      It’s all standing dead from the pine beetles, so it would just ignite like kindling.

      @@missmayflowergo camping. Ignite kindling. Not how it works.. now go take a perfectly dried 2x4 with pine Beatles marks. Take a blow torch to it .... this goes against your entire childhood camping and building fires.

      No, it makes sense. There were very strong winds meaning the fire was being fueled.

      They're not from Jasper and they have no property or belongings there, so there is a level of being detached from the situation. Also, some people smile or laugh when they are stressed or upset. It can also be a bit of "We still can't believe what we saw! Was it even real??" I don't think there's anything nefarious about the way they're recounting their experience.

      They’re tired of hearing fiction from Albertan climate change deniers (aka freedummers) saying the fire was caused by arson. They caught the proof to shut the freedummers up, so finally a serious discussion can continue onwards on how to mitigate or possibly solve the problem; for this they’re glad thus are smiling bigly.

    I have called in lightning strikes, total response time start to finish, fire out 45 minutes. Makes me think there was no need for this to happen.

      Spot on. It would be a far more soothing and confidence inspiring video if they would of hung around upwind for the firefight to start. It’s not unusual for heli attack teams to be on standby for a five minute getaway during extreme fire conditions in the boonies….never mind in a premier location near billion dollar resort towns. The weather conditions shown here aren’t severe enough or close enough to dusk to hamper this.

    HINT: At 5-6pm on that day at Jasper it was sunny, no rain, no wind. Viewer reported a brilliant flash which they interpreted as lightning, likely because they had no other explanation? whole thing is strangely akin to that hawaiian horrific sudden burndown with no explanation of how it got started. very suspect...

  • @Mec123-p6c
    @Mec123-p6c Před měsícem +1

    It would of been nice if they would of included “the really bright flashes” of lightning in their “rolling” footage.

    Federal government used to look after the forests and that is why forest fires seem more frequent now. The government in their ultimate wisdom and extremist type environment ministers pick and choose their environmental fights and ignore the common sense, forestry management maybe looks not as pretty at times but it keeps pine beetle infestations at a minimum and the absolute destruction caused by forest mismanagement.

    Proof positive of a poor response. Hard to tell if it was lightning strike. But still, that fire could have been contained and snuffed easily!
