    Thanks for introducing us to Dylan. It's so refreshing to see the realness of our community. I don't know how hard Dylan climbs, nor does it matter; he's just like me and so many of us: absolutely frothing and trying to squeeze as much climbing out of life as possible. Great story telling without being in your face. Well done :)

    Uau! I really love the quality of this video - the colours, the soundtrack, the images, the silence, the punctual verbal story telling, u give space for the images to speak for themselves. so far one of the most beautiful climbing content I've seen! thanks.

    Really beautiful short film! I never wonder about income when I see “dirtbag” climbers, since there’s a ton of possible explanations for that. What I DO wonder about is how they always find a belay? Do they often rope solo? Trust that there will be people at the crag willing and able to belay safely? I feel like unless you have a dedicated travel/climbing partner that must be the hardest 🤔

    With a title like "get a job" I was expecting a short story on the social and financial sacrifices our friend Dylan has had to make in order to pursue climbing, so i felt it a little misleading.
    I would have been very interested to hear Dylan's thoughts on budgeting, cooking in bulk,
    how he pays his vans registration, running costs and fuel and maybe even a tutorial on making his own moustache wax (because that stuff isn't cheap!) The dumpster diving was a nice touch although it felt detached to roll it in with the credits.
    Nice work on creating the cinematic feel, colouring and editing were excellent but i was left wanting a more thought-out story.

  • @RockClimberAlex
    @RockClimberAlex Před 2 lety +3

    Left with more questions than answers, but I like it. Starting with 5:30 the music drowns the voice, which seems like a weird choice, if it's not a mistake. I mean dumpster diving is nice and all, but it doesn't explain the gear, the van, the gas for the van etc.

    The ones telling you to get a job just don't get it. They can't possibly understand. It's a way of life. And if experiencing contentment, joy and nirvana is the ultimate meaning of life, then climbing makes perfect sense.
