The thing with a lot of these OP characters or weapons or races is that they tend to appear only once. Usually in the work of 1 author. Star Trek had this a lot, where tech and weapons that were OP and quite useful to have in individual episodes never appeared again, even when they could have been of immense use, like during the Dominion War. So unless something appears again in the work of another author, or in a codex, I'll treat these like just one step above fan fiction.

Undivided and unaligned daemons are so interesting and it's ludicrous that they're so barely touched upon in the setting.
My guess is that they introduced absolutly mental stuff in the Horus Heresy, but they won't bring it back because it could destroy the setting... x/
Plus, 40k isn't restricted to Big E. and the Primarchs. Aside for humanity, they aren't that pivotal in the setting.

I think I remember reading somewhere that the emperor didn’t originally intend to make space marines, he wanted to make the primarchs and have them lead mortal armies. What if he didn’t make the space marines but still found the primarchs in roughly the same timeframe?
It's hilarious to me how often powerful forces in sci-fi will build a "wall" around a star system.
Like a literal wall. A ring. And then the faction who wants to get around this wall never thinks to approach the star system from the north or south poles lmao.
I'm pretty sure the walls are all round and within the warp
A bit like how Captain Kirk defeats his opponent in a movie by thinking in three dimensional space but then Star Trek never uses you can move in any direction in space again.
A lot of Sci FI is mostly trying to mirror naval engagements, which are largely 2D.
My preferred theory is that when you have giant walls like that, they also have the ability to rotate in the system, and thus can realign themselves to face an attack from any direction relatively quickly. Esspecially if it's a warp wall which can just appear anywhere whenever it wants.
I blame Star Wars for that. Spaceships aren't litteral battleships. B/
@@Santisima_Trinidad realigning such a ring would be unfathomably difficult. Even with hand-waving warp travel - the strains on such a structure would be on a magnitude where just moving a planet would be more believable.
Horus has more right to be dubbed "Chaos Jesus" because he's technically human. This is more like a Chaos cherubim of the biblicalyl accurate variety with four faces.
He’s not human. Primarchs are not Human but built on the foundation of a human. They’re very removed from the typical biological human being.

Like honestly fuck Be'lakor and Vashtorr, this guy is still cannon and was capable of manipulating real space with the warp in ways we’ve only seen when Khorn ripped a hole in Terra’s ass
That's a massive writing problem for me when thinking about GW. They always introduce massive fucking insane plot points for 40k that they cannot use without nuking the setting... x/

YOU LEFT OUT THE BEST PART: Near the end of the book Madail shows a vision of chaos actually winning the war - then you get a sesnse of how much larger chaos's plan actually is.
In the vision as you pull away further from the milky way you begin to see deamonic dyson sphere's that power up the space wall idea but to greater extent - as the vision pulls further away from the galaxy you see that it all rearranges the Milky Way into a massive star of chaos - think of a galaxy sized Eye of Terror - from where chaos can truly attack other galaxies and the universe it self.
That was Madail's work, that's why he is so bad ass

I imagine the destruction of daven, and thus the demon ship, and creation of the sanguinarch, was enough to shatter the demon, so even if Chaos wanted to power him up, it simply doesn't have the capacity to hold that power anymore, like bottle that had its bottom broken off. You can tell it used to be a bottle, and the base can still hold liquid, but only a fraction of what it used to be able to hold.
Another awesome being which is rarely talked about. Same with Malal/Malice.

Since the true name of a daemon is one of its biggest weaknesses, it makes sense for it to be known by many names

I’m only up to book 31 in the reading order, but the damnation of pythons was actually one of my favourites. Definitely worth a read, especially if you’re an Iron hands fan. Captain Atticus is an fn monster!

time to apply the necrons god breaker methods onto the chaos daemons for an experiment!
Ixtharganix is detailed in a short bit in the Daemons codex, but he's never mentioned outside it. Tzeentch gave him a prophecy to act upon for a reason but he has yet to use what he stole from the young human oracle.

Legit question, how does Sanguinius fall to the Black Rage if the Black Rage was triggered at the point Horus killed Sanguinius and causes visions of Sanguinius death and rage against Horus throughout the Blood Angels? Didn't they only have the Red Thirst at this point?

That giga structure the span of a system and made of brass would've instantly collapsed into a black hole or at least cause severe time dilation
The whole point of the warp is to be paradoxical if not impossible. Hence why time does and doesn't exist at the same time within it, why calling regions of the warp "regions" is a language abuse, etc. Pretty much because things in the warp exist less as a state of being and more as a metaphore, concept, idea, and so on.
That's why it is extremely hard to pull up a demon into realspace, and why warp-originated structures like this one instantly self-destroy when cut off from the warp.
Also, Warhammer 40k is science fiction with overwhelming amounts of magic and things that can't exist.

One of my fav books is Damnation of Pythos, it makes me sad when i hear others ppl that this book its skipble. This book has good lore full with amazing characters and you can see the difference between IH,RG and SM( i really hate salamanders and you can see why i hate them in this book.
Madail's Warp daemon fortress megastructure sounds like a events you would expect from a Stellaris mod. Too bad you don't see structures like that much anymore in Warhammer 40k.
And Madail has been sidelined for 11,000 years.

Tbf, it doesn't sound like he himself was that powerful, just that he had the backing of the chaos gods and had a surprising amount of demonic ingenuity in comparison to others.
Where some demons just grab the minimal amount of power and equipment they need to muster and go gung ho on the materium, this guy went extra and beyond.
Never say how the big e and rogal dawn both got angry when they heard the news about horus. Thats the only thing i hate about the story

It's possible you've done this, but could you make a video on the difference between chaos undivided daemons and regular daemons? And what makes them different from other warp entities, like an Enslaver or Warp Wasp?

so the suffix of -il or -el in hebrew can mean the lord, or god, so i looked up mada and madai, which madai translates to 'my measure(ment)' and 'out of abundance', with mada meaning 'the furthest point' in arabic. considering dude summoned a wall made of all the things that died from the immaterium, gods measurement seems like a fitting name.
