- Join me as I go on an epic grade 2+ scramble up the 500m long Bryant's Gully which starts at the Llanberis Pass and finishes on a spur leading to Glyder Fawr.
Expect slimy rocks, waterfalls, a sneaky trap and plenty of aerial footage.
If you're thinking of scrambling this route for the first time, this video is a must-see.

Bryant's Gully is often called Bryants Gully and is sometimes confused with the gully to the left which is the Esgair Felon Direct scramble.

Awesome gully. Great information. Helpful video.
I've just spam watched your whole channel mate. Brilliant no nonsense content 👍👍👍
Thanks, I think the more recent ones are better than the earlier ones as I'm getting better at editing. Hopefully I'll get one scrambling vid published each week for this year. Cheers.
@@thebaldscrambler quick question mate, what are you wearing on your feet ? Dryish up in the glyders? I'm struggling to find something I can put on at the car and spend a day in rather than changing into climbing shoes at the bottom of a route
La Sportiva TX4 mid cut boot. Very flexible, lightweight and comfy, they stick very well to dry rock - I had no problems on Dolmen Ridge, Cneifion Arete etc. They're not as good in the wet though as the lugs are very shallow on the front foot zone. The heel is okay, not very aggressive, so I wouldn't want to spend much time going down wet grassy hills. If it's dry I 100% recommend them.
@@thebaldscrambler excellent cheers dan
Really appreciate these videos 🙂, it's great to see to these routes with a mix of shots and advice. These have helped me up and down several mountains in Snowdonia!
Thanks, I'm glad you like them. More coming soon - I'm aiming for one video a week for this year.
Brilliant. Another one for the 'to do' list!
Yeah, I really enjoyed that one; short walk in, long route and varied terrain throughout. I do wonder what it would be like after heavy rain though ;-).
@@thebaldscrambler Yeah, that big slab looked like it'd be deadly on a wet day!
That's a cracking scramble, did it for the first time last year. It's always interesting with the change in the rock and surroundings. Great video as usual 👌
Thanks. I've been waiting a while for the weather to be onside to film this one. The lower and upper sections are completely different, but both fun in their own way.
@The Bald Scrambler definitely one to do in the midst of a dry spell 😁
Wow this looks like a challenging climb.
Not so bad in the dry, could be a different story after heavy rain ;-).
Nice video, Daniel. I'm inclined to agree with the grading in the Garry Smith guide which gives it a 3 - grade. The length and seriousness of the route warrants more than a 2, IMO - although the scrambling isn't particularly technical. I don't blame you for missing out that slab in the first section 👍
I was tempted to just stick out a toe and reach for it but I had visions of me covered in slime, sweat and suncream; making my way to the top in the most undiginified fashion. Taking the line of most resistance is probably a 3- but with it being dry and avoiding the worst bit, I'd give it 2+ ish. :-).
Definitely looks an adventure! Not my sort of thing at all but fair play to you.
Thanks, I do enjoy gully scrambles and Bryant's seemed to go on forever. I did Tregalan Couloir recently, hardly anything online about it so I took a stab at it, less obvious route but good fun still.
Awesome mate, looks like it was in condition 👍
Been on my list for a while but almost never in good condition 😪
It hasn't rained since I filmed this footage so it must be bone dry in there by now! I think you'll like this one ;-).
@The Bald Scrambler I will try next time I'm back, first I'm off to Italy in the dolomites
Lucky you! You're doing lots of climbing atm, I'm jealous!
@@thebaldscrambler yeah been ticking my list big time. Got a few epic ones lined up
Hi! Just came back from Snowdon 🤩 one question Master: if from the bottom, I going down by Llanberis Path and after few minutes I turning right from main path, after corner I see Crib Goch. And on the bottom there is view: lake with island and infinity pool. Is it possible to use that way down? Thanks for awnser 🍻
You can see that lake in the footage on this video, I went down past it in descent too: czcams.com/video/hXoJu8vFSVY/video.htmlm05s
@@thebaldscrambler thanks! In next weeks I'll do that 😎
@@thebaldscrambler Hi, me again. On that video, on 4:34, when You showing "mountain train" with your finger, exactly little bit to the left - I was there. And I was thinking to escape down. Is it possible? Sorry if asking too much 🍻
@@sosenstream5602 There is a path on that ridge going down to the Infinity Pool but I've never been down it so I have no idea how steep it is.
@@thebaldscrambler thanks a lot!
I like you travel adventure
Thank you!
