    Systemic racism needs to END NOW! This is only one man and there are thousands of others. Please, not only listen to his wonderful music but learn about who he was!!

    Noted by Adams as being the finest violinist in Europe.
    Eternal gratitude! Like so many greats, he is largely unmentioned in the annals of musical history.

    I believe I still have the LP version of this recording, which dates back to the 1970s. It's good to see it still in circulation.

    Absolutely sublime!! A triumph!!! Truly Joseph Bologne - Chevalier de Saint-Georges (Le Mozart Noir)
    was brilliant! Not only brilliantly talented, but he also inspired and influenced Mozart. Kantorow's
    Stradivarius kept me enthralled.

      Thank you very much, I'm glad you like Bologne's music. And regarding Mozart, I agree, he had multiple sources of inspiration, at that time there were many very talented composers ... :)

    L’élégance de son jeu et la beauté de personnalité… Il faisait. partie du jury de concours quand je rentrais au CNSMDP - Paris High conservatory… We were all stressed after the exam - and he congratulated and gave very warm comments.

      You expand the expressive opportunities of the violin, which is an incredibly exciting instrument. Thus, through your violin, a new understanding of music could slowly dawn on the listener.
      I wish you to reach the greatest heights of success and fame!

    So Joseph Bologne was his name! Excellent. Have you already written his Bio here in CZcams? I normally read what you write from each composer. In this post was missing.
    Actually, I close my eyes while listening and it seems I were listening a Mozart concert.

      There is quite a long article about Joseph Bologne in Wikipedia. What an amazing life he had! And how amazing it is that he is now so little known.

    • @mathieuguillet4036
      @mathieuguillet4036 Před rokem +2

      Indeed. Bologne's style is of the high Classical era, very much like Mozart. Bologne was especially influential in Paris, and that rubbed off at least partly on Mozart during his time there.
      In fact, the two lived under the same sponsor's roof for a time, where Mozart would compose his famous Symphonic Concerto for Violin and Viola -- a format rarely used by Mozart, but which Bologne composed in frequently. I wonder if Mozart composed it with Bologne and him in mind as the soloists... As far as I know, there is no definitive proof, but it seems likely.
