use steam/bake or just plain bake?
@@TheSaltedPepper HI Thanks for your reply. It didn't occur to me that the proof function had no fan running. Very interesting appliance to say the least. I used just bake but next time I'll try the bake and steam. The Ninja Kitchen recipe uses, I believe, Steam&Crisp. I used your recipe but my stand mixer for the opening attack :)
Seems one could use bake, steam&bake or steam&Crisp thus producing slightly different textures to the bake. Really rather amazing if you think about it. Thanks again for your efforts and time. Best Regards
Ha Ha...There is no way to stay ‘low carb’ while baking bread!!! The aroma alone is a killer of the diet!!! Loved the video, I’m going to try sourdough now, thanks for the pointers!
Isn't that the truth! Let me know how your sourdough turns out. That is my favorite, but I'm horrible at making it! LOL
The Salted Pepper ...It turned out great! I love sourdough but it is finicky and each loaf seems to turn out a little different in texture and flavor even when I weigh the ingredients. I love a yeast bread too and it does have a more reliable outcome. Your videos are great, I hadn’t even thought about making bread in my foodie until I saw your video! Thank you 😊
I've read you can use the yogurt setting, too. My foodi has both the dehydration and yogurt setting.
I haven't tried that, but I have heard you can use it.
Excellent.
Thank you!
1 minute in and I'm subscribed 🤘
Thank you so much!
Hi, I am new to watching your cooking with the Ninja Foodi, we just bought one about a Month ago. Although I loved watching you make and bake bread in the NF, it would be nice to see you thaw and bake frozen loaves that you can buy from the store. Not everyone has the time to make bread and it would be very useful to see how it is done, thank you!
I think it would be pretty easy to thaw and bake store-bought dough. Just decrease the package temp instructions by 50 degrees and keep an eye on it because it might not take as long.
@@TheSaltedPepper Thank You for your imput, I will try that and see what happens, love watching all your takes.
Fantastic........🤗
Barbie Bright Thanks!
I don’t have the dehydrate function on my foodi, so would I be able to use the bake function instead to proof the bread?
Great video!
Thank you!
'
I make my own bread often but never thought of using the Foodi. I noticed it was a little pale in color, can you use the crisping button to brown it a little? Have you tried that? Thanks for all your wonderful videos.
Of course! I didn’t want to develop the crust too much because I’m using it as sandwich bread. If you want a crispier crust, I would use the basket. Line it with parchment and put your loaf round on it for the second rise. After the second rise, remove the basket. Then, preheat the Foodi to 400 F on bake for 10 minutes. Throw in two or three ice cubes. Quickly place the basket and close the lid. Keep it at 400 for 5 minutes, then decrease the temp and finish cooking to your liking. That will provide steam to really crunch up that bread! You can also add an egg wash during the last few minutes to brown in more. Pictures please when you make it! 😍
@@TheSaltedPepper Wow, great idea. Thank you so much
@@lylaschmooz You are welcome!
Thank you very much
If I'm going to cheat on my low carb diet, it will be for something like this!! Or that deep dish pizza I'm watching next! LOL!! Thanks for sharing.
Oh... if you cheat, make it the pizza! LOL
@@TheSaltedPepper Oh it will be the pizza, it looked amazing! I completely forgot about using ricotta on pizza (use to use in dollops). But Omg you look like you've lost so much weight??! We need a great low carb pizza crust...
Cindy P I have gained weight! 🤣
Hi Louise! First, thanks so much for this wonderful channel! Just got my Foodi last week. I have a question for this particular recipe though. My version of the 6.5 quart doesn’t have the Dehydrate mode. Do you think I could put it on “keep warm” for a few minutes and then just turn it off for the remainder? Thank you!
Thanks so much! I have the directions for proofing the bread without the dehydration function in the written recipe post: thesaltedpepper.com/easy-homemade-bread-in-the-ninja-foodi/
I can't wait to try this bread, but I have a question. Do I have to adjust the yeast any for high altitude baking? I live at about 6000ft above sea level and I've had a lot of problems with bread. It over rises, falls and then becomes really dense. I appreciate any help.
I have never lived at a high elevation, but I skimmed through this article and the tips seem very sound. I hope this helps, keep me posted! www.wheatmontana.com/content/high-altitude-baking-how-make-your-recipes-work-mountains
UUUHHHGG you're killing me! Looks so delicious, but being on KETO I can''t have any. Since you are so very talented... How about making a low carb version. PLEASE!!!!
Oh, how I wish! I have tried and tried to make a good loaf of bread without using flour and all attempts have been subpar. I love eating low carb and really need to get back into it full steam, so maybe I venture down that road again and try to make a good bread! Thanks for the inspiration!
How can you make the bread have a more golden crisp top in the foodi? Higher temp, longer cook time?
At the end, increase the heat and it should brown much more. I kept it pale because I used it for sandwiches and wanted a softer crust.
Very helpful video 🎉🥳 thanks 👍
Best bread ever
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Your suggestion to use Steam and Bake instead of Steam and Crisp makes all the difference. I also nested a 7-1/4" cake pan inside the black basket, lined with parchment misted with oil, then put 1/2 of the dough to proof, the rest in the refrigerator overnight. Nesting with a cake pan provides structure for the bread to rise up, but not out. I added 2 C of water to keep the steam from running out before baking is over. Finally, dough left in the refrigerator overnight, proofed twice then baked, has a much better flavor and texture.
Explaining how active dry yeast and instant dry yeast differ right out of the gate. I'm not a baker. I didn't know. Thank you.
