I'm making this for dinner tonight 9 years later!! Thanks man!
This is an AMAZING recipe! Whatever you do, don't leave out the dehydrated onions...they are a KEY component. Thanks for sharing this recipe, Larry.
I like your videos because they're simple and get straight to the recipe without a lot of jibber jabber!
Please try this pizza recipe and comment

By the way I'm still looking for a girl to replace me in front of the camera 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is my second time making this. It was our first time ever trying homemade Salisbury steaks. Such a difference in flavor & taste then a frozen box, so much better. My whole family loved them. I love when i cook a meal & there's no left overs. Thanks so much for sharing such a soulful rich dish with us.
I love Salisbury Steak! I first had it back in the '60s when it came as the protein portion of a Swanson TV Dinner. Then I had a "homemade" version that used Lipton Onion Soup Mix for the sauce. THEN I learned to make it from scratch. I was the only 12-year old boy I knew back then who cooked things like that. (Franks and beans, using canned beans, was about as advanced as most of my friends got.) To this day, it's still one of my favorite beef dishes.
That is so sweet. You just made me smile on a sleepy Saturday morning
calm down please we sont caew
So I just made this recipe and my whole family smashed it!!!! I thought I would have some for tomorrow and NOPE! This was so bomb over the mashed potatoes and broccoli... damn. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
LOL Thanks! Glad everyone enjoyed it!
TheWolfePit dude thats wicked gross thanks for the video
TheWolfePit 0:40 barfff
All the best recipes combine a few basic flavors.
Nonyah Biz Why is him mixing with his hands gross? When it comes to ground beef, the best way to mix everything together is with your hands. A lot of tools don't really mix everything real well. And if you're worried about germs, if you wash your hands, there's probably more germs in the air. Not to mention, the heat kills most bacteria.
The video is quick, informative and easy to follow. Thanks Wolfe Pit for also making the recipe on the site super short and easy to read without a bunch of BS.
Where have you been all my life. I’m a huge lover of salisbury steak, tried many recipes before but they all ended in failure, either meat too tough and chewy or gravy is off. But this....is spot on perfect. I only add 3/4 stick of butter to it, eat it with my killer mashed potatoes and i was in heaven. No need to order from restaurant no more. You have my gratitude my good man.
I’ve tried this recipe several times now and it’s perfect. You can add bell peppers or whatever else you want but his basic recipe is GREAT. I LOVE HIS RECIPE.
I had some problems with this upside down meatloaf. Any suggestions?

Hi there I'm looking for a girl to replace me in the kitchen 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ok, contact me on my channel and we'll see 😍
@@MI-vn4tp I'm waiting for you honey. Tell me when and where to meet 😍
Tried this recipe and it was great. I used Lipton onion soup, green bell peppers and my own seasonings along with his ingredients GREAT...
Sounds amazing! any other ideas for the recipe?
I use Lipton onion soup in almost everything I make it's so good
Sounds great! Bell peppers add flavor! Good idea!🍻
@Great White Usually whoper ingredients tomatoes pickles ketchup mayo onions lettus
Hi,do you add your Lipton mix to the meat, gravy??
This was a home run at our house, my husband LOVED it and finished my leftovers for another day. I can’t wait to try more of your recipes.
I love that this is all from scratch with no processed food ingredients like soup mix
Yeah, the beef base is totally not processed
Just made this the other night and I will not be buying pre-made ever again this was the best recipe i've ever done thank you for the recipe
bella christina Hi Bella, you can find Beef Base in the soup section. A popular brand name is Better than Bouillon. If you cannot find Beef Base, simply use beef broth (do not add the water if the recipe if you do) or you can keep the recipe as is and use a couple bouillon cubes. Hope this helps!! Thank you for watching and please let me know how you like it!
Larry
***** can u also use flower instead to thicken the gravy?
anglvsbk315 Yes ma'am, use the flour the same as the corn starch! Thanks for watching!
Larry
+TheWolfePit Answered my question :)
TheWolfePit or Bovril or OXO cubes
I used some brown gravy mix instead of beef base
I love this recipe. I tried it last week and I'm cooking it again tonight! Thank you for this!!
My family loved this recipe. My wife’s favorite meal from school.
Had this for dinner tonight. Served in over plain white rice. Quick, easy, filling dinner! My hubby, who is a very picky eater, loved it! 🙂
Just ate breakfast an hour ago. Watched this and am now starving 😀
😂🤣
Me too!
Yes, absolutely one of my favorite childhood comfort food memories ❤️
This is an oldie but goodie. My mother used to make these. Time to bring it back.
I made these last week and they came out perfectly! I've never been able to make homemade Salisbury steaks, though I have tried. I'm making them again tonight! Thank you TheWolfePit! My family loves these!
We made this tonight for dinner!! We served it over mashed potatoes, and it was amazing! Thanks for such a simple, easy, and delicious recipe! Beware, it makes a LOT of food if you follow the ingredients exactly! 😋
It's perfect. I've made this many times. My family loves loves this recipe out of any others I've made or try to make. Amazing gravy cornstarch slurry is my jam for beef stew and similar recipes. Thank you for sharing with us all!
Watched this video and made this today. My family loved it! Thanks so much.😘
Mouth watering recipe! The best one!!! Thanks for sharing it, my family loved it
I just made this recipe and it was so amazingly delicious! I'm so happy I found this video. So simple yet scrumptious. Thank you
I grew up in the 60’s, in Seattle, WA.
We had Salisbury Steaks at least twice a month, likely more. My dads favorite to start but soon we all loved them. Great spices and rich gravy..,
ENJOY every bit it of it OFTEN ♥️
Absolutely THE best recipe for this I’ve ever found. Well done.
The best Salisbury steak I have ever made ! Thank you for sharing your recipe !
In so happy to find comfort classics like this! Not every recipe has to be an exotic one. I really appreciate this
A haiku:
Salisbury steak
Coated in silky gravy
Satisfied with love
Tried this recioe years ago and it was amazing. Tried it again today and its still amazing. I love how simple yet super delicious it is.
There's almost no limit to how creative you can be with this recipe. I'm not too fond of mushrooms so I put sliced carrots in mine. I've also seen peppers used along with the onions as well as a whole variety of seasonings.
Very NICE! Like you said, "comfort food". Great job Larry!
Ballistic BBQ Thank you Greg!
Comfort food at it's finest Larry, YUM! Thanks for sharing the recipe link too!
Robert Peters Thank you Robert! Hope you give it a try!

Thank you very much, I was searching for something to make for dinner with hamburger meat and this is perfect, my husband is going to love it. God Bless you 🙏😇💕
And bless you for making your husband dinner. My ex's best meals? Delivery and reservations.
Tried this recipe twice, and it was a hit both times. It’s really important to build that fond when browning the patties. Takes the gravy to the next level. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing this. My kids are learning to cook for the family and my 11 year old made this and the whole family flipped! They loved it! Thank you again!!
blessings to this man. ill donate to this channel
I literally just finished making this, and it is so good! I followed the directions exactly as they were written, I only added some Lipton onion soup as I saw others have suggested. But I didn’t change a thing. And I love the fact that you didn’t have 1 million ingredients. Thank you SO much!!
Lipton Soup mixes are so amazing and are just a mix of seasonings...
Nice you didn't have very loud music.
I made this tonight... OMG, so delicious!
Looks super delicious I absolutely love Salisbury steak it’s one of my favorite meals of all time. Goes wonderful with mash potatoes and butter egg noodles

Looks great! I made this once, and that recipe incorporated fresh parsley in the patties. This is great with mashed potatoes and that great gravy.
Mother of God. Liked, subscribed, saved video, took notes... Someone get this man a beer that he righteously deserves for posting this recipe..
BEER!?!?!? I love you Justin!! I will cook for BEER!!! Let me know how you like it!! Thanks for watching!!

Good, simple recipe. Just ate them for dinner and the entire family loved them. Good job!
Great recipe! Mushrooms definitely a great addition.
I may wait to add the cornstarch slurry until after the steaks are done and removed from pan.
Awesome family classic!Thank-you for this great recipe💕
Hello Loretta, you're looking so gorgeous, how are you doing my friend?
Fresh is always best...my mouth watered watching it.
We made this today followed exactly and it turned out great.
l love Salisbury steak. gonna try this recipe. Thanks
YUP This is something my family makes. A real comfort food :) Thanks
I made this for supper tonight and yes, it’s now added to my recipe card file and my list of best comfort foods. Now I can make my own Salisbury Steak TV dinners. Thank you for the recipe which I followed to the letter but the slurry. I used a combination of water, flour & Bisto gravy mix. Scrumptious!
That looked amazing and so easy. It's my first time watching your videos. I can't wait to see more and I think I may make this dish real soon.
You will not regret it!!
Love that quick crust on the beef. Cast iron is the best.
Did this plate again using your recipe, and AGAIN it was a homerun here at my house. Happy family, thanks again Mr. Wolfe Pit....Ain't nothing like beautiful family time at the dinner table and a delicious meal...🤠
Sup Larry, this is almost exactly how my grandma and mother used to make but they add a little bit apple butter to sauce, Pennsylvania dutch lol, I now use cheap cuts and needle it, age and needle again, add herbs, but same similar recipe,. I'm loving channel, and so happy you share recipes, and highlight frozen stuff for people down and out for whatever reason 👊, provide a service, entertainment, stress free recipes ect.., going from wide passing to homeless to chef with kids under 1 roof, it really hits home. Tyvm
Well that's a far step from the Salisbury steak I used to have in school. Excellent job Larry!
ewwwww! who wants to remember the Salisbury Steak from School!
White Thunder BBQ What about the ones in the aluminum TV dinners? BEFORE MICROWAVES! Now you're talking! LOL
karl john LOL!
This is almost like a deluxe version of that.
That was mystery meat!
Wow....im a huge meat lover and this just made my mouth water!!!! Def gonna try this!

This is the best recipe I've ever tasted for Salisbury steak...I've even used it for making my tator tot casserole, meatballs & meatloaf! Always delicious!! Thank you.
My daughter and I are making this as I type....smells delicious!! We cant wait to taste it!!
Sure isn't gourmet fare, but a good old fashioned gut buster meal for those that like their meals large and tasty.
I love your comment, because you're not only speaking the truth, but because you also used the term "gut buster meal". Thanks. 😉
I’d like to make it but there’s no measurements
@@bryansetters5146 there's a printable recipe my friend 😉
NEW SUBSCRIBER IN DA HOUSE!!! LOVE THE RECIPE!!! BEAUTIFULLY MADE!! THANK YOU & SOOO SIMPLE !!!!WOOHOO!!!!
I have tried your recipe several times!!!!! My family loves it!!!! I also add mushrooms ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks WolfPit!!!!!
Just made this and so good! Thank you!
I'm English and this American comfort food looks great I'm having this tonight we have awesome Worcestershire sauce here.
@Castlebury21 it was beautiful, I knew my family would love it as we love all the ingredients. Just never thought of mixing them together.
This is my all-time favorite meal in the world. I make my slurry out of rice flour and water. I think because of the gluten makes the gravy stick to the meat. Shiitake mushrooms and I'm in heaven at midnight. Thanks a lot friend
Your recipe videos are the best on CZcams.
I just made this tonight. Outstanding. Thank you so much.
Love this recipe! Especially the method of combining the the ingredients first, mixing them and then adding to the meat. Can't believe I never thought of this before. Thank you Larry!
Typical shower babe I'll leave it unlocked for you
This is one delicious recipe Larry, i think it is the best anywhere on the net. A little tip for viewers, if you have gas problems after eating white castle/krystal burgers, it is because they use dehydrated onions and rehydrate them in water to steam with the burgers. Larry adds dehydrated onins i his mix before he adds the beef, and if you put in 1 level teaspoon of sugar, it will counter act the dried onions and stop the gas problems. An elderly lady taught me that and it works. You will never taste the sweetness of the sugar. It also works in a pot of any type of soup beans. Might be the best handy tip from anyone in regards to cooking, and no sweetness in the beans either, it becomes diluted in the recipe, i guarantee it works, and your getting this info from a 55 yr. old man with digestive disorders.
Thanks for that tip Steve. I'm going to try it.
Making this at this very moment. I can not wait!!
This recipe was perfection!thank you!
Larry. You just punched my hungry button. Salisbury steak is my weakness. Killer video.
Smokes A Rollin Thanks Russ! If you didn't live so far away you could have joined us!!
My mom use to make this. Somehow she made them the same size, weight, look of an hockey puck! I dreaded this meal as a kid until I started making it.
I am making it as I watch.. I'm so excited
Looks wonderful! Thanks for sharing!
I used almond flour and finely chopped mushrooms in the patties rather than bread crumbs also used heavy cream instead of milk for same reason, less carbs. Used onions and mushrooms in gravy. Turned out great.
Using cream instead of milk requires no reason.
that look awesome with mashed potatoes, mixed veges, buttermilk biscuits
I made this tonight. I absolutely loved it. Thank you for dinner. It was lovely.
The best... first time I ever made this and I’m not disappointed... I will be making this all the time 😜🥰
Salisbury steak is one of my favorites. Thank you for this easy classic recipe Chef. No more frozen On-Cor for Me!
i had on-cor on my shopping list but i took it off so i can cook this instead
I been making a similar recipe for years...
After browning the patties, remove them add two cups beef stock to deglaze a can of cream of mushroom soup and a cup of rice. Season with salt and pepper and place in 350 oven for 30 minutes. Remove, stir and add the patties on top. Return to oven and bake for another 15-20 min. It's soo tasty!
Sounds very good might try yours since you atleast added the gist of the recipe with measurements ! Which is more than this guy with the video did. What size can of soup ? 10 oz. or family size ? is rice cooked or not ? Is it just plain white rice ?
@@dragons8822 10oz and plain uncooked long grain or parboiled rice (parboiled stays more firm which I like).
Also before you add the patties stir the rice, the rice will cook more evenly.
My family loved this recipe thanks for the video
Larry your recipes are awesome you and mrs.wolfpit are the best
I made this last night. The only thing I changed was I used ground turkey because I'm really sensitive to beef and I added Shitaki mushrooms....this is definitely a keeper! It was delicious! Thanks for sharing!
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
i would like to try this at home thumbs up!
This is my go to recipe now! Made it multiple times.
Looks sooooo good!! Thank you for sharing!
Going to try that, today! I like recipes that can be shown in under 5 minutes. I have been trying to find some meals I can make with hamburger. I get tired of the same thing all the time. My kids love meatloaf and this is basically meatloaf patties with gravy so I think they would like it.
