    Just to clarify, ONLY increase the front sprocket to gain more speed. If you need more torque (offroad with knobby tires, hill climbing, heavy loads), then decrease the teeth on the front sprocket. The stock size is the happy medium.

    • @anythinggarage
      @anythinggarage  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Yes exactly! Everything you said.
      And vice versa for the rear sprocket. The bigger you go on the rear the lower the top speed. If you go for a smaller rear gear, the higher the speed.
      It's easier doing the front sprocket as well.

    cant wait to see how much HP you pick up with some easy mods like maybe modding the intake restrictor plate, maybe a K&N air filter if they make one for this bike and an exhaust system. Looking forward to more videos homie

    Chain and plug are ok, however look how far your wheel went back on the swingarm. When I exchange external drive gears this way, I always keep the original chain length and specifications by using a -1 front and +1 rear or a +1 front and -1 in back. This way you just put the chain back on and it fits back to the original location, not shorter or longer...

    • @anythinggarage
      @anythinggarage  Před měsícem +1

      The reason it is far back is because I'm using a 108 link chain instead of the stock 106 link number.
      You can usually only use stock link number or only 2 more up. I still have good adjustability left. Only got the 108 because I went with a bigger front sprocket. 106 should be fine.
      Either way, make sure everything sits good whatever way you do it

    • @umaxen0048

      I'm looking to buy the same bike and know the rpm will be higher than what I like. I don't race around or carry passengers and live in Florida where there are no hills or mountains. I also like getting better mileage and a less jerky ride, so I go +1 front and -1 rear. I had the original formula on how to crudely calculate how the rpm would change, relatively simple, I forgot the formula! Does the bike feel ok? I'm always worried about Chinese motorcycles, however Lifan has been used in actual Honda bikes all over the world...

    • @anythinggarage
      @anythinggarage  Před měsícem

      @umaxen0048 it's a really good bike. Feels of good quality. Nothing like the grom clone vaders or the likes.
      It gets up and goes, even with a passenger I ride fine, for what it is.
      With this front sprocket, I feel like it is at a good spot. I can't redline it in 5th but still managed a 68mph top speed with a KO Lightning exhaust at full squat 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • @sealsamster
    @sealsamster Před 9 měsíci +1

    So the new spark plug brings rpm lower?

    • @anythinggarage
      @anythinggarage  Před 8 měsíci +3

      No, the new 16 tooth sprocket changes the gearing therefor making the rpms lower and gears longer.

    Tire is all the way back. Should have pushed it forward and removed another link. When the chain screeches you will be out of adjustment.

    • @anythinggarage
      @anythinggarage  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Hey, thanks for that! Doesn't look like it, but it does have a ways to go! Gold chains usually dont stretch nearly as much as non gold, though, so hopefully, it's good for a some thousands of miles.
      I got 108 because the bigger front sprocket.
      If you're gonna cut the chain shorter, make sure to remove 2 links. You can not just cut one link off as you will have one "outer" and "inner" link, which won't work with the "outer" master link.
      Thanks for watching!

    • @codyfoster635
      @codyfoster635 Před 3 měsíci +3

      Also moving the chain tensioner forward and removing a link would have been the move, cause now you have no room to adjust when it stretches..

    • @codyfoster635
      @codyfoster635 Před 3 měsíci +2

      Been messing with my gearing recently and went back to a 15 in the front and up to a 39 in the rear. Tops out at the same speed just a lot faster and revs higher. 5th gear doesn't feel useless lol.

      Good to know. And I thought I did it the easy way! 😅

    • @anythinggarage
      @anythinggarage  Před 3 měsíci

      @codyfoster635 I would have to remove 2 links. Chains can only run even numbers cause only one can link to the other. There is plenty of room for tightening, though!

    • @anythinggarage
      @anythinggarage  Před 3 měsíci

      @codyfoster635 Woah that's like going down to a 14 on the front isn't it? That's too low for my personal use and revs too high for my taste. To each their own ☺️
