Systemic racism needs to END NOW! This is only one man and there are thousands of others. Please, not only listen to his wonderful music but learn about who he was!!
Noted by Adams as being the finest violinist in Europe. Eternal gratitude! Like so many greats, he is largely unmentioned in the annals of musical history.
The 2nd-song starting at the 5:10-mark is MAGNIFICENT!!!!! Its very very BEAUTIFUL!!! I would love to see someone perform that live; that would be so spectacular!!!!!
Absolutely sublime!! A triumph!!! Truly Joseph Bologne - Chevalier de Saint-Georges (Le Mozart Noir) was brilliant! Not only brilliantly talented, but he also inspired and influenced Mozart. Kantorow's Stradivarius kept me enthralled.
Thank you very much, I'm glad you like Bologne's music. And regarding Mozart, I agree, he had multiple sources of inspiration, at that time there were many very talented composers ... :)
Il Mozart nero, violinista magistrale e grande compositore nonché invincibile spadaccino. Uno straordinario personaggio. Grazie Sibarit101 per postare musica raffinatissima ed elegante!
Jospeh Bolgne was a talent that left a legacy of beautiful music. I am very grateful for the movie for introducing this composer to me. J-J Kantorow brilliant
L’élégance de son jeu et la beauté de personnalité… Il faisait. partie du jury de concours quand je rentrais au CNSMDP - Paris High conservatory… We were all stressed after the exam - and he congratulated and gave very warm comments.
@@sibarit101 Your French is perfect! If you wish to listen to the new generation of French violinists, I modestly propose you three pieces by Fritz Kreisler. Spasibo for your critics!
@sibemol17 I listened to Kreisler's beautiful pieces, I also listened to Sibelius on your channel. Bravo! I experienced so lively an emotion in the depths of my soul! You expand the expressive opportunities of the violin, which is an incredibly exciting instrument. Thus, through your violin, a new understanding of music could slowly dawn on the listener. I wish you to reach the greatest heights of success and fame!
Maybe my hearing is not what it used to be, but this interpretation seems to be a bit faster than others that I listened to before sitting to enjoy Monsieur Jean Jacques' rendition.
So Joseph Bologne was his name! Excellent. Have you already written his Bio here in CZcams? I normally read what you write from each composer. In this post was missing. Actually, I close my eyes while listening and it seems I were listening a Mozart concert.
Indeed. Bologne's style is of the high Classical era, very much like Mozart. Bologne was especially influential in Paris, and that rubbed off at least partly on Mozart during his time there. In fact, the two lived under the same sponsor's roof for a time, where Mozart would compose his famous Symphonic Concerto for Violin and Viola -- a format rarely used by Mozart, but which Bologne composed in frequently. I wonder if Mozart composed it with Bologne and him in mind as the soloists... As far as I know, there is no definitive proof, but it seems likely.

Omg the music is out of this world I have to find every piece of music he's ever composed.
I just love him.
I do too!!
You can listen to a few here. :)
Le Chevalier was a genius! So is Monsieur Kantorow!

I believe I still have the LP version of this recording, which dates back to the 1970s. It's good to see it still in circulation.

@kelley....I could never understand why he is called Le Mozart Noir.....he was a good 11 years older....baffling
@rhonanoriega1703 to give people a frame of reference for who he was when interest in him began to be rediscovered in the very recent past.
Magnifique, grand siècle, élégance 🎶💓🎶✨
SHEER GENIUS FROM A BLACK COMPOSER !!!

Apparentlt Mozart was significantly influenced by him. They met when Mozart was a teenager.
There is quite a long article about Joseph Bologne in Wikipedia. What an amazing life he had! And how amazing it is that he is now so little known.
