  • This is the first installment in what I'm calling Prevost for Newbies. In this episode you'll meet Gil Johnson of PrevostOwnersGroup.com and we'll take a detailed look at the bays on a 2014 Marathon Coach see an explanation of the function and operation of each area. Included in this episode is the storage bay that incorporates a picnic table, the BBQ grill and outdoor refrigerator, the outdoor TV and the bay that contains the chassis batteries and 12V and 24V cutoff switches.
    This series is produced with the hope of explaining many of the elements of Marathon Prevost Coaches that may seem complex, but all attempts are made to explain the how's and why's of usage. And yes, it's a long segment!
    Part 2 is currently online and details the driver's side bays including the Inverter/Charger, Plumbing and Generator bays. • Prevost For Newbies - ...

    I just want to say your videos are AMAZING and chocked full of useful information. Unfortunately I don't have the pleasure of owning an RV or Motorcoach, however as a Class "A" Commercial Coach & Entertainer Coach Operator familiar with both the Prevost "H" & "X" models, the MCI "D" & "J" models, and of course the more popular VanHool "TX"', "CX", and "TD" models I was still able to walk away with some very useful/ interesting tips and information. I only wish that other coach companies would have you product test and video review their coaches. Eventhough Prevost is hands down the "Gold Standard" of coaches whether you're talking to professional passenger drivers or recreational owners there are other companies doing great things with motorcoaches making it a wonderful experience for the driver and most importantly the passengers. Keep up the good work and hats off to you sir.

    If you leave your pump unattended at most stations around here and they notice, they will shut down the pump. If you have a jug of def, you don't have to pour it in at the pump, you can do it anytime. It's not like it's a highly flammable product. .

    Sad, had high hopes for this series...interesting topic. But Sheesh, every Marathon Coach is custom built. So your walk around is only specific to your coach. So glad you are happy with yours, but hardly relevant to the other 99% of us RV'ers.

    Does it have central vacuum? Or do most of the Marathon coaches have central vacuum? I was looking at their video, but it did not mention it.

    • @TheGadgetGuru
      @TheGadgetGuru  Před 6 lety +1

      My bus does not have a central vacuum system. I keep a Dyson rechargeable vacuum on the bus and it seems to take up a lot less room than a typical central vac hose and frees up the bay space for the central unit.

    Hi Andy,
    Since you live in Florida, did you consider Liberty or Millennium before you bought your Marathon X3-45 ?

    • @TheGadgetGuru
      @TheGadgetGuru  Před 7 lety

      I did consider Liberty as they have an office located within a half hour of my home. I found that Marathon was a better fit for my needs. I did tour a few Millenium Coaches at the Prevost Stuff show in Tampa in January. All three produce beautiful coaches. I was wondering about the California emissions laws and Prevost Busses. I am looking for a 1988-1995, and will i run into trouble registering it in CA? I read somewhere Motorhomes are exempt as long as it says Motorhome on the Registration. Any thoughts on this? I am Not really interested whether you personally like California or not. Old comment/post, but when we get our Prevost, I do not want more things to break. This coach, for example, is not my style, even though it is outside my pay scale (at least, if I still want to have a beautiful home that appreciates). Nonetheless, I want to keep it simple. Our coach will be pre-DEF, riveted, non-slide, DD 60 series.
      However, I will update camaras, and basic tech (solar, TVs, sound, etc.).
      Oh, and why are we harping on Marathon!? You own one. I get it, but I will just say that I subscribed a few shows ago, and then unsubed when it became too Marathon and then the DEF stuff.

It slams on the brakes when some idiot cuts you off, 4 wheel drivers are soo unpredictable and do soo much stupid stuff and can cause a driver to lose their job over throwing someone from their bunk. And the 4 wheel.driver wont even know they cost me a job. Im sure its a great feature for the amature "rv" drivers, but youre talking about a prevost that could be driven by a professional.
