@@bogart7498 Adam Ondra is the hands down strongest, most diversive climber that has ever existed. By far the current strongest climber, do look him up its pretty rad how far away most other pro climbers actually are from this guy
Yeah I'm also a boulderer who hates heights. Took me like a year until I tried to topout and jump down from up high. Now I am super comfortable but.. I won't trad climb ever probably hahaha
I think any footage of Alex honnold should come with a "danger: gravity" warning 😂 This was way too casual showing him freesolo on cliff edges with a caption like "come on its climbing day are you joining us or what?"
I’m a newbie tree climber and this was actually very applicable advice for me. I just realized I’m leaning too much into the tree and if I leaned back more on my lanyard it would be much more secure
Every time (every time, seriously) I watch Alex free soloing, my hands start sweating. I just can't comprehend this man's lack of fear. Nothing else makes my hands sweat, just by watching it.
@@gregory7632 not a deficiency, a lower response to stimuli. And science is nowhere near knowing whether he was born that way or whether it is the result of decades of climbing.
Alex Honnold, for me HE is the one and only (no doubt there are others). I was watching his 2018 Oscar award documentary Solo with my sweaty palms sitting on my couch while Alex was chilling out climbing El Capitan without ropes. Even doctors said he's more unique than uniques, having low heart rates while climbing thousands of feet up vertically.
I've watched movie with him - it was most nervous and thrilling movie I've ever saw because danger is absolute realistic and death is always near him very close while he climbing.
He once told the story of him soloing Halfdome, when he was scared to stand up in a foothold he thought was too small. Watching the footholds in this video, I cannot fathom how tiny said foothold had to have been for him to feel anxious.
Good technique on slabs like that is not keeping straight arms… leaning in close to the rock on slabs with your arms bent is often needed to take weight off your arms…however, on overhangs keeping your arms straight as often as needed is good technique.
I feel like the hardest thing with climbing isnt the physical aspect. I mean yes the physique of these climbers is just mind blowing but to be able to stay calm while your playing with death just comes to show how strong their mental state is
teaching while freesoloing😂
That’s why he’s a legend! 😂🐐
This guy lives literally on the edge..
How about in Free Solo when his girlfriend let go of the safety rope 😱😱😱

To be fair he's probably only 800ft up when demonstrating
"ok now i'm chilling", while freesoloing on a wall at 200-300 m from the ground. this guy is something different
That's an "easy" Wall Form him.
Goat but really, he is goat goat and he is G.O.A.T. as well.

I like how he dangles his feet for dramatic effect then proceeds to put his feet back on to non-existent foot holds. 😂
😂😂😂😂
While he is free soloing omg
I found it interesting how he was slightly mocking the fear of falling while in that position.

Freesoloing is a great strategy for becoming a lifelong climber 👍🏻

hahahaha

Gonna climb till the very end
Oh my gosh watching him teach while free soloing made my palms sweet. I boulder and hate heights

@ShaXCwalk Makes sense I still freeze mid way sometimes little leg shake lol 😆
same thing always happens to me when I watch freeclimbing
mmm those palms must be delicious
Don't know video has sweetening effect
This dude's mental is just built different I swear. Really hope he stays safe and injury free

Alex Honnold is a living legend! 👏
We couldn’t agree more!
Total agree
For now
@@2e4sY4U nah he's gon live a long life. he has leveld down cus he has a family now.
I’ve got his haircut. That’s also where the differences in our lives depart…
The similarities depart, not the differences. It's a metaphor

I've heard he once ate an entire raw red bell pepper, in just 18 seconds!
magnus video?
Legend has it this guy once hiked the down trail from El Capitan barefoot!
XDDD
That's so Hardcore! :)
Pretty sure that was Half Dome, not El Capitan
Half Dome…
How’d he get up there😉
Alex looks and talks like your best friend. Like you have always known him. There's sth really mystical about this man.
he actually is like the rock climbing friend who shows you how to be passionate about it

Not for Alex.

Man Alex, you are the man. Wish you and Dean did some collabs before he passed.
This guy is amazing!😮
Alex Honnold.
I don’t care how impressive he is at climbing. I do care on how he’s so fearless at it
he's not fearless. He's confident on his skills
He has a sort of defficiencie of its amygdale that s why he does not perceive things as we do.

Dude is inspiring levels of chill holy crap
I am happy running around trees 😂😂
I've just discovered climbing and Alex 8s my inspiration thanks for all your videos ❤ and love to you and your family
My fiancé introduced me to climbing this year and I've been going with her to the climbing centre every week and I love it.
Given the chance I think I would. Looks awesome 💪
He has a Documentary out - Free Solo. Really enjoyed it. Dude is on another level. Id say genius in his own right.
One of the best videos of climbing literally !
He looks so happy
I’m gonna have to pass bro

A very beautiful climb, although very dangerous. I wish you a lot of luck in this climb.
He is such a zen climber so peaceful zero anxiety he makes climbing look like meditation
Man i wished i got turned onto climbing when i was younger. Just turned 20 but I'm giddy like a baby when im in the gym
This guy did the most impossible that even much more experienced climbers before him couldn’t do and I respect that
I’m 12 and I just started climbing
The most chill guy, and the bravest one 😂😂
The man...The Legend!
Not everybody needs to love climbing, but some people are actually goat
My hands and feet are tingling just from watching this.
Chilling that looks like fun😊
The legend.
Who says there are no Heroes?
Alex Honnold, the Man, The Myth, The Legend!
an absolute intergalactic legend!
It’s complicated for me, I LOVE bouldering but I’ve also always had this massive fear of heights.
Thanks for the tips just in case my kids ever wan to climb 😂 cause I’m sure not ✊🏿
This guy is a boss I wish I would of got into this when I was a kid 😭
I climbed out of bed this morning 😊
Not me buddy, I'll just watch you climb. 😊
Alex Honnold is truly built different💪🏻 his mental game is on another planet
I don't have to love climbing, you right man, I don't want to intentionally out my self in suicidal situation🤣
You couldn’t get a more suitable ambassador for climbing. .ever!
Goat
GOAT of GOATS, KING of KINGS
long lige Mr Honnold 🙇🏾♂️
My legs are shivering 😅
What Alex says here reminds of the Judo term “seiryoku zenyo” which roughly means to use your mental and physical energy in the best possible way
Wish there was a climbing gym in my country man.
My hands are sweating by just watching the video
History of climbing is older than humans itself... Thanks for the tips Alex!
I didn't even realize he didn't have a rope attached. Such a good solo master!
Hands never sweated so much watching a short
id never free solo but mad props to this guy
I fell over once while looking up at a high building.
"Let your skeleton do the work"
Damn. ❤

Alex the legend if feee solo climbing
Great tip by a big legend.
I freaking love watching Honnold climb even though it makes my palms sweat. I just hope I don’t hear of the one mistake he made any time soon.
First rule of climbing… be naturally thin and light.
love from Nepal kathmandu
Bro just casually started Youtubing while free soloing after his documentary xD
j aime trop ce type !
Ok but he’s JACKED now I’ve followed Alex for a long time. I have never seen him so big.
This man is insane love it he's 1mill dialed in bro
This guy is unreal amazing
Just watching him makes my palms sweat...
Seriously 😂
I watched his VR movie at a friends and i had much more than my hands sweating in the end :)

I've jumped out of plenty of airplanes and this still gives me the willies just watching the videos LOL
I am so stressed right now 😂
Wear one of those base jumper parachutes if you wanna climb without ropes

Yup. It will happen one day. 😐
He makes it look so easy
Que locura. Es un tipo diferente!! Un fuera de serie
I m proposing, the mountain goat as a nickname^^
If we didn't have any fears, would we like all us start sounding like him ?
Damn I’d really like if we somehow got like half of his climb at this angle
Nice work
His pants game is crazy
I like the dimonstration 600m from the ground 😂
New meaning to "where eagles dare"
I could never I am deathly afraid of heights I can’t climb a rock wall with out being scared lol
every day is climbing day
Wow
So cool 😎
If this is my passion, i don't want to discover it
Do it
Same we gon die bro
You don’t need to free solo to enjoy climbing. Get out there on some boulders or ropes. It’s very safe and great fun.
