- Here I take on the infamous knife-edged Crib Goch route but with a twist - I approach from the little-known North Ridge.
This route starts at the Llanberis Pass and includes a stop at the infinity pool and a delightful lake before the scramble up the North Ridge to Crib Goch begins.

I did this route in May 2023 on a weekday.
What a great walk with fabulous views on a beautiful day.
Thanks for posting.
Very nice video bro..
Awesome view my friend
Great video 🎉
Stunning filming as always thanks for posting.
🤩🤩🤩
Well done Daniel as always.🏴👍
Love this. Have done Crib in just about every weather but never approached it from this direction.
I’m in Snowdonia next weekend and might check out that lake (Llyn Glas) for a wild camp.
It's a lovely spot for a swim and wild camp, nice and quiet up there. I can imagine waking up to that scenery first thing in the morning!
Hey mate, I love your videos! A couple of weeks ago I came down the way you’ve gone up here whilst doing the classic Welsh 3000s route. It’s glorious being on that upper shelf just under Snowdon / Crib Goch.
Next time up there we’re going to do Tryfan north ridge and Bristy’s ridge, inspired by your videos 👍
I've seen the 3000ers making their way down that scree slope (alot faster than I could, I should point out!). I love Tryfan, I did a grade 3 scramble on the west side last week and should have the footage up in a couple of weeks. Bristly Ridge is great, a nice long scramble, enjoy!
Fantastic conditions. Great views. Fantastic drone footage. Sweaty palms watching the difficult bits! Well filmed. Best wishes on the next.
Yes, when I replayed the bit on Crib Goch, even I was surprised at how steep it looked on the screen!
Another excellent video. Thanks for your effort 👍
Thanks, more content to come. Gonna try and publish one vid a week with a even mix of hiking and scrambling routes; all in Snowdonia.
Prefer the quietness of the north ridge approach rather than the east. Like you say it’s just a little trickier to locate from the pass. Great video Dan, as always!
Thanks, I've always liked that side of the mountain, far fewer people and it's not far from the park & ride.
Been meaning to do this route for a while, awesome video mate.
Great route that, might try it one day. Nice video mate.
Great video, as always. Timely too, I'm planning on doing Crib Goch via the North Ridge this weekend to test out some new kit ahead of our Welsh 3000's attempt next month. Keep on creating the great content.
Thank you. I've seen quite a few ppl coming down that ridge when doing the 3000s so it's defo a popular route. You're gonna love the weather this weekend, I've just come back from 3 days up there, glorious every day.
I did the North Ridge onto Crib Goch 3 years ago. Much better route, saw no one else. The scree slope is hard work, but so worth it when you get past it onto the ridge itself. Great production as always Daniel. I went with Brave Dave as a guide having not done it before and it was massive winds. But so much fun. Dave is pretty good company and a great guide.
We've been inspired to do some of your routes and this looks like one to try. I think both the escape route and the North Ridge are used for descending when on the Welsh 3000s, have you ever done that?
I've seen the 3000ers using the North Ridge as a descent and I've done it before, it's certainly the quickest way to get down to the road.
