This was awesome! You all get along so well Love how patient Dave is. This helped me understand what to look for when turning so I won't hit anything. Great job on driving and backing up!
Loved Mickey's comments about "Backing up." My dad had a plaque on the dash of his Class A that read; "Remember, The Faster the Back, the louder the Whack!"
I had called you earlier but was distracted over the Dupont incident. Q: Is there or are there auxillary air couplings at the rear of the coach for a stacker trailer? And if we could ask Dave about what electrical can be provided at the rear of the coach other than a 7 pin? and if so what volatges?
Mal , these r no doubt the class of RV's , I am wondering why some of the technologies in today's cars and Suvs , like blind spot sensors in mirrors , back up sensors , front sensors (park assist) some of which u talked about in this video , all those including lane departure aids r not in these coaches , basically infrared cameras, just seems They could be and cost is really not a factor at this level a few thousand at most , any plans in near future to add those things , or if they not feasible for some reason that I can't think of can u share that ?
@Keith Wheeler - .. Great question. .. At some point, the chassis provider Prevost will monetize these technologies. .. Those who own these coaches say " Its never to soon".
Morning Mal and team, i now watch evdry wekk, thoroughly enjoy every week. I have emailed and asked in Facebook. Where can i buy a Marathon Coach Calander (2018. Regards John, from Whitby, North Yorkshire UK
Thanks for watching, William! Although both provide quiet, luxurious ride with great visibility, impressive exterior styling, superior handling with an independent suspension system, integral stainless-steel structure for optimal passenger safety and an environmentally friendly Volvo D13 engine (exceeding EPA emission regulations for clean air and fuel economy), there are some subtle but important differences between the X3 and the H3 chassis. The simple answer is that the X3 provides the classic look of ribbed stainless siding and the highest interior headroom, while the H3 boasts the industry’s largest under-floor storage capacity for equipment, amenities and storage. For additional details, to learn more of the chassis nuances or any other questions about our coaches, please don’t hesitate to contact Marathon’s concierge at concierge@marathoncoach.com.
Mal, As you and Dave were heading back to the plant you drove over an indentation in the road and I could hear the coach rattle pretty harsh....I would have thought the interior would have been quieter for a million dollar Prevost motorhome. Pls comment...
You can go all the way back to our very first episode of Marathon Mondays with Mal at this link. Cheers! czcams.com/play/PLBp2anFaQYhdvbuDU4dA-v8ubcqBr6i58.html
If she thinks that's hard, tell her to come with me to drive a semi truck. I'm a driver trainer, I have to teach people with little or no experience driving a large vehicle and withing 4 weeks they become solo drivers. Driving an articulated vehicle is much harder than a fixed vehicle like a 45 foot coach. Compared to what I drive, that coach would be an absolute breeze. I will be coming out to Oregon this summer and I would like to "show off" my skills as a Class A CDL professional driver. I'd love to sit down and chat with Dave, compare road stories.
I have the opo opinion driving a semi is easy being doing it for over forty years now retired , but i have to admit comming back to rigids including my car it all goes so very wrong trying to park my car in between two lines OMG !
Micki.....great job behind the wheel......Mal....great job hosting.....except for one thing.....The Love Boat??....How about...Santa Claus Is Coming To Town?

What year is the Marathon coach in this video
That is coach #1270, a 2018 model.
Do you have to have a CDL to be able to drive one of those?

If you want to skip the chit chat, the driver instruction starts at 16:32.
I hope all of Mal’s videos are available on a memory stick. They should be included with the Marathon Manual.
